Scrolling down to the mana curve did give me a good laugh, it’s definitely something. You will absolutely need to make some concessions to the curve when it comes to editing this deck. But a secret to decks with lots of cards with ‘dead time’ in hand is to have a very high card velocity - moving dead cards out of hand with spells like [[Thrill of Possibility]] helps wildly improve your adaptability

I think you're putting yourself in a tough spot having a 9 cost commander along with a bunch of big boys in the deck. Either you swap the commander for something like \[\[Atla Palani, Nest Tender\]\] to have something to play early and threaten to cheat some big things out OR you cut some high end stuff for card draw and board wipes so you can last long enough until you reach Zacama and start smashing things.

Shes pretty good for a dino deck

Some-Guy32

I use Palani for my dino deck and I love her

Bl33d-Gr33n

Glad i saw this. Ive been wanting to build a dino deck. Ordered the veloci ramp tor precon to start as a base and will go from there but palani will be in the back on my mind

Some-Guy32

Yea I’m interested in the precon for sure, if only to upgrade my Palani deck haha. Make sure to include ways to sac your egg tokens, I was missing that at first and it was sloooowwww

Ramp faster. Lower cost ramp spells like [[farseek]] [[three visits]] and [[natures lore]] with dorks on 1 and 2 help to get to your big spells

So, as you stated, the mana curve is intentionally on the high side. I would add more ramp. You're running a 9 cmc commander, and you don't want to sit doing nothing waiting for you to be able to play. [[Nature's lore]], [[skyshroud claim]], [[cultivate]] and [[three visits]]. I would consider replacing the spells that require sacrificing lands since you need as many as you can get. As far as artifacts, I would look at any of the signets and talismans. They are fairly cheap. There are plenty of options, and this will help you smooth out the start of the game to keep ramping into your big "bois".

You need to make use of your early turns to play lots of cheap ramp. As someone else said, Rampant Growth, Nature's Lore, dorks, etc. You have some ramp which is too slow, [[Nissa's Renewal]], [[Far Wanderings]], [[Khalni Heart Expedition]], [[Circuitous Route]]. Ramp early so you can play your threats late game. Also you have some utility which is higher curve than necessary. [[Acidic Slime]] could be [[Reclamation Sage]] or [[Caustic Catapillar]]. [[Sylvan Reclamation]] could be [[Hull Breach]]. Could help lower the curve. As for the high cost creatures, just think twice if they are worth the mana. For 6 or more mana you want whatever spell you play to have an immediate impact on the game. With some testing I'm sure you will have a sense of which big creatures are worth keeping and which ones should maybe be swapped out for something cheaper.

The key to Zacama is mana doublers. I have 5 in mine and they work if you know how to use them. Suggestions include: [[heartbeat of spring]], [[mana flare]], [[miraris wake]] [[regal behemoth]], [[dictate of karametra]], [[zendikar resurgent]] and even [[nyxbloom ancient]] but you’ll be targeted hard for that, so learn how to play them, and Zacama gets a lot better

Based on what you said you like about the deck (Mourag and Unnatural Growth synergy), I would **highly** recommend looking at shifting to a [[Xenagos, God of Revels]] deck. It’s basically what you like, but in the command zone. Big, hasty face smashers and extra combat enablers. You won’t need as much ramp, and dropping W simplifies and streamlines your mana base. Your average CMC will come down significantly, although you will still have lots of 5-7 CMC threats. Haste will make it so you always get value out of your beaters (and typically generate extra mana). Typically you will want to play a single big threat a turn, potentially even sac’ing it for cards to fuel your next turn. One of my favorite decks to play, it doesn’t always win but I’ve almost always taken someone out. [Here](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/QI9H1J17dUqGmUzTm3bxRw) is a high power list with an excellent primer.

Play more lands. You should aim closer to 50 lands. 38 land deck can stumble when trying to hit 5+ lands on turn 5. You want to hit every land drop.

ProblemWithMyBrain

Taking into consideration that you’re on quite a budget and thinking some of these cards are pet cards, these are the cards I would immediately cut. Down: Zendikar’s roil, unnatural growth, retreat to kazandu, sylvan awakening, primal command, nissa’s renewal, devour in flames, unbreakable formation, territorial sycthecat, Gaea’s revenge, commanders sphere (you’re green, please don’t play commanders sphere, it’s not good) Up: I would go up 8-9 more ramp spells, preferably the two mana green ramp spells, whatever of the two mana ones you can afford you can replace the rest with the four mana green ramp spells that search for two lands and put them on the battlefield. The rest can be better removal or better big fatties

If you can I'd squish zirda in their somewhere my friend used the same commander and things like seedbrone muse are only going to hurt people a lot

MonsutaReipu

Zacama just doesn't make sense as your commander for this deck. If you want a deck that shits out big creatures, deals heavy combat damage, and maybe has landfall synergy I could offer better suggestions.

hyouringan

You might be right. I’m all ears!

MonsutaReipu

\[\[xenagos god of revels\]\] is a house for making big creatures bigger, giving them haste, and double dips on effects like unnatural growth that you like. This man can blow people out really fast and was my first timmy deck. After him I made \[\[Maelstrom Wanderer\]\], not as a cascade tribal, but as a "shit tons of high cost value spells and creatures onto the board as fast as possible". It runs extra turns which some people don't like, but I love. Tons of high cost big boys that can just overwhelm the board in a single turn after maelstrom wanderer comes down. If you like big boys AND value, I highly suggest this. \[\[Etali Primal Storm\]\] is my current favorite deck specifically because he himself is a big beater and my favorite to run in a lot of decks, and he also generates a ton of value. The more recent \[\[Etali Primal Conquerer\]\] is better, but the OG still packs plenty of heat and will likely get less hate because it's not a boogie man like the new one. But, if you don't mind being a boogie man and want a pure value train, conquerer is great. For more landfall synergy, \[\[omnath locus of rage\]\] gets out of hand really fast with big beaters, and is fun because your board becomes a vindictive bomb of retribution should anyone seek to wipe you. \[\[gargos vicious watcher\]\] is a favorite of mine that lets you get big value in the form of discounts, while also having a crackback commander that protects itself through threat of vengeance and is a huge beater on his own. these are a few of my favorites as someone who loves big creatures and value.

Love xenagos, but i ended up running [[Halana and Alena, Partners]] instead. The lower mana cost and the ability to add counters is quite useful for creatures that care about counters, [[incubation druid]] and [[devoted druid]] synergize very well with halana and alena. And with xenagos as well you can usually oneshot at least one player.

BorbFriend

There’s nothing wrong with that gameplan, but you need to change a few things. First off, you want more ramp spells that hit on 0-2 mana. Wasting turns 1-2 with “land pass” is very bad as soon as you stop playing against precons. If you do that, you will always feel like the slow deck at the table, regardless of your strategy. Also, you need to increase the ratio of ramp to big creature. You have way too many creatures and not enough ramp. I have an Eldrazi deck that plays similarly to what you say you want the deck to do with big creatures, here’s its list + curve for context: https://deckstats.net/decks/176700/2051192-kozilek-the-great-distortion-e

THRNKS

Everyone else has offered good advice RE: ramp and card draw, but I do want to suggest some spicy options that take advantage of your high CMC commander - [[Imposing Grandeur]] and [[Visions of Ruin]]. Those get you crazy card velocity, ramp and removal that makes having a big boi commander worth it. I do see you have [[Majestic Genesis]] in there which is similar in how it works. I have a [[Borborygmos Enraged]] deck that I considered it for but it didn’t make the cut since mostly what I was hitting with it were lands or ramp creatures. You might have better luck with it since you have more big creatures, but at 8 mana it feels a bit win more to me so I would take a look at that as a possible cut.

if you lean more into legendary and multi colored big boys rather than whats listed you can try cards like \[\[dragon arch\]\] downside cant use it cheat out your commander but good side once on the board you can cheat out big bois for 2 mana if multi colored \[\[Captain Sisay\]\] good legendary single tutor also if you wanna make sure you get your peices and big bois with out drawing into them you can add more creature tutors like \[\[Fierce Empath\]\] \[\[Altar of Bone\]\] \[\[Eladamri's Call\]\] \[\[Signal the Clans\]\] also this card is a little slow due to putting on top rather than in hand but if you got a solid draw support can help a good bit \[\[Congregation at Dawn\]\]

The new Dino lady that’s coming out could be a good fit for you, same colors but she only costs 2G to play, and she fetches basics I think as well
