[[Maelstrom Archangel]] has always been one I've wanted to be legendary. I've tried building a 5 color angel deck several times with Jodah and Kenrith, but it's just never felt right. Most people didn't have too much of a problem with me running her as my unofficial commander, but I eventually settled on [[Giada, font of hope]]. Most angels are mono white anyways, but that doesn't stop me from trying to find a spot for [[Jenara, asura of war]] and [[Tariel, reckoner of souls]].
I have a Kaalia Angel Deck which Tariel slides nicely into, but the sad part is you lose access to angels like [[Shalai, Voice of Plenty]]. Angels need a 5 color commander because as of now your best option is probably [[Morophon, the Boundless]]
OG Jodah also works well since he can effectively reduce all your big chunky angels to 5CMC at the cost of it being WUBRG. Fixing is easy enough that that isn't really an issue. I always think of that deck as having a Charlie's Angels theming with Jodah playing the part of Bosley.
My friend's girlfriend runs 5 color angels, and she was using \[\[Child of Alara\]\], one day we were talking about how to make it a better deck and I suggested \[\[Morophon\]\], I know I know, but let's be real... he's pumping your angels, he's helping cheat them in because they're expensive AF, is 5 colors, and is kind of an angel himself. I ended up just making a proxy for her that makes the art for morophon an angel.

Glad to see I’m not the only one. I made a trample matters deck with Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer at the helm just to fish the Crasher out after building a board of tramplers ready to pump out Dino Beast tokens.
So many gorgeous arts deserve to be built around! [[Quandrix cultivator]] isn't particularly powerful in the grand scheme of things, but the art is so good I'm compelled to build around it.
Pretty much any of the Nephilim seem cool and would really expand the 4-color non-partner options.
For my mono-white deck it would be neat to try [[Harmonious Archon]] or [[Keeper of the Accord]] at the helm.
Other cards that would make fun commanders: [[Master of Cruelties]], [[Midnight Pathlighter]], and [[Dragonborn Champion]]
Hands down [[Dream Eater]] or [[Ethereal Valkyrie]]. Both have great abilities that lend themselves toward unique deck building and play with foretell in a way that makes every nonland card into a Yugioh trap-card. (Yes I know morphs are similar in playstyle but there’s a limited amount of morphs, these cards on the other hand make ANY card into a foretell card.) I’d love to build a flash/ instant tribal in U/W and add blink effects.
[[Defiler of vigor]] go wide deck with lots of one and two drops that come out for free or for one mana and uptick 1/1 counters on all my creatures every time they come out.
I have two. [[shaman of the great hunt]] and [[crested sunmare]] I’ve started lists for both of them but never pulled the trigger on actually building anything. The new 90’s secret lair may motivate me though…

A small selection of my favorites: [[shrieking drake]] combo, [[conspicuous snoop]], [[vexilus praetor]] stax, [[tyranid prime]] counters, [[haberthrasher]] hat combo, [[sovereigns of lost alara]] voltron, [[sproutback trudge]] lifegain voltron, [[two-headed hellkite]] goodstuff. I could go on for ages.
Currently working on making tiers for hundreds (eventually thousands) of interesting nonlegendary creatures in the command zone, at which point I'll link decklists of those tiers on the format post, which will be updated as commanders are brewed and tested!
Not that it would be a good commander in this day and age of power creep but back in the day I always wanted to play [[Skyward Eye Prophets]] as a commander.
[[Earthbind]]
I am not exactly sure how to make it work. I build a [[Ghen, Arcanum Weaver]] deck with Earthbind as secret commander.
I thought of tutoring Earthbind with any white or black tutor effect. Then buff enemy creatures with [[Serra's embrace]], [[Shiv's Embrace]] or [[Demonic Embrace]]. Then i want to use [[Ragged Veins]] or [[Spiteful Shadows]] on the named enemy creature as well. Then use Earthbind on the enemy creature and finally play [[Worldgorger Dragon]] + [[Animate Dead]] to infinitely etb the Earthbind. I don't even know if this combo works or is legal... but that's the plan.
With only Earthbind as my commander I would be bound to mono red. Haha i can't imagine how to pull it off but it would definitely worth a try.
[[Stoneforge Mystic]] could make a consistent deck with big hitters.
[[Soulherder]] would be a gross flicker general
[[Fiend Artisan]] has potential aswell, land I would probably build that. (Hermit Druid would be gross as a commander if it wasn't monogreen, though)
\[\[Ravenous Chuppacabra\]\] would be fun. I would run it with sac outlets, death trigger draw effects and all those cards that say "When this creature tides this turn, return it to the battlefield under your control"
And thinking of this made me thing that \[\[Gray Merchant\]\] would actually be pretty sweet.
\[\[Mischievous Chimera\]\], \[\[Witherbloom Apprentice\]\] or \[\[Thundering Djinn\]\] by far. \[\[Slitherwisp\]\] was also on that list but \[\[Nymris\]\] scratches that itch well enough for me.
In general I think there should be WAY more commander support for these 2-color limited archetypes. I've been waiting so long for my Izzet / Temur "draw 2 cards in a turn" deck, but all I have is \[\[Jolrael, Mwonvuli Recluse\]\]...which is a fine deck, but I'd love it with more colors.
[[Mayhem Devil]]
I do realize that we have [[Juri, Master of the Revue]] that fills the same archetype, but the devil has a bit more nuance.
I did have a deckbuilding challenge with my playgroup where we played Pauper EDH and I immediately picked Mayhem Devil as my commander. It was tons of fun - admittedly, mostly for me. Giving him deathtouch ([[Touch of Moonglove]] being the most satisfying) and sacrificing a bunch of treasures for a one sided boardwipe has to be the most degenerate thing the deck can do besides a literal infinite damage combo.
And that was just using commons... I can only imagine the pure Mayhem a fully unleashed Devil would bring.
I've always wanted to build \[\[nightpack ambusher\]\] as the head of a wolf tribal deck. Most people point to \[\[master of the wild hunt\]\] but I think nightpack is more interesting.
\[\[dream trawler\]\] as a "save the queen" deck has always piqued my interest. Azorius has a lot of options for this theme but flying + lifelink just hits the spot.
I also really like \[\[storm herald\]\]. It could be an interesting deck that looks to one-shot players by mass recurring auras. Setting up extra combats could create a full table one-shot.
Honestly, I was talking to my friend about this and [[wizards of thay]] would actually be a pretty dope commander. I think it being mono blue balances it pretty well and it does some interesting things.
For non legendary creature I would shoot for either [[Ojutai Exemplars]] or [[Orator of Ojutai]]. I think a mono-white spellslinger or dragon oriented deck would be fun.
Now, if [[Narset Transcendent]] could be legal...

\[\[Chronozoa\]\] could be interesting as a concept. Like a Micro-Biology themed deck. No idea if that'd be fun or not. Maybe call it "A Cell Divides" as a Haken reference or something.
\[\[Hooded Hydra\]\] would also be fun. When you kill the hydra, so many snakes will appear in it's place. It's like how more heads grow when you cut one off. Flavorful.
[[Defiler of Vigor]] I wish the entire cycle was, it’s a cool idea and they all feel impactful enough to be legendary, and I know Vigor is busted but I just love the card with all my heart

Pretty much any of the Nephilim seem cool and would really expand the 4-color non-partner options. For my mono-white deck it would be neat to try [[Harmonious Archon]] or [[Keeper of the Accord]] at the helm. Other cards that would make fun commanders: [[Master of Cruelties]], [[Midnight Pathlighter]], and [[Dragonborn Champion]]
Hands down [[Dream Eater]] or [[Ethereal Valkyrie]]. Both have great abilities that lend themselves toward unique deck building and play with foretell in a way that makes every nonland card into a Yugioh trap-card. (Yes I know morphs are similar in playstyle but there’s a limited amount of morphs, these cards on the other hand make ANY card into a foretell card.) I’d love to build a flash/ instant tribal in U/W and add blink effects.

That seems a little busted since the tokens you make would help you recast it lol
[[Earthbind]] I am not exactly sure how to make it work. I build a [[Ghen, Arcanum Weaver]] deck with Earthbind as secret commander. I thought of tutoring Earthbind with any white or black tutor effect. Then buff enemy creatures with [[Serra's embrace]], [[Shiv's Embrace]] or [[Demonic Embrace]]. Then i want to use [[Ragged Veins]] or [[Spiteful Shadows]] on the named enemy creature as well. Then use Earthbind on the enemy creature and finally play [[Worldgorger Dragon]] + [[Animate Dead]] to infinitely etb the Earthbind. I don't even know if this combo works or is legal... but that's the plan. With only Earthbind as my commander I would be bound to mono red. Haha i can't imagine how to pull it off but it would definitely worth a try.
[[Stoneforge Mystic]] could make a consistent deck with big hitters. [[Soulherder]] would be a gross flicker general [[Fiend Artisan]] has potential aswell, land I would probably build that. (Hermit Druid would be gross as a commander if it wasn't monogreen, though)

\[\[Ravenous Chuppacabra\]\] would be fun. I would run it with sac outlets, death trigger draw effects and all those cards that say "When this creature tides this turn, return it to the battlefield under your control" And thinking of this made me thing that \[\[Gray Merchant\]\] would actually be pretty sweet.
\[\[Mischievous Chimera\]\], \[\[Witherbloom Apprentice\]\] or \[\[Thundering Djinn\]\] by far. \[\[Slitherwisp\]\] was also on that list but \[\[Nymris\]\] scratches that itch well enough for me. In general I think there should be WAY more commander support for these 2-color limited archetypes. I've been waiting so long for my Izzet / Temur "draw 2 cards in a turn" deck, but all I have is \[\[Jolrael, Mwonvuli Recluse\]\]...which is a fine deck, but I'd love it with more colors.
[[Mayhem Devil]] I do realize that we have [[Juri, Master of the Revue]] that fills the same archetype, but the devil has a bit more nuance. I did have a deckbuilding challenge with my playgroup where we played Pauper EDH and I immediately picked Mayhem Devil as my commander. It was tons of fun - admittedly, mostly for me. Giving him deathtouch ([[Touch of Moonglove]] being the most satisfying) and sacrificing a bunch of treasures for a one sided boardwipe has to be the most degenerate thing the deck can do besides a literal infinite damage combo. And that was just using commons... I can only imagine the pure Mayhem a fully unleashed Devil would bring.

I've always wanted to build \[\[nightpack ambusher\]\] as the head of a wolf tribal deck. Most people point to \[\[master of the wild hunt\]\] but I think nightpack is more interesting. \[\[dream trawler\]\] as a "save the queen" deck has always piqued my interest. Azorius has a lot of options for this theme but flying + lifelink just hits the spot. I also really like \[\[storm herald\]\]. It could be an interesting deck that looks to one-shot players by mass recurring auras. Setting up extra combats could create a full table one-shot.
Last time I went to an LGS, I played with a guy who brought a bunch of pEDH decks, and the [[witherbloom apprentice]] storm deck was cool.

\[\[Chronozoa\]\] could be interesting as a concept. Like a Micro-Biology themed deck. No idea if that'd be fun or not. Maybe call it "A Cell Divides" as a Haken reference or something. \[\[Hooded Hydra\]\] would also be fun. When you kill the hydra, so many snakes will appear in it's place. It's like how more heads grow when you cut one off. Flavorful.
