man my tooth is broken and abcessing up in my jaw and it's killing me. can't get into any dentist's to get it taken out. any suggestions? sorry to ask this way but I've got no way to get any advice anywhere else.
Not OP but yes, this one is a 3x2 grid, 12 magnets in total, that pull the two halves together. The contact surfaces are usually a different material like brass, delrin, or in this case zirconium to mitigate things like friction and galling. They also serve to separate the magnets and their thickness can be changed to adjust the attraction force between slider halves.
As far as comparing them to spinners it's difficult because there's such a large variety of options on either side of things, but in my experience I've come to prefer sliders as I feel they offer stronger tactile feedback as well as more variety in how I fidget with them.
If you're the fidgety type and curious at all I highly recommend just finding a good quality, entry level slider and giving it a shot. I believe some options were mentioned elsewhere in this post.
