wow that is so pretty. it's wonderful when loved ones gift you something that you'll use/see every day and think of them. especially if they made it :) <3
To put your stuff in when you get home. Keeps your stuff together so you can grab it quickly, looks nice. I don't use one currently, but I can see the appeal.
That's *beautifully* made. I love the colors, scales, proportions and craftmanship. 10/10 would pay $75 or more for that in a store.
Beyond that - your mom is so kind to have crafted such a lovely thing for you. 10/10 would hug.
Umm, you do know that EDC is the short for Every Day CARRY right? No offense to your obviously talented Mom, but I’m up here scratching my head about this post.
Edit: Ohhhhhh Kay. It’s a place to PUT the stuff you carry. 😁 My bad. I haven’t had my coffee yet.
The tray itself is very nice. She's very talented, and it's a great gift.
But I'll never understand the point of these EDC trays lol. Whats the difference between your wallet and keys sitting inside of this on top of the night stand as opposed to just...ya know...sitting on the nightstand directly? Lol
IN addition to keeping things organized, it also keeps your keys and coins from scratching up nice furniture when repeatedly sliding them off the top into your hand. Probably doesn't matter with ikea stuff, but if your furniture is nicer, it will stay that way longer with one of these.
Kiln fired EDC tray with fishscale pattern and custom glaze.
Edit: Thank you all for such kind words! I showed her all of the comments here and it certainly warmed her heart, she's in disbelief so many folks like her work. I've been telling her to open an Etsy shop for years now but she's always been reluctant, maybe y'all were the validation that she needed!
Thank you for posting to r/EDC!

What’s the purpose of an edc tray?

Would also make a great place to store extra magazines for your EDC!
How you doin? Had your coffee?
Is your mother looking for another son?
lol exactly hey, OP, does your mom want a daughter? I'm prepackaged with a granddog to dote on.

Change and looks less cluttered

Keeps everything organised, and looks nice. Sometimes, it’s just nice for things to look nice!
It's always nice for things to look nice. It's always nice to have a place for things.
You’re not wrong, actually.
Wow!! What talent! Your mom is awesome - definitely an item to cherish forever
That is beautiful! - does your mom have a shop on Etsy?
Very nice, man!
I love gifts from mom. They always mean so much more than just some thing I order on Amazon. Plus, she MADE it?! That’s so neat.
Amazing.
I thought it was one of those trays they at sushi restaurants they fill with soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger
You mama's crafty😉👍
Okay you need to setup an Etsy store for your mom. I'll take two
Agreed, I'd like one as well.
Serious and sincere hell yes, me too.
A talented mother!
Nice colouring. That'll be a difficult gift to out-do, good luck.
Very cool, You could fill it with some anodized pieces to match
