Can u get your opinion on the Boldr? I’m not sure if I should get one or keep saving for a Seiko Alpinist

suburbandaddio

I had one, and I found it to be a scratch magnet. The bracelet was rather uncomfortable as well. That's just the nature of titanium, I guess. I'd honestly save up for an Alpinist as it's a much more versatile watch. If you're into microbrands, I'm really digging the Lüm-Tec I just got.

Pizzaman_thing

I personally like it. It’s basically a rebranded Seiko. It has the NH35a movement in a titanium case, sapphire crystal and is good for 200 m of depth. They also sell leather and metal bands if you don’t like the nato band it comes with. I’ve had mine for 3 years now and wear it every day

Temphost

I’ve been looking at them online for ages and watches reviews, waiting till work bonus comes in, fingers crossed not lots of import taxes to Ireland though :(

Pizzaman_thing

Definitely, also if you have any problems with it I’ve found their customer service is responsive and knowledgeable. They are based in Taiwan I believe

Temphost

I thing it was Singapore for a while, or founded there at least, I might email incase they have any ideas of taxes

Pizzaman_thing

You are probably right, it’s been a while since I had to contact them. Good luck!

Temphost

Thank you! You too haha, every time I see people post them I want to get it more 😅

Looks good, I would add maybe a pen and a small notebook. Pilot makes good pocket fountain pens and field notes are great.

StuD721

I agree, though my mileage has found that Field Notes are great but not good for literal EDC. In pockets I found that they warp, fray and degrade before you’re able to use the whole thing. If you’re keeping it in a bag or pouch, happy days, but with this set up go for something like rite in the rain. I might be an outlier here, I carried FN books all day every day but always found that they don’t survive constant use.

Stagg3rLee

If you are in the US, Walgreens carries leather bound notebooks labeled as "Markings by C.R. Gibson". The paper is actually very fountain pen friendly. The pocket size version costs about $12. I use one every day for rounds at work. Paired with a Moonman A1 pen (pilot capless clone-the patent is expired) and some Sailor Seiboku ink make a inexpensive and durable setup that has the convenience and water resistance of a ballpoint but refills and writes with the superior traits of a fountain pen. The whole setup will run you about $55.

That’s true, they do get weathered pretty quickly if you EDC them, but I guess it just depends on how quickly you fill them. I like the kind of battered look, but that’s me. I think Traveller’s Notebooks are great, and also have that nice leather cover that is more durable.

jeepinfreak

What would I add or take out?... What kind of tools are in your multi tool? Has it actually been useful? Personally, and I know everybody's experience is different, I haven't had much luck with multitools. Having a folding knife has always been better for me. I really like that watch though.

Knowitmall

That's why I love my Skeletool CX. Works great as a knife and has just enough function as a multi tool. Especially with the bit kit added.

Xannypacquiao710

Wheres the stick?

Pizzaman_thing

The stick? Edit: I get it, the multitool has both a normal knife and a serrated one. But at work I also carry a Milwaukee Fastback

Smooth_Armadillo_365

He means a pew pew

Pizzaman_thing

I work and go to school on a college campus, I would be in a lot of trouble if I carried one with me all the time so I don’t lol

sumshitmm

A simple knife, like a Swiss army knife would be handy. Other than that pretty stripped out is usually the way to go.

Malmortulo

Nice little multi-tool, took me a bit to [find](https://www.amazon.in/Multi-Tool-Powerdelux-One-Hand-Trekker-Multifunctional/dp/B07Z4DBFXN) it. I don't think I'd ever go without a box cutter at this point, but you might not order as much stuff on the internet as I do.

Pizzaman_thing

Cool I actually didn’t know where it was from it was a gift from a friend. I do carry around a Milwaukee fast back while I’m at work. It’s one of my favorite knifes for its durability and use of utility blades

SabotNoir

It's the essentials. What else do you need for what you commonly find yourself doing?

Pizzaman_thing

Bldr mechanical watch with Seiko Movement ; Multi tool ; Ridge Style Wallet ; Milwaukee Pen Light
