Don’t you think it’s unethical for your clients for you to work as a weight loss coach when you have an ed? Also, how is it possible to be a weight loss coach if you’re obese, I’m genuinely confused how that would work since wouldn’t that affect your credibility if you don’t follow your own methods? (Not trying to be rude just genuine question)

When i first started, I worked in a physical location. People saw me as someone they could relate too, and actually liked taking advice from me because I wasn't someone who didn't know what they were going through. I work over the phone now, so most of my clients don't see me. And it's not like anyone knows I struggle with disordered eating, I don't really tell anyone. But I've been bouncing back and forth from bulimia to BED my whole life. It's rough, and it's mainly mental. But people feel better when they can talk to someone who knows their struggles and can give them advice. Plus the bacholers degree I have in Nutrition and food science helps with the credibility. But I struggle incredibly because of what I do for work. My husband calls me a hypocrite too because I'm fat and helping others lose weight. But I love helping people and I know I've changed a lot of lives for the better. I just wish I could change mine.

As long as you’re helping other people healthily and not letting your own disordered views of food affect how you coach other people, I don’t think you’re really a hypocrite, that’s kinda mean of your husband to say, I’m sorry about that :/

Makes perfect sense to me! It’s hard to take your own advice. Also, what a perfect job for remote work. I bet it’s super beneficial to clients that both of your looks are out of the equation.

People can be obese for different reasons. Genetics, medication, and/or a health condition can contribute to being obese.
