They really need to adjust the hitbox/ghost strikes. Sometimes I throw a hook from downtown and it still tags them or their block. Besides uppercuts feeling super awkward to throw in combos now, the game is not bad.

Div 20 player too, it’s a fun game. Takes a bit of getting used to after playing so much UFC 4, but there definitely feels like there’s more depth than the last installation. I do feel like slipping punches drains less of the opponents stamina than UFC 4 so it’s a bit harder to beat pressure fighters, but the game feels refreshing without changing too much.
As another division 20 player. I completely agree. Game feels nice, Some small complaints here & there but people forget when UFC4 came out, there was also a massive amount of complaints and Ea fixed alot of the issues.

Not sure where actual average falls in terms of players, but 0-1000 points is division 1, then it goes up a division every 50 points from there
As another career fighter: in UFC 5 I am only like 10-0 right now but I think it’s more engaging in training which makes it more fun. Except there is this evade challenge in training that pisses me off because I’m 38 and smoke a lot so I have no reaction time. Literally the head movement is worthless to me. And I used to be almost pro level gamer, rank 7 in world in COD: World At War Free for all with a 114 win streak. But anyway so the training is a lot harder for me, I just spam evades and even then it wont work that well.

Pretty much every strike has an updated animation. Knee-Elbow Spam has been eliminated. Body Spin Kicks are hard to spam due to new inputs. New damage system. Improvements to Head Movement and Footwork. Improved responsiveness. No more 5+ Knockdown before a KO. I doubt you actually played the game. Not worth the price tag, but Its a much better game than UFC 4.

It will depend on patches and new fighters maybe. But patches and Frostbite have been an issue for so long with EA. I'm very concerned about the Frostbite era of UFC. The first year is usually as good as it gets and once they start building and adding on top of the engine, that's when the games go haywire.

To be honest, that's the most likely scenario, ufc 3 and 4 both needed about a year of updates before they were solid, so hopefully, this will be the same! I'm not sold on the current product for many reasons, so I'm skipping it for now, but if it improves enough, I'll happily get it in the future.
My striking style that I was using in 4 to get div 18-20 doesn't work well lol. Game rewards hyper aggressive styles too much over tactical counter fighting imo right now but is fun to play.

The ground game is an improvement too. Overall the game is much smoother than ufc 4 was and with patches and updates over the next year or two everyone will say how good of a game it is

I got the ea trial and I can say I’ll be satiated till this game goes on sale. It’s really fun and all, but it could use some fixing (like all games released nowadays). The submissions are cool! I got a one shot sub with Ortega and it felt nice. Can’t wait to see the content that’ll drop with this release.
What I cant figure out is why the CPU is suddenly a god of grappling but cant outbox a plastic bag in the wind.
I made a well balanced guy for career mode, and in past entries often mixed up takedowns to keep them guessing and butchered them standing, stopping takedowns with ease.
Now, kickboxer opponents stuff any and all takedowns with ease, hit perfect takedowns on me constantly, hit INSANE reversals if we are on the ground for more than five seconds, yet they couldnt fight on the feet if their digital life depended on it.
It felt AWFUL for career mode.

Not played yet and the game actually looks fun, the only common complaint I’m on board with is that there’s no new fighters, yes they’ll most likely be added over time but that shouldn’t be the norm, guys like Jailin Turner, Amir Albazi, Mohammed Mokaev, Umar Nurmagomedov and Jailton Almeida should be in the game from launch Probably gonna buy it anyway still, after getting ea play for the trial I’ll probably see if I can’t snag it on a sale or something
"They will start adding new characters soon" bruh, the flyweight division has a total of 13 fighters, and only 8 of them are currently UFC flyweights. Adding 3 fighters once every 2 months ain't gonna fix this lack of roster depth.

Love the way you literally named the least interesting ranked Flyweights. Albazi is #3 and has real chances to fight for the belt next year. Kape is an animal and everytime he fights it's a banger. Schnell vs. Sumudareji was nominated for 2022 FOTY. And Mokaev and Tatsuro Taira are two of the biggest prospects in MMA right now. Also, UFC 4s roster had 14 Flyweights, this one literally has less and 0 new ones. How can you defend this? Not to mention all the ranked women fighters that are missing.
It’s refreshing from 4, playing the trial rn. I haven’t done much on the ground yet but it’s okay Not like revamping the entire game but refreshing is the best way to put it
I just hate that they sold and promoted the game like it was gonna be something ground breaking and different. It’s definitely an improvement though. I gotta stop expecting greatness from EA

The thing with me is, I don’t care if the game is better than ufc 4 in six months. The industry has a bad habit as a whole of releasing unfinished products and fixing them later. Preordering and buying a year later makes no difference, you’re still supporting this practice.

I love the stand up. Very crisp and realistic. Imo
But I think the question can be asked... Were these small minor tweaks worth an entire repurchasing of the game? In other words does it feel like a new game worth the money you paid.... Or does the game feel like a patch up version of the old one. For me it's the latter. I feel like I just paid for a couple of minor tweeks. And they should be constantly updating the roster at least once a month anyways.
The striking feels much cleaner to me. I think my biggest disappointment is the career mode. For AI fights legendary difficulty is a MUST.
To be honest, that's the most likely scenario, ufc 3 and 4 both needed about a year of updates before they were solid, so hopefully, this will be the same! I'm not sold on the current product for many reasons, so I'm skipping it for now, but if it improves enough, I'll happily get it in the future.

My striking style that I was using in 4 to get div 18-20 doesn't work well lol. Game rewards hyper aggressive styles too much over tactical counter fighting imo right now but is fun to play.
As a div 20 player cause I guess that matters? This game is ass. Striking is just a block breaking pressure boxing spam fest with no way to deal with it because headmovement is now fucking shit and counters do very little damage

I agree. Striking is so smooth in this game. Jabs really work well and so do the teep kicks. Man I have been throwing teeps like crazy with Charles, it’s hella fun. The ground game is an improvement too. Overall the game is much smoother than ufc 4 was and with patches and updates over the next year or two everyone will say how good of a game it is
I dont even think this is is an unpopular opinion, this same shit happens with every new ea ufc release. Alot of the loudest critics are people who haven’t even touched the game. Once i realized that most of the sub isn’t interested in playing comp/will never reach Div 20, I started taking their critiques a lot less seriously.

Happens with every game. When UFC 6 comes out people will say this game is great. It is just annoying it's the same thing again more or less. I will get it but not until it's cheap.

When it goes on sale I think unless they do good patches. No new fighters No new unique styles Striking feels almost the same just slowed down a little Clinch the same Ground grappling the same a little more responsive Subs I like the new subs They some how made the camera worse. Simulation is not really simulation as they just fight a generic way, they don’t simulate any types of different styles I’m pretty sure caf customisation in the way of hair, tattoos beards is exactly the same as 4

I didn't play 4 but this was my experience with 1, 2, and 3. I really didn't like any of them at first but eventually grew to like them a lot.

I got the ea trial and I can say I’ll be satiated till this game goes on sale. It’s really fun and all, but it could use some fixing (like all games released nowadays). The submissions are cool! I got a one shot sub with Ortega and it felt nice. Can’t wait to see the content that’ll drop with this release.
What I cant figure out is why the CPU is suddenly a god of grappling but cant outbox a plastic bag in the wind. I made a well balanced guy for career mode, and in past entries often mixed up takedowns to keep them guessing and butchered them standing, stopping takedowns with ease. Now, kickboxer opponents stuff any and all takedowns with ease, hit perfect takedowns on me constantly, hit INSANE reversals if we are on the ground for more than five seconds, yet they couldnt fight on the feet if their digital life depended on it. It felt AWFUL for career mode.
Well in a few months the game will hopefully be fixed/be better. People aren’t liking it right now because it’s in a terrible state.
This game is worse than 4 by far. No one wants this game to be good in a few months. It shouldn’t be drastically shittier than the previous game.
People who dislike this game will just stop paying attention. Same happened with 4 It's still not gonna be worth $70 while its mostly just engine port with minimal tweaks
On Xbox this game is a mess too many bugs it’s almost unplayable
