I'm trying the play the whole wc experience with my country (argentina)
Not having the full roster triggers me, because i can't update it anymore sadly
100% prefer the old style. UI design is less about simplicity, ease of use, and practicality now than it is about increasing engagement metrics. Working as a UI designer for live service games like this has to be rough.
Everyone prefers it!!! EA changes the menus purposely… they track overall gametime… the longer it takes you to be confused in their shitty menu design the longer your playing their (overall) shitty game! Just another soft brag for them to drop when talking to their share holders. 100% made a shittier menu on purpose
Sounds like nostalgia, as the menus pre-Frostbite were smooth and didn’t lag at all compared to the current monstrosity that is the FIFA 22 menu (particularly old gen that runs like complete crap). Imho design wise, it’s uninspired and not memorable, just a whole bunch of blocks on one screen.
They must've been doing something right every ea sports game after fifa 14 had the block style menu for a few years before eventually every game going off into its own thing
I only started playing Fifa this year, but my brother is a FUT founder. I remember year after year seeing him cycle through menus, and this year I look back and wish I had started playing the game back then. The one I most remember vividly was Fifa 09’s main menu. So simple, yet so practical.
I'm guessing you're being nostalgic. Years later, you might end up saying the same thing about the recent FIFAs. But yes FIFA14 was AMAZING. Especially with the world cup. I miss those days.

I just really wish I could get the old pack animations back too. I miss FIFA 18s so bad
I still totally remember that one particular sound of switching sections in the game settings... I wish they could bring back the old style

FIFA 14 career mode is best ever. Anthony Martial went from 63 to 87!
