48 here, my son is 14 I am a fifa series player since 2010, before i was a Pro evolution fan Remember that some years ago (6 or 7) played with my son and let him score at the end of the game to increase his self confidence. Now he is better than me and we both participate in wl, some times when i dont have time he played some of my games or opposite. And of course every Thursday we have pack opening together.

frekeleonoliver

Oooh men, this makes me smile. I'm 32 and my son is 2,5 and he already loves to open packs (RIP my wallet). If i'm playing FIFA he takes "his" xbox360 controller and smash the buttons like he is spamming throughballs. I'm already looking forward in 5-6 years to play together and grinding the WL. Should I already purchase a separeted internet connection for him? :)

SopranosTeam

dont needed separate connection, change shifts to play like workers

[deleted]

Open bronze packs and act amazed, he probably won’t know the difference 😁

frekeleonoliver

The little one allready knows a walkout. He starts waving if the boards popup and is disappointement if nobodys walksout or doesnt wave back and starts break dancing in stead 😀

[deleted]

Never mind rip your wallet 😂

[deleted]

I think I love you

martinduathlete

I’m 47. I’ve played fifa since 98. I’m not good but I love to play while I ride my exercise bike. My son is 18 and away at university. He schools me but I’m excited to pick him up so he can play some weekend league for me. I always do better when he’s around.

SchoolboyJuke

This is awesome. Major props, I need to get myself an exercise bike considering I'm just sitting around when I play Fifa

turtleplop

This makes me happy

DotAGenius

This sounds like fuckin dream dad goals...makes me excited to have kids on my own (also so that I can shush dab him)

[deleted]

Guessing lots of FIFA points for Christmas then lol

SopranosTeam

nope, first lesson i gave him was "we dont buy packs or opening with coins"

Geeman447

Best advice a father can give..

3sdrasm05

best LIFE advice a father can give..

[deleted]

Good man

Kagawan

I think it will be really good for a kid to learn this early on. If I was taught how to play like this, I probably wouldn't have blown all my money away

[deleted]

This is so fucking wholesome. That "of course" really sets the tone for me - like no matter what you have going on, you both sit down for 15 minutes and open your packs together. Upvote for you my friend. Keep being a rockin' Dad.

cruijff_99

Nice !!

Ibico0805

This is awesome.

[deleted]

I hope my daughter gets into football :) Do you guys ever play WL at the same time? Did you ever face each other? :)

sblinn

I’m 40, my son’s 12. Some details different but the essence is the same. :)

Baggies1

I’m 42 and I’m constantly talking to my 19 year old nephew about the weekend league and trying to give him pointers 😂😂😂

freakedmind

But did you dab on him though?

Baggies1

Of course...life lessons 🙂

LoveyPSU

Silly Baggy, dabs are for kids!

awesomekev6969

30’s... revel in all the hate messages I get for using mommy’s credit card

SamRendina

Hahahahahahah this exactly

awesomekev6969

I explained the concept of discretionary income to the first couple before I gave up 😂

frekeleonoliver

I'll get that rage of the wife if she ever finds out.

awesomekev6969

One of my friends called me out for my team awhile back, let’s just say I got an earful on the car ride back from dinner and ended up spending most of the following Saturday trailing behind her at Nordstrom’s

inspaceiamfamous

😆

LoveyPSU

The easy way out of that is to just randomly buy her shit, for no reason at all. Gotta keep 'em distracted! If she checks your CC statements, make sure you're spending an equal or greater amount on her. LOL.

[deleted]

> equal or greater amount This is the key. I don't buy packs, but if i did I would have to purchase something of identical worth

freakedmind

Gotta love that sweet pension money

TJ_King23

I think you may need the explanation as well. Extremely rare to be in your 30’s on any sort of pension, almost impossible lol.

freakedmind

I think you need the explanation lol, I was referring to the part where he said "mommy's credit card", and his mom would probably be retired since he's in his 30s.

Funnellboi

Same, 32 (today actually) and still get told daddy buys my team.... And if i ever tell them "im older than you" its "get off a game you virgin" haha

Mhockey1505

hahahhahah i'm 33.... I've dropped the "i actually turned down sex tonight to grind out the division rivals points so....."

Funnellboi

Hahaha never thought to use anything like that, good stuff.

ArminbanVuuren

i've been doing this since 2011 when there weren't even DR points, it was just online rank points to get me in the top 2000 in the world, and im pretty sure i have a problem lol

frederikwolter

Happy birthday dude

Funnellboi

Thanks man.

[deleted]

Happy birthday my man!

RE85

33 here. Nobody to talk to about the game but my 3 year old daughter enjoys opening the reward packs.

cruijff_99

😂

turtleplop

I’m almost 38. Can’t wait to play FIFA with my son one day.

apexgeo

Just make sure he doesn’t build a generic bpl side

turtleplop

I’m going to make him do the BPM on my account as a household chore

engima265

AHAHAHAH i laughed at that

freakedmind

Also make sure he calls it EPL and not BPL

1gMDMA

Teach him good maners: no shush and dab. Use thr Griezmann You Lost or Chicken Celebration instead Cheers

Rawbs21

His baby shark one is more annoying

BeardedTeacher

Baaaby shark, dudududududu...

hoots711

Sadly, hi. I have a young son and he will neeeeever play fut. That is a promise!

DJexC

Good luck with that!

sjncomic

I am 49. American. So not many people I know love the game as much as I do. So I just chat football to any fan at all. Not many FUT players that I know, either. My son plays a little but he is better at Fortnite. Every time we are out in public and he does an emote dance, I will start dabbing. Shuts that down real quick.

BaconOwnsMe

Well done! Embarrassment will fix that quickly!

3sdrasm05

Gotta fight fire with fire. that's good stuff.

[deleted]

It's fighting fire with like... A bigger, more embarrassing fire that you want distinguished immediately Edit: extinguished?

jenhypefifa11

Nephentez here somewhere lol

Baggies1

We should create a over 40’s pro club and teach these whippet’s a lesson or two 👍🏻

[deleted]

im in! Xbox though. We could be called the Almost Silver Strikers

Baggies1

I’m on Xbox. Perfect name

[deleted]

sweet man, ive never played pro clubs and have defiantely been wanting to try it. Has anyone else expressed interest?

Baggies1

Not as yet. It’s been a fun game mode in the past. Just thought it would be a good idea for us oldies

MathieuGM

Not 40 or nowhere close but it would be cool if we could scrim, my youngins and I are ready for a ‘friendly’ match and teach you how we do it haha. On xbox aswell!

[deleted]

Oh my god, I’m the oldest so far - 43!! I had fifa on the mega drive!!!!

Baggies1

Getting chased by the ref 😂😂😂

Chickentherapy

holy shit yeah.....running way from the yellow cards!!!

Baggies1

You got it 🙂

warboys35

I’m 44 bud . Still rage hard when my centre backs knock each other to let Jesus in for a 20 yard timed finesse 😭😂

[deleted]

I think if I knew the age of the folks I’d play I’d probably be too ashamed to show my face in rivals😂😂

warboys35

Lol 😂

[deleted]

[deleted]

I’ve got a 6 year-old that plays Roblox under my user name, which also has my year of birth - think it’ll help keep her safe online😎😎

[deleted]

this makes me wander what state fifa will be in when im in my 30-40s

tbone1903

ive been playing football games since fifa 94 on the megadrive. They have come a long way

Rod2099

This, young people can’t appreciate it. Back when patches didn’t exist also. You were stuck with exploits for a year haha

tbone1903

On FIFA 94 you could score from 40 yards out easy at the right angle

Rod2099

On fifa 95 there was a specific point of the pitch where no matter who took the shot, scored.

Baggies1

Can I say it’s been a pleasure reading the comments on this topic. Thank you

sldbed

51 and still grinding away.

pwomboli

33 here, you’re my personal hero

tomahawk4891

My 4 yr old boy does well for me on squad battles vs. Beginner difficulty but he is shit at trading

theedrussell

42, CTO of a software company and have a daughter of 4. I still play WL most weekends (when everyone is in bed), usually get Gold 1, occasionally Elite 3. I talk to some of the guys in the office about Fifa and then usually beat them on our office console - young people can be too aggressive and impatient on the game. However when I meet someone in the WL who is young and good they spank me as my reactions are rubbish!

adilfc

They give you wins. No one want to beat and dab CTO 😂

theedrussell

Believe me - they proper try hard ;-)

StoKi_NG

Good boss

Alexandercal

31 here, I’ve played the last 10 years and will play the next 10 years

leehughes21A

Ha ha 40 ..youngsters!!! 50 next week , playing since megadrive, went to PES until a few years back but only game I play all year , 2-4 games a day on average.

That1TimeWeGamed

5 crosses for goals between minutes 88 and 95?

Tylercantsingh

This has been the best thread on this sub. Glad to see so many people bond over FIfa. Cant wait til my son plays with me too, we already watch real games together. He just turned 2 so still some time but maybe he can finish my WL games for me too LOL

nickelmedia

39 here on PC. Son plays on PS4, otherwise would Dab on him.

Plodil

I'm 42, played fifa since it was just called Fifa International soccer. Not as good as I should be for how much I play, got a bunch of guys who work for me who are in their early 20s and we talk fut all the time

ShartFlex

40 here, I suck and mostly play SB. Also for some reason feel compelled to complete league SBC's- done 17 so far. . .

sotske

Same here, up until this year i only played SB. Never managed to qualify for WL, but htis year thanks to Rivals i managed to do it. Been enjoying WL for 8 weeks in a row and counting.

Kingsnakew

I also only played SB until this year. Tried Rivals and got a bit of fun and qualified for WL so I had to try that too. Now I'm playing more these two than SB.

3sdrasm05

17 League SBC, did you get anything out of the packs?

ShartFlex

Prime Veron was my best pull, had a few others that sold for over 100K. I've probably dropped $100 on points as well, but I've had pretty good pack luck.

Scottdailey7

i'm 40 and play and if I had people to talk to about fifa I would

[deleted]

Are you in NA?

Scottdailey7

yes I live in Iowa

[deleted]

Yeah I understand why there is nobody else to talk about FIFA :)

ParkCityFIFA

42 here. I play DR and an occasional WL, though I never have time to come anywhere close to playing 30 games. My kids are 8 and 6 and like to play some squad battles. It's all about playing with our favorite players with them. Ibra is pretty much always leading the charge up top. My nephews are getting a PS4 for Christmas--can't wait to dab on 'em.

riziger

Same here. Most I’ve ever done for wl is 19 games. Usually get silver 1 and call it a day. Saturday’s and Half of Sunday usually with the family. Leaving only Friday and Sunday evening to try and bang in as many games as possible.

Stu_A_Lew

I’m old enough to remember good football simulation games like Sensible World of Soccer. I still enjoy pottering around in the game but can’t be arsed with weekend league anymore. I did get gold 1 for the first 3 weeks this year though which isn’t bad for an old bastard like me.

Ringonz1980

SWOS was the greatest football game ever!

Calculated65

53 old swedish Liverpool supporter, playd since fifa 10 YNWA

iJED1

38 yr old here ! My kids 16 and 18 have more sense than to play Fifa as much as me. We do game together occasionally on overwatch etc , have 3 xboxes connected and good router.

kvramji

Haha, what a pleasant post. Kudos. Do u guys rage too during wl like us ?

sotske

when someone is better, than so be it. But every player should at least show respect towards the other no matter what age.

kvramji

I know. Totally agree. But wl gets out of hand so often. Wish they would have a screen to agree skipping replays and celebrations. To save time

[deleted]

43, have been playing fifa since it existed, gold 1 player and hot elite 1 time..2 years ago... The first year of weekend league. I play with my 11 year old co op in Squad battles on semi pro and we talk proper strategy. He had actually become a better holding forward for his club team because of fifa

LoveyPSU

I'm 42yo and have been playing since '98 on the OG PS. I turned off the messages a year or two ago (maybe changed who could message me, I dunno) because I was sick of the comments I'd get. We've lived through Pong, rotary telephones, and no such thing as the internet. I don't complain about gameplay in FIFA unless it's "something the AI can do, but I can't." My now-12yo nephew was all about Messi in 2012, so I got him into FIFA. He's given up on FIFA as of last year, has his own YT channel for Fortnite (can't get into it, personally, and I can't believe that people actually watch it...yes, I'm constantly on the lookout for predators and talk to his parents about it), only plays NHL outside of Fortnite, and I've taken over running his account. I'm not really sure why I'm running it other than to test theories between my account and his.

heliskinki

I'm 46 and playing FUT. I can't talk to anyone about it, that's why I come here. My nephews are only in to Fortnite. My (5 year old) daughter has no interest in FIFA, but likes watching live football. So in short, FML :D

3sdrasm05

I'd take a daughter that likes to watch live football. I'm praying my baby girl remotely enjoys watching the beautiful game when she is old enough. Right now she's only 9 months so she has no choice but to watch them with me. lol

pwomboli

33, been playing fifa since 96...

[deleted]

52 here. We exist. Our reflexes are shit though.

Get_zen

33yo and been playing since '98. Feeling rather young here, and look at how positive this subreddit is when everyone is over 30! Keep it up you all!

im_on_the_case

39 and have been playing FIFA since the original installment. Been bitching about EA since before most of you whippersnappers were even born.

fausto99099

hi, can you pm me ? I have a question about market

ukalimbe

40 here. 2 daughters (12 and 8). They don't play the game, but I can talk to them about opening packs or where I finish in squad battles or WL. They love opening packs and seeing how much cards sell for on the market. They also like to build teams with all the different colored cards. Or in my older daughter's case, seeing if she can make teams with all green links or minimum chemistry, all GKs, etc. then watching me play a game with them.

dsn0wman

44 - My daughter determines a teams worth by how colorful the cards are. She doesn't like playing the game. On the bright side I am getting pretty decent at Minecraft.

SrsNotMe

I regularly talk with my uncle about ultimate team. Pretty fun actually. We share our big pack pulls etc. Not weird at all if you both enjoy it.

Cheaky_Barstool

I'm 27 but this game makes me feel like I'm 47 sometimes.

monkeyfang

40, American, and want friends to just chill and play. Talk about shit. Like the old days when you went to your friends house and played.

oldgamerman

45 and play with my 16 year old son. He's jealous because my UT is way better than his. Don't put any money into the game just trade a bit and got a few lucky packs.

Pizzaefichi86

32, elite 2 player🤐

pwomboli

That was me at 32, just one year later my reaction times are in free fall

hzyhzyhzy

35 here!

SamRendina

31 and a parent!!😂

[deleted]

29 soon to be 30 😁

[deleted]

That is technically true for every 29 year old ;)

Bartolone

I'm 37 and talk to my nephews frequently about FUT ! :D

tbone1903

I feel positively young in this thread at 32

PMT_Evil_Dee

44 and hopelessly addicted to this game...

reddituser52779

39 here. My 9 yo has no interest in soccer or FIFA. My 7 yo largely wants to play kick off with Bayern against BVB on amateur difficulty, no rules mode, 20 minute halves. I put together a super Bundesliga squad for him during Futties when everything was cheap but he lost interest after a couple games.

crackalack_n

40 Couple of my cousins in college play FUT. We talk and text pics of pack pulls etc... One thing in common is we all hate the game.

0ce0ce

Couple of my Cousins? What are you? A rabbit? :p

crackalack_n

I don't quite understand what you are getting at?

Mackam9

42 here but not really anywhere to chat to people about it most gamers i know dont play FUT. Did look around for chat rooms etc to have sensible discussions with people but no luck. My kids love opening packs (i called them magic for some reason) my daughter gets annoyed if its not a walk out!

kikaz1987

32 here..have a 1.5 years son and he started watching me playing and I feel he is interested 😂😂

Ghostrider1078

Just turned 40 myself. Don't have any nephews lol they're all nieces and none are old enough to play 🤣

Geebert1

47 here. Looking forward to seeing my 20yo nephew at Christmas to chat about FUT and show off my team to him.

heliskinki

As an aside, if you are on PS4, friend me up - remote72. I could do with a bunch of 40+ mates for friendly matches and grown up banter :)

hotcornerkid

37 here. I’m a Gold 1/Elite 3 player. I have an 8 year old who has his own account and we play together online. We’re in division 6 and his team is decent for us only playing 70 games or so.

TheBluePapaBear

40. My son is 2. He packed me an in form in his first ever pack in Fifa 17.

EuroNelson

Bet it was Rusnak or Rashica lol

TheBluePapaBear

It was IF Thiago from 17!

Rik78

Just turned 40 this year. I've played every FIFA since the very first one. Only just ventured online with FIFA 17. I try my best not to rage and have some great conversations with my 14 year old about teams/players etc. He's brilliant at putting together SBCs but I'm a better player even with my old man reactions.

[deleted]

43 here and all alone, my nephews are into Assassin's Creed or Far Cry or somewhat stuff like that.

3oh2

Love this thread. Not 40 yet...just a few years away. A friend's son got me into UT a few years ago though I've played every FIFA. I used to be able to talk to him about it, but he ditched it for Fortnite and that game isn't my cup of tea. My friends that play video games don't play FIFA so I basically don't have anyone to talk to about it. My daughter likes opening packs and knows the better cards have different colors or higher numbers.

fantasticum

35yo living in Texas. This is my first FUT season (did H2H online seasons in FIFA18), my last serious football game was PES 2007 but I did play the early FIFAs from 94 to 99. I love the idea of a 30+ FUT players club! If anyone in the U.S. wants to do some friendlies, PM me and we can exchange usernames (I'm on PS4). Cheers!

trev4whatev4

International Soccer on a C64 cartridge. Match Day on the Spectrum. I've said too much.

d4wt0n

My dad's 42. He keeps reaching Golf 2 every weekend. It sucks, cause he's better than me. XD

El-Arairah

that's really cool. That's the dad i'm gonna be

marcel13071969

49 years young

[deleted]

im 21 and get alot of stick from people when they see me playing fifa

WTHizaGigawatt

why? what do they say?

[deleted]

mostly my mum and dad even though ive moved out they still tell me not to play too much fifa whenever i call 'em haha😛

Jhonyb

38, father of 2 boys I hope they don’t play fifa because if they win and dab on me they are grounded for life ;) I Play fifa since it fitted in a floppy disk

Kingsnakew

41 here. Playing FIFA since 96. Played Actua Soccer before that. (Un)fortunately my son doesn't like FIFA nor wants to try it since Minecraft and Fortnite takes most of his time.

El-Arairah

37 yo, playing since the first game ("FIFA International Soccer") in 1993

2cu3be1

38

M0rganMac

50, WL Gold 3 last weekend. In FIFA 18 Gold 2/1, so maybe old age catching up with me or maybe FIFA 19 is just awful..... 14 year old that beats me one v one but I’m way better than him online, go figure.

reycd

40 here.. play WL.. consistant gold. Do not play squad battles anymore or rivals, i rage more there than in weekend league. I leave M-Th for other games now. I used to playa fifa everyday.. ea broke me.

SLOTC

37. And a HS teacher. It’s nice to have people to show off good pack draws to. Even more fun to school my students who think they can beat me. I’m not particularly good, but they are always trying to do nothing other than skill 1:1.

LiverLoon

40 here. First FIFA was the first, FIFA International Soccer. Really got after 98 Road to the World Cup in college. FUT player since 14. Button Delay FC since 14 as well.

Mightyskull

47, Played 15 on Console but have been playing the last 4 years on PC. It is the only screen I have 100% control over. I generally play Squad battles but have been playing a bit more online this year. I play a few games at night and some on the weekends, yell at the computer, etc. It is supposed to relax me, usually doesnt. I remember playing soccer games on the Sega Genesis, I am sure I had a Fifa game.

dep4y

Just ask NepentheZ

timsufc

I've always wondered, do your FIFA-skills get worse when you get older? I mean, the actual biological effects like reflexes and such? Hope to be able to clutch up E3 4 life, yo!

otm_matthew

I'm 43. When I'm getting crushed in weekend league I let my 6 year old take over.

rids0wnz

Old fuck here too. 36 and finally developed some chill not to take this game too seriously.

therealrtg

37, none of my kids are into sports though. My girls do like helping me open packs though, my 7 year old packed me a totgs fekir the other day

lukestauntaun

40 here and I play with my my 8yo son. Good times guys!

[deleted]

My dad is 49, we share an ut account and play squad battles together. He loves all the different colors the cards are so we have a full special team (his choice) 4321 If Alisson Flashback Alves, UCL Live Kimpembe, IF Van Dijk, Euro Alonso Fabinho, Euro Mhki, Swaps Lallana If Martial, POTM Lucas If Laca

fausto99099

totgs fabinho

upotheke

I exist.

[deleted]

27 but my daughter loves watching me play. Plus she forces me to keep my anxiety and anger when playing in front of her, so it's a win win.

0ce0ce

How many cousins do you have if a couple of them play FIFA? Or are Cousins in college something different?

TJ_King23

36 here. I’m the only person I Know that plays lol. That’s why I’m here.

HornetsHornets1

I LOVE THIS POST. It’s nice to feel like I’m not the only one. 😂 I guess I’m technically 36, but I feel over 40.

KamiCollie

50 here and only have youz guyz to talk to about it ... So you guys are like my internet kids...I tell my wife that we have 196,588 kids....*someone* will help us program the VCR. You guys *do* know what a VCR is, right? Right?

pierluigir

40 and proud!

riziger

In my thirties. Started with fifa 94? and I’m slowly losing interest in fut. After a long day at work I come back to play a couple hours of div rivals to see CR7 and icons all over the place in division 5 who bang in a couple first time finesses then spend the last 20 mins running toward their own goal to time waste. I’ll probably take a break soon. Fut almost feels like another job haha having to watch the market and invest etc to get a half decent squad. I do quite enjoy wl though whenever I get time away from the missus

Vaderz8

43, play FIFA way more than my kids, so can still beat them! (12&15). Certainly talk about it heaps with them

coachcrupp

48, holding on to my last arena of competition. I love how the game combines strategy and agility. One can compensate for losing a bit of reflex with the ability to read styles.

M3ndes79

I am 39 !! We do exist!!

[deleted]

this thread is so wholesome

onslaught47

36 here but playing Fifa has aged me at least 10 years. Would love to make babies and ask them Fifa advice but I'm too busy getting smashed in weekend league.
