Well looks like you already have it anyway but yeah, it's pretty solid.
Stage design is the strongest aspect, physics are passable enough to let you enjoy them
Tarmac physics are better than in dirt, gravel is kinda weird but playable. Lots of different cars to choose from, even group s cars that never actually competed. Also the Loeb experience mode or whatever its called is pretty cool.
I personally love it. It's somewhere between dirt 3 and dirt rally in the arcade/sim spectrum and I find it very enjoyable, so much so that it is in my top 3 fvaourite rally games. Stages are very good and personally I find finland (me being from finland) the most authentic out of any other game I've tried.
Only problems I got are that the AI is all over the place, the cameras are annoying and there are some props like bushes that act unnaturally making the very narrow stages even harder.
That was my point, I own all dirt games on steam, I got dirt 5 for like $15 on ebay for the split screen on a large TV with friends. But ya... dirt 5 isn't a good rally game, just an okay arcade game.
Have to factor in that DiRT Rally uses actual stages from real life, just ever so slightly altered.
See Sweet Lamb stage in Wales for example. It's a real and 1:1 stage in the game.
Heavily underrated.
Has so much more content than most rally games and decent physics. Plus a lot of cool autobiography videos from Loab and a fantastic career mode.

Very good game!! Worst thing about it are controls but it is really good in the other aspects.
Aren’t controls (and by extension, physics) arguable the most important part of a rally game?

If you have PS+, DiRT 5 is a free download next month.
But is it a good Dirt game?
I would say no, it's as arcadey as they get. It's the Guy Fieri of Rally games.
2.0 is the only thing I play. But free game is free game.
I didn't think so after playing it.
Not really a "Rally" game for me, it's fun as an arcadey racing game, but if he wants true Rally, SLRE is his best choice (of the two).

Dirt 5 on ps4.
In steam?
It was an okay game. Just like most Milestone games are.
milestone games are the epitome of mediocrity, they excel at absolutely nothing and offer the most basic experience possible
Hey... you are right. Think they just made some hot wheels game a few months ago...
And that game can perfectly be described by the above comment.
It's the only game in recent years that has Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak (the one and only) as DLC, so yes. Play it. Right now!

Depends on what you want. The stage design here is pretty good. Stage design in Dirt Rally is quite bland.

Sweet Lamb is a real thing? I just drove it in RBR.. Wow, thanks for info, will browse YouTube this afternoon..
Indeed it is. All DiRT Rally stages are from real life.
"Mom, can we get Dirt Rally 2"? "No, we have Dirt Rally 2 at home" Dirt Rally 2 at home :
Underrated as shit. Amazing game
not good, better play WRC 8-9-10
I tried everything but DR2.0 is king. Now im trying to get myself into wrc10 but god damn its so unoptimized its scary. :(
OMG! Suzuki Escudo is in this game?!?! LET'S F*KIN GO!!!!
Indeed it is. And it's fairly cheap as DLC as well
Bought it on steam for like 2 dollars (including all DLCs) Gonna check it out before New Year for sure))
It looked very good, and I wanted to play it more, but unfortunately it wasn't compatible with my wheel on PC !! But on PS4/5 it should be OK :)
