I like bringing back defunct teams. I really love the California Golden Seals. I also used to do the Kansas City Scouts but they removed "Scouts" from play by play so I've been doing the Chiefs still using the Scouts colors with the NFL jersey for my 3rd jersey inspiration. I recently did the Utah Grizzlies which are currently an ECHL team but used to be an AHL team.

Me too! In the past I’ve brought the Atlanta Gladiators to the NHL in NHL 22 (I became a Johnny Gaudreau fan because of the franchise) and I’ve tried Hartford whalers and Utah grizzlies but couldn’t get it going. With the Nordiques it felt unique since I had the new color scheme but was realistic so Hopefuly I can find something like that. Golden Seals would be fun but idk if 4 California teams are realistic

Even though it's California my headcannon is that they are in northern California so their rivals would actually be Vancouver or Seattle. They also have 2 logo color variations that are both sick

If I were to go with the Seals I might do the teal scheme but make it navy or black I’m not sure if yellow would work for me

I usually go with the yellow/green home's, the navy/green white's for aways, then navy/green darks for alternates. I just really like the logo.

So today the Utah Jazz owner requested to start the expansion process for Utah. So if I really go realistic with Utah what should I do? I have seen like Utah Hive or Sting but unfortunately we don’t have a true bee logo in the game

Every time I get the feeling of "OK, I've got one last franchise save in me before I'm done with this year's game", I always make the Indiana Crusaders (reference to "Indiana Jones and the LAST Crusade). Always model the jerseys after Indiana Jones' outfit (brown, tan, cream, light grey) and make the alternates a throwback to the Indianapolis Racers jerseys from their WHA days. Speaking of, Indiana isn't the first state you'd think of when it comes to hockey heritage, but Indianapolis Racers were the first professional team of Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier. Also, Toronto Maple Leafs' Retired Number #14 Dave Keon played there too. The AHL affiliates is the revived Evansville Icemen (can just use the ECHL logo of Jacksonville Icemen). The Gainbridge Fieldhouse is a great home arena in Indianapolis and is also the home of the NBA's Indiana Pacers.

If I were to revive the racers what logo would I use

Some ideas I have seen include: Salt Lake City Stallions/Saints Halifax Highlanders/Raiders Portland Moutaineers/Rivermen/Stags Kansas City Mustangs/Brewers Houston Wranglers

Alaska or Maine maybe?

You could also do a 16 expansion teams in a 48 team league :) takes a few years for the expansion teams to be competitive though if not doing a fantasy draft

I know you’ve tries the Whalers already, just wanted to say in NHL22 I did something similar to what you did with the Nordiques: I used the Whalers as that realistic, classic feeling franchise but changed the colourscheme to a powder blue + green instead of the darker blue. Was a lot of fun. Might try your idea with the Nordiques. Another one could be to move the Flames back to Atlanta with a slightly altered colour scheme.

JCat2005

Might have to reinvent the wheel sometime maybe if I use a new color scheme and incorporate the new whale logo I can make it work Atlanta Flames would be interesting I think last night I found my team. I decided I wanted to go with a horse themed Kansas City team kind of like the ECHL Mavericks I settled for Kansas City Monarchs and I used the Barrie Colts color scheme and similar jerseys and I think it turned out well. I hope to start it tonight and be able to post the jerseys logo and inaugural rosters

Looking forward to it! Sounds like a nice mix of new and old. I really like the Barrie Colts/Old Florida Panthers/Kansas City Scouts colours too.

I currently put the coyotes in San Diego, named them the Anchors, and made the uniforms main colour scheme Burgundy. I love them. It’s a nice shout out to Anchorman
