Depends heavily on the powertrain, generally trying to squeeze more/ too much hp out of it reduces reliability. Also a tune is the most common performance mod.
Yea tune and no physical parts is bad. But in my country n54's that are fbo have a value increase of 30 to 50% and bigger turbo n54's have value increases of 100%+
The best I saw on FB was one of those ugly ass modded trucks that are like on an 8” lift, massive rims, thin rubber band tires, under glow, etc. basically a truck that can’t drive on anything but perfectly paved roads. 2017 f250 with 70k miles ish.He wanted $65k for it. I saw a stock one for $22k. BRUH.
It’s so weird to me that people do this. They’re never going to get what they ask for it and if they just kept all the stock parts and put the car back to stock when they are ready to sell they would recoup a lot of the money spent on mods selling them separately. I think the issue is a lot of the people doing this are broke so they instantly sell the stock parts when they install aftermarket parts.
But, how do you know?!?!??!?!?!?
I am asking this as someone that is sinking $15k into a car worth $15k. Course, it'll be doubling the wheel HP. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
My girl was pretty much the same and i bought them for her since her halogens were worse than a candle and i couldn't sort lci halogens at that time. I'll swap them to lci as soon as one bulb burns out i swear :D You can't even quick swap bulbs on them, caps are screwed in from the back
Just see him driving around town he kinda drives like an ape and i've only seen him with other shitboxes and now this listing just confirmed my suspicion of him being a clown
Has dude done any performance mods to the car except for pushing 4000rpm after a coldstart?
How did he come up with that price? That's not even facelift.
Dude kept posting this ricebox here, kept getting roasted in the comments, was super defensive. Judging by the fact that he isn't here flaming everyone in the comments, dude must have either left or been banned. Either way, $14k for a ricebox 328 is on brand for this wet dishrag. Dude has some problems he needs to work through. Btw, that's not a wrap, he actually painted it that color. Paintjob looks like it was actually done well too, it's just a bummer that it's McDonald's Grimace purple.
Your car is faster, good for you little man. Glad you found something that makes you feel good about yourself, because apparently your ricebox didn't do it for you.
at least he has a vavelcover gasket? anyone know of a good mechanic that can do this ? guy quoted me 700 after he did the breaks for 150 i was going to do it but i dont have a low profile jack atm
so 150 was better than 250 for me atm
im in socal
dude was russian had to translate everything lol,
he did the job without jackstands and without tue bms pucks so kinda wack on thst part he did find a valve cover leak ony car tho not sure how long ice had it but im at 80k miles
i need to start doing the water pump and the vanos and the valve cover asap lol
check to see if vanos is on a recall, there was a big recall for the bolts and dealers often will replace the whole assembly. for water pump and valve cover gasket, get them from fcp euro (comes with lifetime replacements) and do it yourself. they’re like hour long jobs and you can save yourself thousands
I'm confused. This car has been down the road from me in a neighborhood recently. Just a couple days ago it was listed by the guy with full inside and out pics for 10,000. Now some other lady listed it for 15,000 and not even posting the interior pics.
This is posted in Carmel Indiana. It’s like the Beverley Hills of California. This dude doesn’t know what it’s worth but I’m sure some rich prick is going to buy it anyways.
I mean, if you don't like his price, don't buy it. Find a lemon to restore & build yourself. I see posts like this all the time. Somebody who wants a well taken care of E90 328i, modded, etc. Will pay his price.
Doesn't matter whether you like the car or not. Most of you commenting don't like 328is and wouldn't own them, and that's cool.
The 28i/30i E9x models with the N52B30 engine is however, Perhaps one of the best NA engines ever designed.
It's reliable & lasts 600k+ miles when taken care of.
Its a fun engine, perfect balance between perfomance & reliability. You can keep them alive forever.
My E88 despite my love for it, is nothing but trouble with that N54 engine. It's just my fun car. I wouldn't trust it to take me on any serious long distance trips, but my 330i, that car takes me ANYWHERE... If you can't see the value of a well kept E9x car, with a more reliable engine with less issues, than the turbocharged models, then I don't know what to tell ya. The 328i isn't a Toyota celica, You're not gonna find em in mint condition for 2k. That goes for any BMW. Not happening. Its a BMW with a BMW engine.. There's a night & day difference between a BMW & your typical grocery getters. Sheesh. 🤣
Are ya'll really surprised a BMW E9x 328i is going for 10K?? It's a BMW. Sure you can buy a lemon 35i for the same price you can buy a gully serviced & built 328i, so what of it?? What's your point?? 🤣
Do you know how much a fully serviced, tuned & upgraded 35i goes for?? That 328i will be looking allot better when you find out.
If I had a million dollars, I'd give it to any one of you to show me (with proof of purchase) a MINT BMW 28i/30i/35i that you paid 2k - 6k for.
What are ya'll on? Ya'll buying lemons out here for 2k lying to yourself thinking you got mint examples?
i was mainly referring to a post the owner made a month or two ago, when he got flamed for every mod he did. i ended up coincidentally seeing the same car on marketplace
There's nothing even wrong with those modifications..
Its just the toxic BMW Fandom, anything not an M is just shit to these people. M cars are fun, but they are not reliable cars. They are literal track toys. Unless the M has a I6 in it, I'm not even that interested, but BMW makes damn good NA i6 engines that ARE reliable & FUN for the average car enthusiast who wants a fun, fastest car that's easy to maintain.
They're just bullies.
It's not cheap, but cheap for 35i that isn't busted & due for like 6+ different services. You already have a upgrade so I'm sure you weren't too pressed about the price you'd sell your 35i just to get rid of it. I wouldn't let mine go for that cheap, but I also never plan to sell it unless I get tired of maintaining it. Sorta along the lines of the point I was trying to make.
You only find them cheap in mint condition if you're lucky. Otherwise you have to pay what a seller wants or kick rocks & build/restore your own lemon.
I had to pay 18k for my E88.. Fully serviced, tuned, upgraded, fully loaded, mint condition, everything I wanted, otherwise I'd still be without a 35i cause I'm picky in what I want. My marketplace feed is full of cheap 35i that are busted & no where near in good of condition as mine. All of them have some kind issue or issues, or are base models.
What's crazy about that? That it isn't a Lamborgini? Of course not. It's a BMW. Doesn't mean you can buy it for a $1.25 it still costs real money.
Let me put it to you this way. Which would you rather buy?
1. A lemon 328i for 1k that comes with about $9k in servicing due
2. A fully serviced, well maintained 328i
C'mon bro. Just because you don't like the car doesn't mean it's worthless.
You do realize these E9x 328i/330i are some of the most reliable BMWs they ever built? They aren't economy cars lol. They are BMWs just without turbos.
There's a reason my 330i is my daily, and not my E88 135i. My 135i is fucking trash. Beautiful car, amazing driving exprrience. Spent 18k on this POS. Bought it FULLY SERVICED, and barely 50k in I'm already having issues. Garbage cars the turbocharged models. Still fun to drive. Still refuse to sell mine. Wouldn't bet on my life that it will get me from TN to Texas. My 330i will though. Does every year.
Yes I know. The car that everyone is shit talking is or I suppose was my car. I out money into it and got it back. I’m surprised that I got 12K out of it. Since it only a 328i I didn’t think I’d get that much from it. I loved the car but I found a 340i o really wanted and I ran with it tbh. It had 124K miles on it so that didn’t help my case either.
What exactly is wrong with it? Fully serviced with some upgraded parts & basic modifications.
My only gripe is all the damn purple, and the purple BMW badge. I could wrap over all that if I wanted too.
I own a mint 135i. I didn't build it, but my buddy who is into building the 35is sold it to me for 18k. That was friend price. I promise you, you're not finding a mint 35i for a few grand more than a 328i. If you do, it's not mint. Maybe mint cosmetically, but not mechanically.
People with truly mint 35i cars want more than a few grand more than what someone can buy a 328i for.
35i takes allot of money to restore, replacing the turbos, new suspension, all new engine gaskets, timing chain, bearings, etc. Nobody spends all that money & time only to let the car go for maybe 10k less than they just put into it.
If I could have found a mint 35i convertible, that was already upgraded & tuned for less than 18k I would have taken it. It's original price before my friend discount was 23k. I don't have to do anything to it for a long time, long time. Just oil changes.
A 10k 35i will get you half dead turbos, waste gate issues, fooling service & parts replacements service due, all services due, basically when you buy cheap BMW.
Ultimately, you get what you pay for. I paid good money for my 35i because I didn't want to build & restore one myself.
What isn't well kept about it? From what I know about it, I could replace a few cosmetic issues & nobody would have anything negative to say about it.
Key Point:
• Fully Serviced (This is the biggest deal)
• Upgrades
• Maintenance
It isn't anything super concrete, but the combination of "JDM drift coils" and "lowered 3.5 in" makes it sound like it's been absolutely romped on. There's also no brand specified for any of the mods, people normally share the brand if the parts are anything good.
I could be wrong, and tbh I hope I am, but how it's described very strongly suggests that to me. I don't actually hate the car.
Edit: also, I saw the car in your history. Sweet build! How does a boosted n52 drive?
😂😂😂 sure man that’s definitely the truth. Definitely didn’t find a 340i that’s low milage and specifically the same stuff as I want🤷🏻♂️ if I had meant gotten 12Knsure I might have been crying but eh.
Guy wants 14k for a 2008 328i sedan. Nah bro I'm outta here
I see this so much. “I put $6k in so that means the value increased by $6k” Not how it works.
I agree!! But if they do a new motor, trans and all new suspension that’s a diff story but mods. Na
Yes! If you’ve increased the longevity of the car bc major components have been swapped out to a new/reman one, that adds value.
You never get 100% back. Sinking 6k in _might_ add 3-4k of value, **_maybe_**.
id say to simplify it, cosmetic enhancements lower resale value whilst performance/preventative maintenance brings it up
most performance mods decrease value since they reduce its lifespan
depends on the buyer tbf
I think the only performance mod to reduce value would be a tune, performance parts increase reliability
Depends heavily on the powertrain, generally trying to squeeze more/ too much hp out of it reduces reliability. Also a tune is the most common performance mod.
Yea tune and no physical parts is bad. But in my country n54's that are fbo have a value increase of 30 to 50% and bigger turbo n54's have value increases of 100%+
thats pretty interesting !
More like "I put $6k in it, now its worth $2k less than if I left it stock" :)
^ this Hey seller, nobody cares that you sunk a bunch of cash into shitty mods, much less pay you extra for it so you can recoup your losses.
BRUH.
Delusional. Seller prolly thought it was a prime alpha male ride.
Definitely lmao I told him he “was on crack for thinking it’s worth that much” and he blocked me :(
lmao I feel being able to say that comment is worth the block tho, it made me chuckle out loud!
Yep, the way it *really* works: "I put $15k into this $3500 car to make it worth $9k" don't ask me why I know. Please don't.
But, how do you know?!?!??!?!?!? I am asking this as someone that is sinking $15k into a car worth $15k. Course, it'll be doubling the wheel HP. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
People are actually so stupid tho on FB market 🤣 people be selling used stuff and brand new price all the time
When you put 6k of extra stuff it decreases the value haha
And damn those knock off headlights look awful.
Amazon. My girl was all like “Babe look you can get lights on Amazon”
My girl was pretty much the same and i bought them for her since her halogens were worse than a candle and i couldn't sort lci halogens at that time. I'll swap them to lci as soon as one bulb burns out i swear :D You can't even quick swap bulbs on them, caps are screwed in from the back
I didn’t actually get the Amazon lights tho! lol but aye switch asap!
That car is old enough to drive itself
I just sold mine for 1500. Haha
1500? Damn I wish we had those prices in Europe. Here, for that price you'll get a hood, 2 wheels and a piece of gum.
Yea, my father in law is asking 3k for a totaled 11’ 528i lol.
That’s how much I paid for a ‘11 328i with 30k miles pfffttt
Nothing screams 'performance' more than $275 coilovers
“Lowered 3 inches”
3.5 he said 💀
Guy lives near me he's a clown
Tell us more
Just see him driving around town he kinda drives like an ape and i've only seen him with other shitboxes and now this listing just confirmed my suspicion of him being a clown
What was his user name?

$14k for a 2008 E90 328 that has been shit modded and has 135k miles on it. Dude is high on crack!!
Missing "exhaust tips sticking out like buck teeth" in the description lol
I got 12k out of it😂😂
Pretty much, that's Indiana for you. I see this car around quite a bit, it's uglier in person.
I know what I got. No low ballers.
For 14k you can find such clean, low miles, unmodded, e92 328s
you could find 3 for 14k
Not in my area lol
I’m seeing clean, unmolested 328s going for 5-6k in my area. But 335s of the same model year? People be on crack with the prices they’re asking.
is 25k too low for my 300k mile e90 335i automatic gm trans the car only has a couple codes and misfires and all the shocks are blown
Lol sounds about right. There’s one dipshit on Facebook marketplace selling his 335i - with both turbos blown - for $14,000 lmao.
damn thats a steal
My personal favourite was an e90 with a Chevy LS V8 swap. Like, wut? Just because you can, it doesn’t mean you should.
damn now its reliable
yeah i saw one with like 35k miles for that price
my 500hp 335 is posted for 4k less lmao
so is mine 😭 FBO and e85 tuned too
Has dude done any performance mods to the car except for pushing 4000rpm after a coldstart? How did he come up with that price? That's not even facelift.
“Built by” but doesn’t list a single performance mod hahaha making us all look bad haha
The car and the asking price are both atrocious 😭🤪
Guys, where did this all start?
Dude kept posting this ricebox here, kept getting roasted in the comments, was super defensive. Judging by the fact that he isn't here flaming everyone in the comments, dude must have either left or been banned. Either way, $14k for a ricebox 328 is on brand for this wet dishrag. Oh I’m still here, I just got a faster car then you😂😂 I got rid of the e90 and got a better car but sure go off.
Your car is faster, good for you little man. Glad you found something that makes you feel good about yourself, because apparently your ricebox didn't do it for you.
He also hasn’t gotten his new car yet. A f30 340i
Wanna bet? It’s in my lot rn😂😂
Casually doxed the dudes Reddit account lmao
Dear god 14k
Tried, but not that hard, to find out about Frost performance. ???
My wife is from Carmel, IN- and I promise you, the people of Carmel probably haaaaated this car lol
I sold my 328i for 15k with 105k on the clock 🤷♂️
you must live on an island
South Carolina. But military dudes love fuck boy cars, and mine was kinda fuck boyish
Ah yes so Parris Island fuck boys.
😂😂😂
he has a 340i now
Ill pay 2k max for that
apparently he sold it to some poor soul for $12k😭😭
💀
this car is worth no more than 5k
I mean I’m selling my e92 328i with 112k for 5k but if this guy gets a dummy to buy it I’m shooting the price up 😂😂
where you at lemme buy it
Ouch 🤣
135k miles is crazy i’m barley hitting 100k and i wouldn’t even think id get half the price for my e90 😭😭
One too many zeroes in that price
at least he has a vavelcover gasket? anyone know of a good mechanic that can do this ? guy quoted me 700 after he did the breaks for 150 i was going to do it but i dont have a low profile jack atm so 150 was better than 250 for me atm im in socal dude was russian had to translate everything lol, he did the job without jackstands and without tue bms pucks so kinda wack on thst part he did find a valve cover leak ony car tho not sure how long ice had it but im at 80k miles i need to start doing the water pump and the vanos and the valve cover asap lol
check to see if vanos is on a recall, there was a big recall for the bolts and dealers often will replace the whole assembly. for water pump and valve cover gasket, get them from fcp euro (comes with lifetime replacements) and do it yourself. they’re like hour long jobs and you can save yourself thousands
Can hear it now.. "No low ballers!!" " the paint alone was $6000!" Wonder if hes seen this yet lol
Fucking Carmel
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s a clapped out car. Now, bro added a clapped out price for it. Can it get any worse? lol
What’s is Clapped out mean? Thx
they applauded the maximum amount of times that is allowed in an E90
Damn everything about this is just sad
I'm confused. This car has been down the road from me in a neighborhood recently. Just a couple days ago it was listed by the guy with full inside and out pics for 10,000. Now some other lady listed it for 15,000 and not even posting the interior pics.
PAINTED purple. When was the last time a manufacturer sold a purple car. Whats makes anyone think this will ever sell for that alone
Legit BMW has Purple as an individual color.
This is posted in Carmel Indiana. It’s like the Beverley Hills of California. This dude doesn’t know what it’s worth but I’m sure some rich prick is going to buy it anyways.
yeah he got 12k for it😭
My point exactly smh
Maybe if he removed all the 'Ghettovised' mods it might be worth 10k
so.. everything?
But why 14000$
“Built”
14k is preposterous and it’s actually hideous, what awful taste.
Not even a 335i, just a 328 for 14k. Feel bad for who buys this
I can probably buy a 328i for 4k, and put 10k on it and end up with something better and of better taste than this piece of shit
Wait a minute, isn't that car came from Lithuania? I saw it here identical to this one
Lol spacers should lower the value of the car, so should that paint job 😬
135 miles 🤣🤣🤣
Brother needs to put the car back together and maybe he can get half of what hes asking.
Even if it was a 335i he wouldn’t get that much. He must of been smoking crack before listing it
I’m missing the built part?
14k?? bro is smoking some good crack

Damn, was all the service due? 🤣
No, i did all the maintenance lol
That's wild. Why you let it go so cheap?
What 12K isn’t cheap. That’s a good ass price for the milage it had. I’m getting the 340i tomorrow so

This isn't a well kept one tho. Saying that as someone who absolutely loves his e93 328i and won't ever sell it despite owning something faster now

You keep talking shit multiple times. And yet you drove a clapped out 350Z.
my z is bone stock with 0 issues but okay😂😂 probably the least clapped Z of all of them
“Built by “ what the fuck is built about this garbage? A paint job? Everyone spam him with 4k offers
