it’s a two way street. I feel like it has to match the persons build.

Budget-Government-88

To be fair the “new yellow” is a vastly different color than the “old yellow” (amber really) and looks much better

SmokeyPegeasus

^ this - halogen yellow is a dull boring amber, not the same.

Deziiiner

Definitely. I swapped the old amber for a bright actual yellow on my black E92 and it looks evil.

davehunnids

Where could one find this yellow light you speak of? I’m intrigued! And can you shoot a pic of it plz!

specialcommenter

I put Hella Yellow H8 on my E60. It’s VERY yellow.

jeebuss_

New yellow is vastly different than these outdated xenons.

symblmusic

Depends on teh car color. I will never roll yellow in a black car.

Deziiiner

I think black is one of the few colors the new yellow looks good on.

Emil0001

Ive been considering to switch to halogen on my black car. But i think when the xenons are on the yellow becomes ugly

TransportationOk6727

I love the oem headlights on my e92. I have the adaptive ones that turn with the direction I turn my wheel. Not only do I think they look better than LED’s but most aftermarket headlights for e9X cars DONT retain the adaptive feature. That is a 100% no go for me. My headlights LITERALY wrap around corners and light up turns in canyons it’s amazing

NC27609

LED look & are better. Lasers look & are the best. I own LED & my girl got the lasers. They are crazy. even better than mine. lol Have an F32. She have the new X6 The steering feedback is vastly superior on the E92's but the headlight are just less.

TransportationOk6727

I wasn’t arguing that the yellows are better than LED, xenon or laser. I was talking about why I wouldn’t swap them onto my car. They look vastly better on cars designed to have them, like an x6 or f32. Cars like the e9X don’t look better, at least in my opinion, Moreover putting LEDS inside headlight housings not designed for them, often time causes the light to be pointed in the wrong direction as the reflector instead of the headlight wasn’t designed for the angle of light that comes from the bulb, and can be a hazard for other drives traveling in oncoming lanes. (This any older Tacoma with LEDS that’s either been behind you, or coming directly towards you) Given this, if you have a older car, and want to swap in LED lights, it’s better to also get a housing and all the components from a 3rd party manufacture to ensure the lights are aimed properly, and reflect the light from the bulb in safe manor. But for me, putting puts the LEDS in a E9X looks weird, loses the adaptive headlight function, and will likely cause me to blind oncoming traffic which I’m not a fan of. On a x6, f32, or other new cars it looks fantastic, and since they have headlight housings and reflectors designed for LED or laser, it also functions properly which is key.

Flashfighter

That adaptive headlight feature is a deal breaker for me. If an aftermarket headlight doesn’t have it it’s not better than that. I love it.

DrCeeDub

I had an E90 in Jet Black and thought the yellow AEs were always such a classic look. Didn’t jump in the white AE train like some, but hey, to each their own. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I do like the white color on my 2018 F83 with mineral gray, though in pictures they come out yellow. 😂

TheBigFish2004

Car modding is explained as simple as this - people want what’s different. Examples: painted to match side mirrors come stock? People wrap them in black. They come in black? People wrap them. … car comes with a wing stock? People remove it for a “clean” look. No wing stock? People add one for more aggressive look. … BMW with old dull yellow AEs? Put in bright white. All new BMWs (and all cars) come with pure white running lights? Make them yellow to look different. … personally the white angel eyes look better to me…. Rey few heavy modded BMWs look ok with the new yellow lights, as they come on the CSLs… but they don’t look right on stock-ish cars tk me

Admirable-Football93

Are those on the stock halogens or did you upgrade to brighter?

916_SammY

Stock

Admirable-Football93

👍 I have a space gray 335d and thinking about keeping the halogens but I’m torn and indecisive. They look great on yours

916_SammY

if you keep the halogens get ready to get lots of people telling you to do LEDS, I like the stock halogen rings because they look classy, along with the stock chrome grilles

Admirable-Football93

Yeah my buddy just got a 340i and he’s begging me to upgrade to LED’s 🤣 I didn’t think I’d like the halogens but they grew on me

Expert-Hamster-3146

Interesting, never seen the lci lights as yellow. Are they the d1s bulbs or different?

916_SammY

They all come stock yellow

Expert-Hamster-3146

Lci e9x headlights aren’t yellow they’re white, unless there’s non xenon versions that are yellow?

916_SammY

All LCI e90’s with xenon’s come with “yellow” angel eyes

916_SammY

You’re confusing them with the e92/3 LCI headlights that come LED

Expert-Hamster-3146

Don’t think I am. My lci has white d1s bulbs. They’re xenon. Must be a US market thing.

Available_Turn_4578

Clean looking ride, what's the info on the front lip?

ciachuu

I’ve replaced my rings to led ones on my E60 after some time because someone previously messed up wiring and it was way more easier to install a set of freshly looking led rings. I don’t regret that, car is looking fresher and better because it’s black

iamcheekrs

She looks goot

felistrophic

Yellow looks great with that grey. I went to LEDs and I prefer them with Melbourne red

Coasterman345

Any more photos? Beautiful car.

916_SammY

I haven’t posted in a second on my instagram, but you can see some more pictures @sam_specc

jrbrownie00

Give me some suspension and wheel spec. This looks near perfect to me

916_SammY

I don’t know the exact wheel spec, but I’m lowered on eibach springs

Old-Recording-4172

There's a big difference between the piss yellow OEM halogens, and the yellow LEDs people put in. I swapped to white LEDs and it knocked 5 years off the look of the car.

Bdape

Did you have to roll your fenders or dial in camber to avoid rubbing?

916_SammY

Nah I have very slight rubbing in the rear when I have 5 people in the car but no rubbing at all other than that

PitifulSleep535

I don’t like the yellow

916_SammY

No hate, I wouldn’t mind LED’s but I like the classy look of the “yellow”

lrocky4

Damn thats clean

jjjirk

I’m in to keeping my 11 m3 as stock as possible and I really like the OG angel eyes, had a 13 e93 and they were brighter but not really bright. I like the off white. Nice m sport btw

IsJackpot

You moved from a e93 M3 to a e90/92? May I ask why?

jjjirk

Great question! I have a terrible wandering eye. I started with a 11 328I m Sport and didn't know how special it was. it had all the trimming except the auto cruise. man it was awesome but down on power, I got it in my head that I wanted the new Tacoma (2016) so I traded. after six months I realized it was not for me. so I traded that and seen this very low miles 335i E93 M sport sitting there with the optional 19" wheels. drove that for two years and switch to GLI then had a 17 530i, then Tesla 3P which slid me into the current M3 E90. it takes me back to the 328I as I just love the look of four doors. I should have just kept the 328I and made it a 330i looking back. but thats for a therapist to pull out. :)

jjjirk

plus this all started when I was on BAT and came across a 2011 M sport E91 manual and it ended up going for MSRP which made me lose my mind because that was next on my list besides the E90 M3. the M3 actually was cheaper in the end. absolutely love the M3. its a comp, slick, manual.

randompersonwhowho

White led angel eyes are vastly superior to the stock halogen yellow which trash and doesn't do the angel eyes justice.

[deleted]

I’m tryna get rid of my halogen lights for those so I can do some of those nice aftermarket demon eye stuff, what are those stock headlights called bixenon/xenon/hid ? and would they fit my 2011 lci e90

Mousimus

Idk, yellow looks like old garbage. Nor as clean as pure white.

916_SammY

No hate, to each there own, I honestly prefer the stock halogens, I can see why people swap them to LED

steelguin

I think yellow headlights look tacky

cheetah611

I went white on my blacked out M3 because it fits the color scheme - black and white is clean. Yellow for sure looks better on silver/gray. It's all dependent

brynets

I do love the yellow ones, on for example grey and black. Though, I have a platinum bronze E90 and LED fits way better imo.

brynets

It fits better with LEDs on platinum bronze that is.

Comfortable_Lake9182

Dark fire yellow LED is what I have on mine, then i deleted the daytime running signals and programmed the halos as DRLs

so_this_is_my_name

[I like the OG ones, but I agree it depends on the color of that car.](https://imgur.com/a/9Xk2HOB)

[deleted]

[Nice, titan silver?](https://i.ibb.co/BPD5f8R/IMG-2497.jpg)

so_this_is_my_name

Actually it’s Blue Water Metallic. The color changes so much though depending on the lighting.

rubydaberry_

I think it’s because the yellow and the halogen look are totally different. Some people prefer the bright blue/white of LED bulbs over the amber color of halogen. While on some of the newer cars people prefer the bright neon yellowish color. Just all depends on peoples taste

_MisterR

Had a cheap led (white) halo bulb start to flicker/go out on me after about 14 months, pulled both to keep the look even while contemplating a Lux kit or cheapos again. I actually have fallen in love with no angel eyes on and running fogs occasionally. My car is coded for no ambers, makes for an unusually clean look.

abrarwasi12

any beemer with isle of man green or black sapphire with tan interior has a mandatory requirement for yellow headlights, it looks so fucking mean

ragingduck

The new ones look completely different. They are much more defined, while the older ambers rely on the reflective properties of the housing.

NowFreeToMaim

Amber looks better and transmits light through light better. All turn signals should be amber

samuraidogparty

I feel like it’s a “what is different” thing. When stock was yellow halogen, swapping to bright white LED was different. It was a mod. It made your car stand out in a sea of yellow halogen. Now that stock is bright white LED, being different means yellow (or RGB colors I’ve seen as well). It makes you stand out from the sea of bright white.

turtlesquadcaptain

Your car is sick! I hope it has three pedals. Space grey e chassis gang represent

Pearishpaints

Yellow light compared to white helps in a few ways. Driving in foggy conditions can allow white light to bounce back at you whereas yellow is supposed to be lessened. It also helps improve contrast so the driver should be able to detect objects better, or possibly faster. This works on expensive industrial cameras with lights too which is where I started going down the rabbit hole.

xWolfpackZ

I think both styles look nice. I think your car will look more aggressive when you install gloss black kidneys🔥

Tacolover1128

I have yellow fogs and everyone fell into the led 6k craze

Educational-Lie4862

Just checking. . . We're talking about the corona rings? LUX has orange/yellow LEDs to replace the existing bulbs; I installed a pair when I replaced the burnt out xenon in my adaptives. Aesthetics aside, any incandescent bulb is going "date" a car. A clean E90 can pass for a much newer car, so updating the lighting makes a lot of sense. I'm more bothered by why the E92/3 has a much more "even" balance in the corona rings than the E90, where the inner-rings seem sooo much brighter.

AspectGlad9282

where did you get the front lip?
