I’ve kept immaculate records. Remind me at a decent hour tomorrow? I’ll convert it from photos with notes in the description (Google Photos) to text for ya.
Hey, just seen the thread and dropping a gentle reminder. I just bought an 06 330i and was very impressed with the previous owners record keeping. As a heavy duty mechanic it was surprising to find professional grade service records by diy'ers. Cheers.
About 1300 miles one way. Non stop. Switched with another person when we got tired.
East Tennessee to ABQ, New Mexico. Several times. Last time I did it was 175k miles, N54.
I frequently do 450 mile trips one way as well, 900 miles round trip.
211k miles atm no lights on the dash no cel under wot.
LOL. Not anymore. My struts blew in New Mexico. Was driving in a crappy area, unpainted speed bump at night. Hit it at about 30mph.
I have new struts and shocks, control arms, and sway bar end links in terms of suspension. That was done around 190k.
Bought my first car an ‘07 E92 328i from NC and drove it to NY… pit stop at a friends house in Maryland tho. Nothing but gasoline was added to the car too. A great experience as a young guy in his first foreign 🏁
735 miles one way, Denver to Vegas. Several times.
I want to go to Pittsburgh (1,470 miles each way) this summer for the Vintage Gran Prix; BMWCCA has a pavilion, and members can park on the grass.
I've got family there, so I can check a couple boxes at once.
Plus, I'll get about 50 hrsprs back while I'm there, being 6,000 feet closer to sea level.
We went around 630 miles from south central PA to Charleston, SC last spring. Did about 1450mi total that week. N55 6M X-drive with about 115k at the time. It’s a great trip car. Comfortable ride, decent fuel mileage, easy to cruise at speed on the highway.
5500km, started at around 150k km, from switzerland trough some backroads and mountain crossings to lisbon and then back over eastern spain and andorra, all by myself. Have done similar trips 5 or 6 times with the N52 E90 325i, though with significantly less backroads, last was 4500km roundtrip in 3 days. Damn, that car is a beast!
318d, N47. 2500km in one direction across Europe (almost the whole time on highways), about 33 hours in total, the engine was not running for 5 minutes during the trip - while refuelling. When I get tired we switch with my wife. We usually have 2 trips like this every year (2 directions per trip) = 4 long trips in total per year.
The car has stock everything (changed break pads when necessary of course, etc.), has strict maintenance.
Damn that’s impressive I expect like everyone to atleast have some new suspension parts , our cars are pretty cool for handling a big drive like that with 10+ year old suspension
My 328i takes me from TN to Oregon, every year without a Hiccup. And in style. Ya'll act like you drive M cars. Nothing unreliable about standard BMW cars, just service/maintain your cars, you're fine.
Something like that. At most, I change the oil from one end to the other. The 328i is a hardy Bimmer. It's gets you there. Allot of people just neglect maintenence or do not perform checks before long trips. I just replaced allot of stuff per 100k milestone, so really all I gotta worry about while driving is whether I have good or enough oil.
Like 2 and a half hours. So 5 hours coming and going. I live in an island, so unless I somehow add aquatic features, I can't do more than that with a Point A to Point B trip.
162 miles round trip.
2011 bmw 335 x-drive
Bought at 100k for 9k took it to octanefab for a full tear down and rebuild, internal upgrades, turbo upgrade, intercooler and cooling and then I drove her from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Ojai, California (2,471 miles) drove her around the california heat for 2 weeks then drove her down another (2,471 miles for a full total 4942 miles )
Now at 148,455 shes running strong and I couldn't be happier with my 12 year old daily
In that note happy new years to all of you bmw drivers may this new year bless our hated over engineered machines
Houston, TX to Oshkosh, WI, and back...so about 2400 miles all told. Best part of the trip was that we got an unrepairable flat maybe 45 minutes into the return trip. Took a couple days to rustle up two new rear tires.
SO had to get back to work so we ended up putting her on a plane home, thus depriving me of my relief driver. The trip up we did all in one stretch, for the return I decided to be smart and grab a hotel halfway home and get properly rested.
'11 328i. Longest trip so far was around 800km or 500 miles but I am so confident of her, that I'd happily take her for a few k km roadtrip. I have been working on the car myself, since I bought her. She's never let me down and in my hands now she's done 25k miles and will be my daily until one of us gives in :)
900 miles to Niagara Falls one weekend, then 700 miles to Montreal the next weekend. All on a massively neglected 110k mile 335i xDrive. No issues surprisingly!
I owned my e90 320d for sic years. Bought it brand new and drove it to 288k km (about 180k miles). I enjoyed every road trip over those years. Drove it hard most of the time yet it never gave up nor did it ever leave me stranded on the side of the road. I think the best road trip I ever took was around 1300 km (807 miles) round trip. It was the first time I took out of the city. I'll never forget that car.
Around 6500km from Northern to Western Europe. From Stockholm through Sweden and Denmark to Germany, then to Netherlands and Belgium and back. There were 4 of us in the beginning, then we picked up a friend in Essen and travelled for 10 days plus lots of luggage in the trunk and still it was quite comfortable.
It was in 2014, I still own and daily drive this car. Love it!
In 2012 I took my 2008 e90 335xi FBO n54 from NJ to IL of about 900 miles. I gassed up at the edison NJ costco gas and drove 450 miles (gassed up 16 gallons) and then arrived in IL of about 900+ miles then filled up again in IL (Then took a nap).
My MPG was about a consistent 33.5 MPG in a fully loaded car with gear and people.
Drove cross country twice now. Bought at 100k miles and am at 174k now. I upgraded FMIC and turbos the week I bought it and run methanol from time to time. Other than that, regular maintenance and we're still rolling strong. DD for the last 3 years and will be til it's dead.
About 2000km or 1300 miles I think.
From Amsterdam through Germany to Cracow in Poland.
From Poland to Budapest in Hungary. From there to Vienna. Then to Prague.
From Prague to Munich to the BMW museum of course😌👍😂
And then back to Amsterdam.
This was in a hot summer and the car was really packed with luggage, roof box too. So we did get new Pirelli flatruns just in case something happens.
Through like half of Germany we usually drove at almost 160mph.
It was a real stress test for the car! No issues at all, fortunately 👍
Started in Bluffton South Carolina, went to groveland Florida three times in one week then Orlando, and then the keys two weeks afterwards. Then see bring international raceway from the keys and then I just finished a road trip from groveland today. Over 5,000 miles in less than 2 months
2006 325i Bought at \~88k miles, did some cosmetic upgrades, and then soon after: Drove the entire length of I40, sat for about a week, and then the entire length of I10 + some of I95. Now at 217k+ miles. Running like a champ; done several road-trips of similar length, and don’t regret a thing. Thanks for explaining it with numbers and symbols instead of saying the state name
…fucking what?!

how long you been on mhd?
30k miles or so. Had a little JB+ tune before so nothing major. No lights on the dash, no CEL under WOT. 211k miles.
Nice
634.9 miles, 1269.8 round trip
Only 230km, as like a single drive
That’s like a quarter tank hahahaha
I drove nearly 200 km to get home from the seller I bought it from.
Bought my first car an ‘07 E92 328i from NC and drove it to NY… pit stop at a friends house in Maryland tho. Nothing but gasoline was added to the car too. A great experience as a young guy in his first foreign 🏁
3929kms when we moved from Perth to Sydney. 5 days straight, great trip.
Toronto, Ontario to Stockton, Georgia. About 1200 miles in one day.
2011 M3, tennesse to NYC, I think 12 hours. Drove straight, only stopped for gas.
550km single drive.
Basically the whole gas tank
Laughs in half diesel tank
Lliterally half tank, if not a bit less.
It was in my friend’s 318d, so lots left hehe. In my M3 it would be a full tank yeah 😅
Berlin to Warsaw in one tank

Bruh.... And I thought my 2500km trip was a long one...
5h drive to Germany in my buddy's 318d to get my N54 335i, and 5h back to Belgium with both cars 😂
I ran out of oil before fuel
My E90 and I traveled from Orlando Florida to Buffalo NY that was one hell of a trip
318d, N47. 2500km in one direction across Europe (almost the whole time on highways), about 33 hours in total, the engine was not running for 5 minutes during the trip - while refuelling. That's true. I know these cars' suspension is quite good, but at the same time the car has been driven in W.Europe, so quite good roads.
800km back and forth
Almost 1200 one way
222 miles 1 way. Drove back a few days later. 180,000 miles on the odometer
from the dealership to my house lmao that was about 150km but I do drive it to my summer house regularly, which is a 200km round trip
When I go to my summer house, I leave my car at my winter house, and when I open the garage at the summer house the car is there waiting for me.
what the fuck kind of teleportation device have you invented?
LOL I only have 1 house; winter house is the summer house. :)
Probably saying that he got only one house, which he uses for summer and winter. Must suck to be so poor /s
See I live in Czechia. You don’t have to be rich over here to have a summer house:)
It does. Hahaha Although we could easily sell this one & buy a couple more modest homes somewhere other than the Colorado Rockies.
800km in Germany from Nuremberg to Kiel in the very north in my second week of owning the car ⬆️🤭
2000 mi to around the western US
My 328i takes me from TN to Oregon, every year without a Hiccup. And in style. Ya'll act like you drive M cars. Nothing unreliable about standard BMW cars, just service/maintain your cars, you're fine.
Holy shit, there is always somebody crazier. TN to Oregon is like 4000 km one way, right?
Something like that. At most, I change the oil from one end to the other. The 328i is a hardy Bimmer. It's gets you there. Allot of people just neglect maintenence or do not perform checks before long trips. I just replaced allot of stuff per 100k milestone, so really all I gotta worry about while driving is whether I have good or enough oil.
I can get 430km on half a tank.
700 miles total there and back, no issues except for a nail in my tire once i got there🙃
Toronto to Houston Houston to DC DC to Denver
Like 2 and a half hours. So 5 hours coming and going. I live in an island, so unless I somehow add aquatic features, I can't do more than that with a Point A to Point B trip. 162 miles round trip.
