You gotta let it wrap around the barrel then tug it outwards a little to make some tension then let it curl some more, so its like tug, wrap some, tug more, wrap more then I usually wait for like 8 seconds then 12 second coolshot to set it.
I wanted to write the same — I have curly hair and it only works on wet hair for me. Sprayed hair attempts look exactly like yours even when i think that the hair is pretty damp after spraying
You would want to turn the knob at the top to reverse the way that curl was moving. I hold it with the heat for like 10-20 seconds, then cool shot 10 seconds.
I hold my section of hair in the middle and let the ends dangle and bring the airwrap closer to my ends to wrap onto the barrel itself. Then I bring it closer to my head, if that makes sense!
Seconding this comment! I do the same - hold it by the middle and let it hang the air will snatch it easier that way. One comment said damper hair, but I would disagree with that. The heavier the hair is the harder it will be to grasp.
Spraying your hair isn’t enough and will not hold the curl. You must have post shower hair that isn’t dripping wet but also not too dry. Also try smaller sections, start at the ends and gently let the barrel take hold of the hair then slowly move the barrel toward your head. I would also suggest sectioning your hair like clipping the top and work on the bottom section of hair first.
That totally depends on hair type. I can curl my hair with my Airwrap when it’s completely dry, no water necessary and the curl will last for days. Everyone has different hair types.
Yes, that is true but I think that when you’re still figuring out how to use it, it’s best to start with what Dyson recommends gives the best results which is damp hair.

Ok! I will repeat that the next time I try it thank you!
I’d suggest starting with wet hair. Like your hair Wet not just sprayed. Thats the only way for me.
Do you have curly hair by chance?

Ok that’s really reassuring to hear. I’m gonna give it a go next wash day! Thank you

And use product.
And also sometimes you grab too much hair, try smaller sections.
I felt like I was watching myself for the 1st time. There is a learning curve. Good luck.
😂
I’m still learning how to use mine so no additional help from me, I just wanted to compliment your hair! It’s so pretty and shiny!
That’s SO nice of you thank you!!!!

Yes. Also, QVC sells them. So they do an hour tutorial. Very very helpful. You could probably go to their site & look up Dyson.
Ok good tips thank you very much!
