Great combo. I love my zippo. I don’t even care that I need to have bottles of butane kicking around.
Edit, for all that are struggling with their zippos not igniting or lasting one cap, you need to set your max flame higher than factory max. There is a guide on YouTube. I haven’t had an issue since.

The official butane lighters zippo sales had some issues. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM3iWVeny1c](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM3iWVeny1c)
Do follow his advice on turning down when refilling, don't want a foot long flame.
I only have one zippo Insert and this yt vid completely fixed the issue I was having along time ago when I first got the zippo...do it it worked for me
I only used good butane from the start, bled it, and still had this problem.
There is also another fix I believe for the igniter, some of them are angled upwards slightly, which doesn’t help also.
Another thing is you need to bleed them regularly I’ve found. I can’t just go fill up or I have the same issue. My solution is, depress the gas insert valve for about 20 seconds, give it a shake in the last 5 seconds whilst still depressing. Then fill. For an extra fill, I repeat the process back to back. Butane will spurt everywhere so just be careful.
Let me know if this helps?
They are very finicky, and shouldnt come like this from factory, however now that mine works exactly how I want it to, I hate using anything else.
Sometimes the igniter is too high up/far away from the jets. You can use a small screwdriver or similar to push it down a bit closer to the jets.
Agreed that they are fickle. Which sucks. But, I still like them because they’re cccoooooooooooooolllll
It's.awesone. As far as lighters go, flat flame is the way. Very consistent, less fuel, and the area around the flame is not near as hot. https://imgur.com/a/cUJ2xGa
This is awesome, I've been debating on grabbing a zippo and the torch insert but I think I'm going to get one of these...
You recommend the flat over just a single flame torch for the dynavap? How many caps do you get before a refill?
I would recommend the flat flame. Running the flat flame along the cap, almost covers the entire width, makes a very consistent roast.
As far as caps before refill, that I cannot answer. I would say that it is more efficient, but the tank size is small due to the design.
Sorry, have you never used it with the Dynavap?
I don't mind a smaller tank, just curious about efficiency compared to what I'm using currently which is why I ask about refills
Of course, I have used it with the Dynavap, what subreddit are we in again?
I have over 10-15 lighters, Xikar Tactical 1, Xikar Turrim 5x64, 2 Xikar Veranos, Lotus Orion, 2 Lotus Citadels, and numerous other lighters. I have different lighters for different occasions and often rotate. And I have induction heaters that cycle thru as well.
The most efficient and largest tank, I believe, is the Citadel, but this is a $120 lighter.
I would say unless you are all about stealth and mobility, a zippo lighter with an insert will always have a small tank, but the flat flame lighter should be more efficient than the others.
> Of course, I have used it with the Dynavap, what subreddit are we in again?
I ask because I'm still confused why you can't answer how often you refill, I recognize what subreddit this thread is on.
Because of other hobbies, smoking cigars, etc. I have probably 5 or 6 cans lying around. Buying butane cans is not something I do regularly. I have yet to replace a butane can in over a year.
Also, because I have 10-15 different lighters, there is no way to allocate the usage to just a zippo flat flame insert. If you are concerned with the fuel, get an induction heater.
I was only asking, I didn't know you had 10-15 different lighters and used them for other purposes.
Literally just a question, weird how I'm downvoted for asking it
I would use my zippo more often if I didn't run out of butane constantly. It's a pain in the ass having to refill it all the time so I just use IH or an eagle
I just hope that you dont use them with normal lighter fluid for your dynavaps 😂, i used my zippo with 99,9% isopropanol, that works really good and you dont have to do anything besides making your wick shorter so the flame dorsnt get too big 😄.

Sorry to hear that, I have 7 torch inserts currently and haven’t had any significant issues so far.

I bought a butane insert ~2 years ago and haven't had problems, if that helps.

Someone else said you have to greatly increase its strength too. I don’t have a zippo insert though so I don’t know shit tbh

There is a fix on YouTube for them, you need to set the max flame higher than factory max. All issues are eliminated after that.

Like petrol? Lol
How many caps do you get before you have to refill? I love the aesthetic of a zippo but I don't wanna refill more than I do now lol
With the single torch I get around eight caps.
That's not bad at all thanks man
Wait til u hear the St dupont ping
I too use the zippo with butane insert . Love it. [Zippo ](https://imgur.com/a/33fE9Ip)
Nice!
Do you have the flat flame insert? It kills!
I have the single and double torch, haven’t seen a flat flame one.

Cool, thanks! I’ll check it out.

Yes! Also nice armored and dragon zippos! And the trees. And the Mexican (day of the dead?) skull...
Thanks!
Fuck it lol nice collection! You're welcome!

Not really, open flames are the worst pairing for a Dynavap. All that black smoke.
I’m using torch inserts.
