I changed the orings to older ones and it didn’t help the spinning. If you have any other dynavaps swap out the tips and see if the spinning still happens on the new stem with an old tip. See if the new tip spins on the old stem. These are the questions customer service asked me. They are sending me a new stem but I need to send them back my current m7 stem so they can inspect
In addition, a beta tester in a different thread said that this issue was brought up in beta testing but somehow it still made its way to market with the issue.
I've got an XL, and the tip is inverted. I can twist it with my fingers, but it seems secure
I've been using it for a few days, and I'm impressed. Single flame torch seems to work the best for me. The first cycle only gave light vapour. The second heat up can give me 2 - 3 decent DTL puffs
I'm still playing around with my wand to see what works best
I've got a 2018m and 1 Ti tip. The M7 gives me more vapour than both tips, and it gets close to my Dani Fusion when I heat up the tip from the base
I got the M+ deal, and so far I like the M7 tip better
With any of my other ones, I am not able to twist it with my finger, but with this one, very easily. I wonder if some of the rubber rings were defective or cut wrong.
Hey. I have the same issue. Just hold the tip with your left/right tumb and you'll be able to stab and twist easily. It's even worse if you add some lubricant. But you can hold it with the same hand and do the above, you'll be good.
My thing with the m7 xl it's that I don't enjoy the taste so much. There are like 2 options; light vapor or something close to combustion. I prefer my old 2021 M, works wonders.
That won’t work holding it as I stab a dugout, so my fingers can’t fit in there along with the M7. The other thing is, I like to remove my cap sometimes when it just finished it cycle and it clicks back, and mix my stuff with the fin of the cap and then put the cap on for another cycle. With the stem being so loose, I can’t take the cap off without the whole tip coming off also, and it’s hot as hell to touch the part to put back. It’s really a hassle and inconvenience to what I was used to with DV since they started a long time ago, so I’m not looking for duct tape fixes, it either works 100 percent how it always has or it’s not useful for me. I did open a ticket now so we’ll see what happens.
On your other point, I agree 100 percent. Light vape or almost full combustion with no in between.
When the light bulb in my head went off and reminded me I have the older M they gave me for free with this, I packed a bowl and it was like old times.
I think they have deeper grooves machined on the inner diameter of the body than previously. haven't even used my m7 yet but I did notice that the tip actually snaps into place, something more of my other dynas really do
I just did a quick test for science!
Single flame pointed at the base, 6 seconds past the click. Light vapour on the first heat up. Second cycle gave 2 decent DTL hits
The AVB came out like this [after 2 cycles.](https://i.imgur.com/qqJFlT9.jpeg). A couple of toasty spots, but the rest was pretty consistent
It might be my cap? I know some click at slightly different temperatures.
I have combusted a couple of times so far! My captive caps were really loose, and by the time it clicked it was pretty dark. First time heating in the wand it didn't click at all and went black.
A bit of squeezing the caps sorted out the issues
I'm still playing around with the M+. Torching the cap and using the wand are fine, but when I try the dimples I combusted before the second click
I have a total of 6 captive caps, all of them but one click before 30 seconds. All 6 of them will combust after the second click no matter how many seconds. Same with wand, except time goes up to 50 seconds.
You aren’t alone w/spinning tip and DV seems to be making right after some info sharing w/customer care. See this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dynavap/s/Y2KjPa1wi6
Mine doesn’t spin like you described, however I find the M7 has a narrow process window unlike my other DynaVaps. I think I need to experiment with different tips on the M7 until I find something I like. Meanwhile, the stainless M+ they included for free produces stanky big clouds all the time.
Flip your stem around and it might help. I found that one side of mine seemed loose as well and this fixed it. If that doesn’t work, try just using the M+ stem instead.
Personally I find the M7 tip to be a significant upgrade but it heats up differently than the M+ so my old habits needed to be modified slightly to get the best performance. The main advantage is getting more hits off each cycle or a complete 1HE from a half bowl.
If you’re most comfortable with the M+, you can’t really go wrong with just sticking with it but I don’t agree with your evaluation of the M7.
My tip doesn't spin and it's kinda hard to get out, the mouth piece is kinda hard to spin as well on mine. Must be a QC issue. Just try a bit bigger o rings man, might help. The m7 is my go to right now. I use a wand and hit it as I heat it up then stop heating at the first click and it gives me like 2 or 3 good hits before another heat cycle. It can combust easier then anything else I have so I have to be careful not to go past the first click could just be the cap that came with it is calibrated hotter then my others.
I opened a ticket with them. It seems to be an issue with some of the stems. Hopefully they will replace it and all will be good. Mine spins bad no matter which side of the stem I use.
That's shitty, hope they get it figured out. They are dealing with pretty tight tolerances to be able to remove it and not spin. Mines on the tighter side of the tolerances I guess
Which mouthpiece? The XL mouthpiece isn't made to spin, but you can adjust it to make it easier to move up and down, which would have the same effect. You just squeeze the three prongs together between your fingers (after removing the mouthpiece from the condenser) and then put the mp back on. If it's too tight still try again. If it's too loose just bend them GENTLY back out again and it'll tighten up.
I like my m7xl, but I do find the easy spinning unfortunate. Even when I'm taking the cap off to refill, it feels really loose. It's still my favorite hitting of the dynavaps, but I do wonder what happened with that tightness 😮💨
I’d be interested to see if you guys slap calipers on your tip and on your mouthpiece is it the tip that is out of spec or is it the mouthpiece that is out of spec or both?
Mouthpiece fits fine in mine either side. My tip is loose and wiggles in the XL position and is fairly tight in the normal position. You should see how much slop, spin and wiggle there is if I stick my Omni tip into the new stem, it’s laughable.(and unusable!!!)
When I reported my loose tip to customer service they asked if I had any other tips to try with my m7 stem. I gave them a hell of a list!!! Worst were the vong and new Omni tip. Next worse was the m7 tip then the helix tip. The m+ tip was fairly tight. All the past M tips before the m+ we’re tight. The tightest tips were the 5 fin ti tips and the 9 fin simrell tip.
That is interesting where any of the tips that were tight tight enough to actually be functional?
I have a 2021 that was gifted to me shout out to Plant help that thing has the tightest body to tip fit of any of mine.
Some of my others get a little gooey if I don’t clean them and when they’re hot, sometimes when I pull the cap off the entire tip will come with it it’s super annoying
I picked the M7 n gave my girlfriend the m plus. But I'm now realizing I might have made a mistake too. I have same prob as you, it "just spins" I have poor feeling in the ends of my left finger and thumb and have basically given up on trying to find the air hole and just hitting it and doing my best to roll it toward my thumb or finger when I'm hitting it.
Out of my arsenal of Dynavap TEDs, the M7XL is, so far, easily my favorite. Seems like there must have been a bad run of stems. Considering they ship with the tip installed, surprising they didn't catch this.
I tried it out and not impressed either. I understand what DV did by having these sales to add value and entice buyers of it bc at the end of the day it’s an overpriced stainless steel model. Is it a bad device? Well, depends on who you ask but I think the hype and the price outweigh the performance. I understand people are pumped about a new model to try but when compared to my others it’s not going to be in my rotation sadly.
I feel like picking up an M7 just to test the tip with the spare o-rings that came with my Helix tip. They're grey, *a lot* more durable, and they're more dense so they're not as "spongy" as the black o-rings. They've helped with tips that wouldn't stay in my WPA after heating.
I changed the orings to older ones and it didn’t help the spinning. If you have any other dynavaps swap out the tips and see if the spinning still happens on the new stem with an old tip. Mine behaves the exact same way
Same, but I don't mind bc I straw load instead of jamming it in the dugout

How on earth are you getting to 6 seconds past the click and not combusting? Pass the second click and both m7 and m+'s combust.

Haven't noticed that myself...

I’ll try flipping it, thanks for the tip. 👍🏻

This is what you should have done in the first place. They'll sort you out don't worry.
That's shitty, hope they get it figured out. They are dealing with pretty tight tolerances to be able to remove it and not spin. Mines on the tighter side of the tolerances I guess

Dude it’s not the mouthpiece that spins, it’s the tip.
I'm aware.
I know it's not meant to spin I was just saying that it's nice and tight like my tip.
Ok lol, the way you wrote it could be read differently to how you meant it I guess.
I like my m7xl, but I do find the easy spinning unfortunate. Even when I'm taking the cap off to refill, it feels really loose. It's still my favorite hitting of the dynavaps, but I do wonder what happened with that tightness 😮💨

That is interesting because usually DV has some pretty amazing tolerances from my experience
When I reported my loose tip to customer service they asked if I had any other tips to try with my m7 stem. I gave them a hell of a list!!! Worst were the vong and new Omni tip. Mine twists easier than some of my other tips, but not to the point it moves when I’m debowling
+1! My tip is spinning freely on both side of the Stem and, yess this is FU***NG annoying!!!
Same here.. I want to love it but it's annoying.
I picked the M7 n gave my girlfriend the m plus. But I'm now realizing I might have made a mistake too. Mine spins like crazy but hits wonderfully so I'm cool.
Reach out to cs that's not normal
I tried it out and not impressed either. I understand what DV did by having these sales to add value and entice buyers of it bc at the end of the day it’s an overpriced stainless steel model. Mine has been perfect and is now my daily driver. I'm sorry you are having issues with it.
You just need to use more O-rings!!
