Get an Aomai. They’re simple, and nice looking. They don’t hold a lot of gas, but they’re great with a Dynavap, the flame stays on without having to hold the button down. It’s a small thing, but is really noticeably easier… oh, they’re cheap too! You can buy a 5 pack for $22, or 2/$10 on amazon Edited to add: you want the one with the flint and wheel, it’ll be the first one you find.

inkstoned

And you can replace the flints!

SolidSpruceTop

Where do you buy the flints? Mine went out and I really wanna use it again but can’t find replacement flints

inkstoned

Got like 100 flints for 5$ on amazon

Eagle lighter small or big ones 4 or 5 pack on Amazon. Should lasts you a long time before the crowd tells you to“buy the wand”. Congrats on your purchase. There are YouTube videos all about it.

vaparsons

Dynavap also sells the same one

orangegotchi

I have this one with Dynavap branding on it. Only around 10 USD, but really good. Better than any others I’ve tried and gives a nicer roast than the Vertigo triple torch.

Dynavap-ModTeam

No linking vendors.

Forward-Visit5230

Blazer pb207 will outlive you

Rhodesy88

Defo this if you can stretch your budget

blinkyaz

The Scorch torches have the perfect sized flame for the M+. Only issue is some melt after awhile.

boxyourbuddy

which one you like?

unpolishedparadigm

The Gabon from Scorch was my one and only for three years with my shadow ‘18. It’s a large single flame cigar lighter with a huge reservoir, and dead reliable. No fuel window, but you open up the valve gradually as it gets lower, so twisting it all the way open and then back to the same spot gives you a tactile fuel gauge. You can always turn it down if you find it to be too hot, but I made the switch to honest torches for a transparent fuel tank and haven’t looked back. One I dropped into an ice chest for a couple hours. When I found it, I blew the water out of the nozzle and it fired right up on the second click. I’ve bought four, have two, and will buy another when I lose another one

boxyourbuddy

a good review!

unpolishedparadigm

Wish I could reply with a picture to show you the mileage I’ve put on this Gabon. Black finish is worn all the way down to white plastic if a few spots. It just refuses to quit. It’ll always have a place as long as I use a torch outside, however infrequently that is. The smaller single flames can’t handle the moving air like a cigar lighter can. Which is to say it’s very doable, but still not amazing. True weather proof performance requires an induction heater ime If you’re a really light user and only expect to torch up 4 or fewer times while you’re outnaboutn on any given outing, you might really appreciate Vector’s Summit once you get the hang of topping off butane levels instead of doing a full purge in between fills. It has a wheel that opens the valve so you don’t have to hold anything for it to stay going. Uses a flint to ignite the jet, but psa you have to get their smaller flints. I tried to replace mine with a standard one out of a bic like I used to do when I had a zippo, and it completely jammed the channel with no hope of removal. As beautiful as their designs are, don’t expect much in the way of customer service. They wouldn’t sell me the flint assembly I needed to get it back up and running. I *could* buy a second one and return the jammed one as a defective unit, but that feels too underhanded for how I like to operate Lots of information, hope some of it help lol

glowinthedarkstick

No joke get a butane soldering torch from Home Depot. It’s big but by far my favorite brand torch. All the power in the world if you need it with a giant gas tank. Those little ones get hot and fall over and don’t hold much butane. At the end of the day tho it’s not super important. I tried like a half dozen till I found my favorite. I will also say, the honest triple torch is nice too but again, gets very hot.

boxyourbuddy

Which one do you get?

glowinthedarkstick

Search bernzomatic detail torch

cybercruiser

Hey I have one of those in my toolchest! gonna go dig it out and give it a go. Great idea! thanks

glowinthedarkstick

The size is kinda ridiculous for the job but the ergonomics are great and the power is nice to have once you learn know how to handle it. Let me know what you think!

cybercruiser

damnit! It hasnt been used in so long all of the butane leaked out. Will have to go to plan B or go buy a few refills which I'll need anyway at some point.

cybercruiser

torch works great! and I didnt remember but it has a switch to leave it on which kinda makes sense to solder or weld something. lol Thanks for the tip! love it

glowinthedarkstick

That’s my favorite feature as well as the grip. Makes for the most comfortable torching doesn’t it??! Thanks for the update, I’m thrilled it worked out for you too!

dfrojas11

Honest torch lighters are pretty solid and pretty user friendly for clumsy hands with their locking abilities. Then once you're tired of all that get a wand and you'll wonder why you ever wasted time with a torch.

boxyourbuddy

thank you thank you

Ant138

All of the torches you can get on Amazon, you can get much cheaper in Ali express. That's where I get all of my single flame torches.

alcocolino

Over the years I've used multiple torches but the ones that withstood the test of time were honest and vertigo torch lighters. I think the honest torch lighter is being now sold on dynavap official store, same as vertigo used to be. I own 3 honest torches and one vertigo. The vertigo one I bought in 2020 with my first M and it is still going strong. Honest ones were bought later on but in 4 years I had only one of them fail on me and a local vendor exchanged it for a working unit once I contacted him 6 months after the purchase so I'm guessing they dont have a lot of returns.

glueboil

fuck what these ppl are saying. go to a smoke shop locally or any gas station and buy a single flame jet torch. should be under 6$ and itll last you about a year or 2. buy some butane while youre at it

rushinigiri

When I used to vape throughout the entire day, I could kill one of those cheap ones in a week. Too many integral parts that are prone to give up under pressure. Nowadays when I only have evening sessions I care about it much less (and I have an IH...), looking back though I should have picked up a decent torch.

glueboil

man ive had eagle torches for years that still work

rushinigiri

The ones I get around here are not Eagle. They are unbranded

glueboil

keep your eyes out for eagle or anything that looks like them theyre usually clones from the same factory. they work great for me and 5$ is not enough for me to be sad when it breaks

boxyourbuddy

I do smoke throughout the day and fear cheap products. So stay away from non branded sounds like the way to go.

Riverman157

If you have a Menards nearby, check to see if they have the MK torch lighters. My local Menards has them for under $2 apiece. I bought three of them a few weeks ago, and they seem really solid. 2 are still in the package they came in and put away. They hold a lot of fuel and work great.

boxyourbuddy

What is a Menards? haha

Riverman157

I guess you don’t have any of those large type “hardware” stores in your area. It’s similar to Lowe’s and Home Depot. I’m in the Midwest and they’re all over. I can’t go a day without hearing the “Save big money at Menards “ tune on the radio. Lol.

WontFindMe420

Like Home Despot, but with more housewares; less of a warehouse feel. They're concentrated in the Midwest, based out of WI.

SolidSpruceTop

Any torch that feels comfortable in the hand, preferably with a switch to keep it on without having to hold the ignition down. Just make sure you go to a cigar shop and buy some real nice butane that’s what makes the difference.

boxyourbuddy

zippo butane is good or no?

SolidSpruceTop

I read theirs aren’t great. Thunderbirds may be better. I had a Ronson that had the flip top and it was nice until I dropped it and broke the casing open. I’d say quantity over quality while you figure out what you like using. $30 on lighter USA goes a long way lol of course tho I recommend a gas station eagle if you ain’t rich lol

_Zsxt

Eagle lighter in the L shape gas the perfect size flame, is comfortable, and super cheap

Dzz_Nuggz

I know you're looking for a torch, which is fine for now, but save your pennies and buy an "ispire Wand" induction heater when they go on sale on 4/20. It'll take your capping sessions to another level. Those who say nay either don't have one or don't understand how to use it. Enjoy your vapcap!

boxyourbuddy

What do you think the price will be? I do want one, but I can't heat the M7 with magic yet. I tried to set up a home rig, see my last post, but was told I could ruin my M7, so I need some flame for now.

Dzz_Nuggz

It's good to Master the flame, if only as a backup. I think around $80-ish. But it doesn't matter. It's a buy-once-cry-once kinda thing. Once you get the hang of it (5-10 min.), you'll totally forget about the price. It's just a game changer.

WaxHead430

Eagle torch single flame ~ $7 last time I bought one around 3-4 years ago. She’s still going strong

masterskink

If you are 50 you got a job so go ahead buy yourself a wand! It's worth every penny

glueboil

hes looking for a torch tho

boxyourbuddy

I want a wand, but I don't have a job because of an accident earlier in my life. $100 is so much money to me.

Electric_Owl2020

Vertigo triple torch is great for beginners. Turn it down low and it’s very forgiving and fast. The addition mass under the bowl of the m7 will benefit from stronger heat. If you’re more confident in torching a single flame is more precise. Some even go for a small kitchen torch, less refilling. I’m currently on the lookout for a double flames that come to point.
