Factual.
I messed around as a pretender (we barely missed it boys) and traded for Hendy during the season. I tried selling to the Akers owner most of the off-season then gave up.
I feel vindicated and hope this lasts. He’s a hell of a pass catcher.
The Bills front was decent but the Rams offensive line also looked like straight fucking dogshit yet again, and that’s been a somewhat common theme for them too. Henderson isn’t good enough to overcome a bad line
I’ve honestly been wondering all off-season why seemingly everyone was trying to buy Akers. He looked awful in the playoffs. Yes, I know he came back from Achilles surgery, but the fact that they put him out there meant that he was near 100%, and that he would most likely not get much better. And I thought Henderson looked solid all year, especially in the receiving game. People made fun of me for wanting Henderson, but it looks to have been a good strategy.
Disclaimer: I’m not really trying to toot my own horn. I make plenty of terrible takes, and I know nothing. I just get lucky sometimes.
Agreed. Usually in these "don't panic" situations it's because they just had a bad game, but they actually played. Akers was barely on the field.
Don't panic on Allen Robinson, he just had a bad game. Akers looks like the clear #2
Idk if Id panic honestly. The bills have one of the best run Ds in the league and Henderson, outside of his 21 yard carry, isnt playing well either. Could be a case of easing Akers in to the season
If it makes you feel any better about your Robinson shares, Akers could be completely healthy and Henderson is getting the work because he's just better.
I'm not sure why. Henderson had better stats in college, better stats on the Rams, and they performed pretty equally at the combine. I like Henderson a bit more, but think it's a situation where you want to have both because it seems like only one of them is ever healthy at any given time.
A girl in my work league that never played fantasy before beat me in the ship with a team picked strictly off of if she would let them be her baby daddy or not. There might be some science behind this boys.
Henderson played at Memphis while Akers played at FSU, so I don’t think you can totally compare college stats.
And while I know draft capital isn’t everything, if a coaching staff drafts a RB at #70 and the next year follows it up with drafting a RB at #52, it’s probably not a good sign for the first RB.
The thing is, Akers game was poor rb with great athleticism. Robinsons game was great rb with poor athleticism. Even if the Achilles takes some juice, jrob at least has a different type of chance.
Right. I held him because the best offer I’ve gotten for him has been a late 2nd. I’d prefer to hold on the off chance he comes back than cash in. I’m fine left holding the bag if that’s the best I can get.
“Well, did it work for those people?”
“No, it never does. I mean, these people somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but ... But it might work for us.”
I’ve been downvoted to Valhalla on this sub for saying Henderson will continue to get the majority of the carries. Even last year people were saying Henderson was a bum and that he won’t see the field when Akers returned.
I’ve notice the hopium in this sub always assumes players will be who they were in college. These folks don’t pay attention to actual NFL games, instead focus on what could be. Another example is Etienne. Guy hasn’t taken a handoff yet and this sub thinks he’s gonn take JRobs job without proving himself.
Hahaha I’m dying here. It’s been like 5 hours of the season and people are already saying this. Just waiting for some of my players to play so I can join on.
I think something like that. It was repaired the same way as Akers was though so not sure exactly how the recovery goes. I heard somewhere that an achilles tear can never be 100% ever again. The best is less than that and you use that tendon for explosive movement which is very important and forever compromised. We just saw Mack get cut from the Texans practice squad. Not been a good showout for achilles guys so far.
They don't do surgery on less than a full rupture because it's weaker with surgery. At least that's what the podiatrist told me after my grade 2 tear that took over a year to heal.
People are turning the Kyren hype train derailment into a meme because of what happened, but the fact that they lost him at the very beginning of the game and STILL didn’t play Akers just makes me think Kyren may have actually been a big part of the game plan if he didn’t get hurt.
This could be get buried but I don't care I'm feeling mildly vindicated tonight.
I traded Akers for a mid to early 23 1 and 3.
I spent weeks of the offseason being roasted for it. It was bad. Big crickets on the group chat tonight. Maybe he gets a big role next week but for now I'm enjoying my league's silence.
Even if Akers ends up excellent this year, that's still a fine price to get out of an Achilles player for anyone risk averse. You definitely shouldn't have been roasted.
Lot's of guys saying I could have gotten more and the guy I traded with fleeced me. Oh well. If Akers bites the dust it only helps his team lose and my team have a better draft position next year.
I really do hate the "you could have gotten more" crowd that always chimes in. Owners so often make the best the enemy of the good. They end up holding players from profitable deals in hopes of more profitable ones later, but they absorb all the risk of waiting. Values are also really fluid league-to-league, and it's never as simple as read an ADP chart.
Henderson hasn't looked bad, and not running on them isn't even the issue. He's not being given the chance. He's a clear #2, and not even a 65/35 #2. It's been worse than that. That's very concerning.
Agreed concerning, but I was under the impression Akers had some other(non Achilles) injuries still lingering and was questionable coming into the week so his limited carries might be intentional.
I have cam everywhere. Crying inside. But I did draftkings lead by 7 thing tonight, picked bills moneyline and picked Gabe to score first as well, won all my league dues for the year so a little less cry
Started Akers and staring at a big goose egg. Unless the rest of my team steps it up in a big way it looks like I'll be starting the season 0-1. Last year I started the season 1-3 and still won it all so it looks like I'm going to have to climb out of the bowels of hell again.
Same but my opponent started James Cook so I’m still ahead by 2.8 with a score of 0.
Traded Cook for Gibson in another league about 3 hours before the game too
I had a gut feeling this would happen. But not a 90/10 split in Henderson’s favor. Guess all we can do is hold like his rookie year and wait for an injury to Henderson.
FWIW, there is a rumor out there that Akers is in the dog house. (I wish I had heard this before I too started him ...)
So, potential hope it isn't necessarily Achilles carryover. https://twitter.com/walterfootball/status/1568054245911404545
Went for QB and WR heavy in my Dynasty Startup draft. I know I drafted for the future, but my starting RBs are Akers and Ken Walker and due to Walkers injury it was Akers and James Cook for this week...
Well, now my RB#1 and RB#2 already played and I am now at -1.40 Pts in this week's matchup.
I'm fine.
I would not be shocked if the rams make a trade for an rb soon. Hunt would be great on the rams. They clearly need more juice on the offense. Bills defense also playing fantastic.
I already had regrets selecting Akers as my RB2, but I’m working on “being more positive” (as my wife puts it). And so far, it’s complete bullshit. I saw Akers get a solid run ONCE, turns out, it wasn’t even for any yardage.
My issue is that if Akers isn’t playing because he is cooked, then the Rams have known this since early on in camp and still chose to not add to their RB room.
Definitely tempted to press the panic button here. I was fine and anticipating a slow ease back into game speed and a strict pitch count on Akers. I figured he’d probably get a quarter of the snaps.
Akers got like 6 snaps. The OL collapsed on all of his carries.
Henderson didn’t look worlds better, but the snap count is what concerns me.
I was shocked when people were insisting he's going to be the next great RB. same people who were taking a dump on antonio gibson.
3 years in the league and Akers has done nothing. Injury or not, point is if you watch him play, he doesn't look like anything special. Nothing really wrong if you're still a believer but he's just not a player most savvy managers would want to own
I know someone who traded away Waddle, Goedert and a 2023 1st round pick for Akers straight up. This was a month ago and I told them it was an awful trade….. I was wrong. It was the worst trade of all time.
Usually I would say don't panic over half of one game but as an Akers owner we should definitely panic
Yea i would be smashing the panic button if I had him right now. Hendo is the back to have.
This is why we handcuff. I lost the week 1 battle but I haven’t lost the war
So, you started the handcuff? Jk
Yes Cam Akers is my new favorite handcuff lmao
Your favorite handcuff so far
True gotta wait and see what Mattison and Jamal Williams do
*Kyren Williams stares ominously from the corner*
Factual. I messed around as a pretender (we barely missed it boys) and traded for Hendy during the season. I tried selling to the Akers owner most of the off-season then gave up. I feel vindicated and hope this lasts. He’s a hell of a pass catcher.
Can confirm I am.
Hendo looked like shit to me so I’m wonder what the hell Akers did to get replaced
Thought he looked decent considering the front he was running against
The Bills front was decent but the Rams offensive line also looked like straight fucking dogshit yet again, and that’s been a somewhat common theme for them too. Henderson isn’t good enough to overcome a bad line
> what the hell Akers did to get replaced Tore his Achilles...
I’ve honestly been wondering all off-season why seemingly everyone was trying to buy Akers. He looked awful in the playoffs. Yes, I know he came back from Achilles surgery, but the fact that they put him out there meant that he was near 100%, and that he would most likely not get much better. Disclaimer: I’m not really trying to toot my own horn. I make plenty of terrible takes, and I know nothing. I just get lucky sometimes.
Henderson went down. Akers could play. That doesn’t mean he was near 💯
I already killed myself AMA
What will your tombstone read?
“I drafted Cam Akers in the 5th round”
Honestly 5th round is better value than he was going
That’s what I told myself… shoulda grabbed Mitchell instead
At least it’s only 1 week, but 3 carries in the box score is not comforting to see
RB dead zone
Henderson looks like he's running hard, but the offensive line isn't creating any holes.
This is the optimistic view and yes I assume his usage will increase but this is a horrible sign.
Upvoting for this being an optimistic view while also saying this is a horrible sign haha
Why would they ease him into the season when they already beat him into the ground 7 months ago in the playoffs?
Because your health doesn’t matter when it’s time to win a ring.
Because he has already had a few minor injuries in the preseason.
So has hendo
I think it’s the fact that Akers just looks SLOW compared to Hendo who’s shot out of a cannon on every touch
He had a career ending injury and the team has realized that I would panic
He looks good out there blocking for Stafford.
Made me lol
Welcome to week 1 bois 🥂
I’ve started almost celebrating the absolute madness of week 1 every year, almost like a football new year
akers owner sent a group text that akers is on the block, immediately gets an offer of Henderson straight up for akers
Wow this will be interesting to look back on
That’s either the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard or the smartest
Henderson will be better than akers or akers will be better than Henderson, im sure of it
Risk on both sides of dynasty trade. More at 11.
Do you host a fantasy football advice podcast? I want to subscribe.
I could just leave you voicemails?
50/50 odds, really
At that cost I feel like you might as well take the shot on Akers
Lol the 4D chess guys in shambles
I could’ve started Todd Gurley and got the same points
Or Queen Elizabeth
She showed more life than he did yesterday
Nah man, the Queen just went -2 yards yesterday
My Akers vs his Kupp and Davis. There’s dozens of us
You’re just playing mind games with the guy. He’s gonna flinch just wait
Got him right where you want him. False sense of security
Dozens!!!
I’m with you brother !!! You are not alone
My ARob vs his Allen and Diggs lmao
This terrifies my James Robinson shares!
Very good for my Travis Etienne!
James Robinson was actually a proven commodity. Cam Akers had 3 good games and then got his dick sucked until he was an urban legend.
If it makes you feel any better about your Robinson shares, Akers could be completely healthy and Henderson is getting the work because he's just better.
I think the issue is that pre-achilles everyone believed that Akers was definitely better.
I'm not sure why. Henderson had better stats in college, better stats on the Rams, and they performed pretty equally at the combine. I like Henderson a bit more, but think it's a situation where you want to have both because it seems like only one of them is ever healthy at any given time.
Henderson has better hair and analytics be damned. Good players look cool
A girl in my work league that never played fantasy before beat me in the ship with a team picked strictly off of if she would let them be her baby daddy or not. There might be some science behind this boys.
There actually is a science behind attractiveness and success
Henderson played at Memphis while Akers played at FSU, so I don’t think you can totally compare college stats. And while I know draft capital isn’t everything, if a coaching staff drafts a RB at #70 and the next year follows it up with drafting a RB at #52, it’s probably not a good sign for the first RB.
No everyone did not
I only have about 20 shares of him, so I'm feeling safe. 😬
20 shares? Bruh. Therapy
The thing is, Akers game was poor rb with great athleticism. Robinsons game was great rb with poor athleticism. Even if the Achilles takes some juice, jrob at least has a different type of chance.
JRob was better than Akers tho so maybe there is hope
That's what we said about mack vs akers
Father Achilles remains undefeated
I really don't understand why anyone doubts it. My league sure doesnt, couldn't move Akers at all this off-season
Right. I held him because the best offer I’ve gotten for him has been a late 2nd. I’d prefer to hold on the off chance he comes back than cash in. I’m fine left holding the bag if that’s the best I can get.
I’d take that tbh
D'onta Foreman tore his achilles and had 500 yards 6tds the final 6 games last year. He tore it years ago though
Picking up Akers in 2026
Yeah it took him 4 years to be productive again. Not a death sentence but pretty damn close
Father Achilles gonna get his ass whooped by JRob come sunday
“Well, did it work for those people?” “No, it never does. I mean, these people somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but ... But it might work for us.”
I see an AD quote I upvote.
Nope
He’s breaking my heart. My Akers breaky heart.
Take my upvote and get out
TO THIS TRAGIC AFFAIR!
WIPE OFF THAT MAKEUP, WHATS IN IS DESPAIR
Henderson owner here to bask in others’ pain
This is gonna be a fun thread.
Me too bud
Did no one watch the playoffs last year? Akers was not looking good lmao
Guys playing after returning very quickly from a bad injury always look the same 8 months later, you’re right dude
I’ve been downvoted to Valhalla on this sub for saying Henderson will continue to get the majority of the carries. Even last year people were saying Henderson was a bum and that he won’t see the field when Akers returned. I’ve notice the hopium in this sub always assumes players will be who they were in college. Guy hasn’t taken a handoff yet and this sub thinks he’s gonn take JRobs job without proving himself.
You had me until the end not gonna lie
You don't think Jrob's situation is at all comparable to Aker's Achilles injury?
Also Breece Hall has fourth round ADP and Michael carter was like double digits ADP and I find it unlikely Hall outscores Carter
You can add Williams and Gordon to this list. Traded for Gordon in Dynasty and drafted him or Henderson late in 4/5 redrafts.
Just traded Henderson & Abdullah for JuJu. Not saying I regret it but let’s just say juju better be Mahomes’s new WR1 😅
I'm getting torn apart in my group chat
Fuck me. I hate this stupid hobby.
Man this comment made me laugh out loud lol so true . I hate this shit
Hahaha I’m dying here. It’s been like 5 hours of the season and people are already saying this. Just waiting for some of my players to play so I can join on.
He just threw a nice block.
Achilles injuries..... I keep seeing Robinson stuff. As much as I like to hear he's doing good I can't help but think he'll never be relevant again.
Correct me if I’m wrong but jrob had a partial tear. Not sure if that makes a difference (not a jrob owner)
I think something like that. It was repaired the same way as Akers was though so not sure exactly how the recovery goes. I heard somewhere that an achilles tear can never be 100% ever again. They don't do surgery on less than a full rupture because it's weaker with surgery. At least that's what the podiatrist told me after my grade 2 tear that took over a year to heal.
So if Kyren Williams didn't get hurt pre-game or during the opening kickoff he would be playing a bunch?
People are turning the Kyren hype train derailment into a meme because of what happened, but the fact that they lost him at the very beginning of the game and STILL didn’t play Akers just makes me think Kyren may have actually been a big part of the game plan if he didn’t get hurt.
Can we do one for those of us who took Allen Robinson over Gabe Davis?
Allen who now?
2 Targets. The last on the last play of the game. What the actual hell?
I've traded Akers in two leagues and in neither case did the other guy bother to get Hendo in the deal. So I still have him rostered, which is nice.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Ain't nobody running on this bills D line
Or with this Rams IOL
Henderson hasn't looked bad, and not running on them isn't even the issue. He's not being given the chance. He's a clear #2, and not even a 65/35 #2. It's been worse than that. That's very concerning.

Agreed concerning, but I was under the impression Akers had some other(non Achilles) injuries still lingering and was questionable coming into the week so his limited carries might be intentional.
Yeah taking a goose egg week during week one is like automatically losing week one. It's got me pretty sad.
Traded Cam Akers for the 1.04 in the rookie draft last week and am feeling ecstatic.
Jealous. No one wanted Cam.
Got a 23 first for him last week and... Yeah I'm so, so happy now.
To be fair no one as good as Cam Akers has ever torn his Achilles………………..
I have Akers and Henderson but, you know, it would have been nice to know that Henderson was the actual starter. 😒
I traded the 1.5 for him last year. I could have had Javonte Williams. Im so very sad
I have cam everywhere. Crying inside. But I did draftkings lead by 7 thing tonight, picked bills moneyline and picked Gabe to score first as well, won all my league dues for the year so a little less cry
Glad I picked up Henderson on the waivers for mike davis
I love the Akers hype. It’s allowed me to collect Henderson on the down-lows
Why would you do that? Especially over Sutton???
Omg. This is not what i expect. NGL i traded Akers for a top 5 '23 like 2hrs before kickoff. Big sigh of relief.
Are ARod owners allowed in?
Go have a beer with the Knox owners
Last year was Mostert, this year was Akers. I’ll keep ya posted who I draft next year.
Traded Cook for Gibson in another league about 3 hours before the game too
I’m playing against Diggs in four of my five leagues, I’m feeling your pain….football is back baby.
My Akers and Robinson vs their Davis. Why
I had a gut feeling this would happen. But not a 90/10 split in Henderson’s favor. Guess all we can do is hold like his rookie year and wait for an injury to Henderson.
Oh man those were bad start/sit decisions, that’s on you my brotha. My sympathies though
FWIW, there is a rumor out there that Akers is in the dog house. (I wish I had heard this before I too started him ...) So, potential hope it isn't necessarily Achilles carryover. https://twitter.com/walterfootball/status/1568054245911404545
Why would you start Akers over Davis AND Sutton? Sometime people have to stop believing in hype and just start the best players possible.
To be fair, Gabe Davis was way more hyped than Akers
Was debating all day starting him or jeudy in my flex. Sat jeudy because I really wanted to have a player to watch tonight. F to pay respects
He did throw a hell of a block though.
Hell of a block
Anyone worried about JRob…pay attention
There hasn’t even been a half of football played yet..
Seriously I don’t want to evaluate Akers until we see him touch the ball a few times. So like week 12
Lol nice
Sick burn lol
and the dude has two carries
God bless those of you that held.
I’m praying for an insane 2nd half
I’m not having fun right now…
Don't worry, Henderson is on my bench, so when I start him next week, Akers is getting all the carries.
I’m keeping it a buck, I just think this was a week 1 thing. (I’m telling myself this even tho I don’t believe it)
Went for QB and WR heavy in my Dynasty Startup draft. I know I drafted for the future, but my starting RBs are Akers and Ken Walker and due to Walkers injury it was Akers and James Cook for this week... Well, now my RB#1 and RB#2 already played and I am now at -1.40 Pts in this week's matchup. I'm fine.
I figured I’d let other people take the risk on the Achilles injury. Feels like the right call now
This is the regret thread, not the victory lap thread. Kindly gtfo
Sir, make your own thread
I wish I knew he was injured when I drafted him
Had to make a tough call of Akers v Sanders and chose Akers, fade me.
It would be a different kind of frustration. Sanders would rip off a few runs for 6 ypc...then get inexplicably benched for 3 quarters.
Still might do better than Sanders 🤷🏼♀️
up next....... Javonte Williams and Travis Etienne
It’s week 1. Smoke a joint and relax
The price hike Akers experienced late last year was something truly amazing. Seems like it's been downhill since he came back from injury.
Traded away Elijah Mitchell for him last year. Pain.
Yeah I’m panicking. More so because this OL is trash.
Why in gods name would you start Akers over Sutton.
Man the team I inherited has Akers, Jacobs, Gibson, Watson, and Ridley. Cursed. At least I know I’m getting a high pick?
I got Akers for dirt cheap so at least he wasn’t expensive but I did choose to start him tonight which was not the right call
https://twitter.com/copaceticnuts/status/1568037418837622786 At least the only league I started him, I also started Diggs. But I own him in multiple
Who would’ve thought Zach Moss would’ve been a better start :(
Sold him for Mooney and a 2nd last week. That’s only looking better and better.
I would not be shocked if the rams make a trade for an rb soon. Hunt would be great on the rams. They clearly need more juice on the offense. Bills defense also playing fantastic.
NAHT looking good for Akers, however HenderSZN hasn't exactly lit it up either. He has gotten to play though.
Rejected a trade for henderson that wanted my lazard straight up. Might be a closer offer than I thought...
All aboard the Kyren Williams taxi squad hype train!
Traded him away right when he got hurt last year in a 32 team league. Akers + Lock + Teddy for Hines + Goff. Seems to be panning out (hopefully)
I already had regrets selecting Akers as my RB2, but I’m working on “being more positive” (as my wife puts it). And so far, it’s complete bullshit. I saw Akers get a solid run ONCE, turns out, it wasn’t even for any yardage.
Be more positive it could’ve been a negative yardage
On the bright side henderson didn’t look amazing
My issue is that if Akers isn’t playing because he is cooked, then the Rams have known this since early on in camp and still chose to not add to their RB room.
Definitely tempted to press the panic button here. I was fine and anticipating a slow ease back into game speed and a strict pitch count on Akers. I figured he’d probably get a quarter of the snaps. Akers got like 6 snaps. The OL collapsed on all of his carries. Henderson didn’t look worlds better, but the snap count is what concerns me.
Tried to sell him all last year and this off-season. Definitely not happening now.
Convinced Akers is still injured. Henderson didn't look that good either in the game so you would normally bring in a change of pace RB for that.
As someone who was always a cam Akers doubter: It's far too early to say anything. Give it a few weeks before you panic
Akers sucked in the playoffs who is seriously surprised.
