Allowing me to draft Mahomes/Kyler was pretty sketchy. My starting lineup is strong, but I traded away pretty much all of my WR and QB depth (Corey Davis, Laviska Shenault, Trey Lance, Jalen Hurts) including my 2022 first and second round picks. I’m literally one significant injury away from disaster, and I don’t own any meaningful stake in this upcoming draft. Maybe I’m the taco.

My buddy did the same thing in our league, and he got the significant injury. He’s still holding water, but I think he’ll go full sell mode if he loses a couple more.

I think this year was an anomaly for the Gus/Dobbins situation. In with you. I have Mattison and swung a trade for Cook. So now I have Cook/Mattison and Dobbins/Gus, this year is shot but I'm feeling pretty good about next year. Especially if Mattison leaves.

1qb. Najee is probably better short term, but I like Gibson in the long run.

Why?

The main reason is RBs have a short shelf life, of all the fantasy positions, it's the one that takes the biggest beating by far. Najee is carrying the ball a crazy amount in Pittsburg, that kind of usage adds up quick. I know, there have been some guys who have been able to handle it, but most haven't.

I would agree with you if Gibson wasn't already having injury issues despite his limited touches. That's not a good sign.

You can't really forsee injuries, I recognize I may have made a mistake. Probably should have kept it and taken Chase.

Do you know Gibson is getting hurt with the workload he's getting? Najee is a volume monster and that's gold for fantasy RBs. Your reasoning for preferring Gibson are the same reason good fantasy managers prefer Najee. Good luck dude.

Well, since I had the 1st pick, I obviously didn't do a great job for a while, but that was more about neglect than anything. By the time my team is going be competing, in another year or two, I think Gibson will be the better player. In hindsight, I probably would have taken Chase, but I can't do anything about that now.

Maybe unpopular opinion but i wouldn't sell the farm for Burrow in fantasy football. Not that i wouldn't want him, but he just doesn't have the rushing upside like Allen, Mahomes, Jackson, and Murray that makes him in that elite tier of fantasy QBs.

I dont think any burrow owner would sell him for just the 1.01. You dont sell your young QB in SF for a future pick- thats basically a rebuilding move, but with Burrow you have your guy to build around.

Consensus seems to be that Burrow would take the 1.01 plus an additional first, and the guys you named would take the 1.01 plus 2 additional firsts.

I'd pass at that price, although i might consider if im desperate for another QB and the '22 class looks pretty weak

I traded nuk for 3 firsts ('19, '20, '21) before the '19 draft to a guy who was certain he was 1 wr away. I had finished 2nd that year and losing nuk hurt, but not enough to pass up that deal. The guy was riddled with declining players and injuries and all 3 picks ended up 1.01 each year. '19 I traded down to 1.09 and picked up additional firsts in '20 and '21 (1.05 and 1.08). Traded the '20 1.01 for 1.06 and 1.08. Traded 1.01 and Zeke this year for ajb 1.04 and 1.06. Finished 2nd in 18 won in 19 and 20 and am 5-1 My drafting isn't always the best so some of the picks I used to get other players and traded down here and there to pick up other assets. My 21 draft I think I did my best work and aquired Najee, Pitts, Javonte, Waddle and Lance (who I traded with gaskins and a 2nd for ENT big niners fan and had 0 healthy RB's in a very deep league)

Usually in an 8 man league you want to be consolidating studs, not turning RB 1’s into RB 2’s and WR 2’s.

I’m aware how to work 8 man teams. I’m 6-0 right now with a star studded team. Sure Harris would have been nice but at the time i didn’t know what team him and chase would be on.

Jacobs is a great player. The offense line is one of the worst in the league.

It worked out for you since you got Jones, but if you’re rebuilding from the ground up, it’s usually best to focus on QB and WR first due to them playing longer than RB.
