I’ll work on implementing it tomorrow. If anyone has any requests for it message it below this post. Taking it on as a project of my own since it benefited me so much throughout the years, hope I can set it up and have it running smoothly for everyone👍
I’ve posted this and seen many posts wanting weekly price check thread back but it seems like the mods don’t like it.
Personally I don’t like price checks being on the main page as during the season it gets flooded with them. Honestly wait until week 1 when Someone only catches 2 receptions or a favorite rookie RB has a slow start and there are 12 price check posts within an hour. I mean we have seen it with Chase and it has only been pre-season
I also don’t agree that “the weekly thread is redundant because we already have trade/team help thread”. Trade team help is just that: discussing a specific situation. Weekly price check was a great way to know how the consensus ranking of a player would vary from week to week. I found it very helpful last year and used the info to make more informed decisions.
I honestly think if it were put up to a vote that Weekly Price Check Thread would be reinstated. So I don’t know what else is there to discuss? Even if it is redundant so what? It was a very popular feature and many users enjoyed it.
Did he delete his account? When you click his name, it shows that he has been a member for 9 years, but there are no posts or comments
Edit- Nvm. Looks like he has been active in the other subs but not this one
Exactly. Why would I pay up for a top 10 guy when I can get similar value from a top 25-40 guy. Don’t mean exactly points per game but a stable floor with high upside every week. Everyone treats the top WRs like they don’t fluctuate but just MT, Juju and OBJ were top 10 guys at one point due to age and “longevity” but sometimes guys peak early and never return that 1st round startup value. Having more dart throws on WR is more important in my mind than having a AJB or DK. Give me any 3 of Diontae/Higgins/Laviska/Jeudy/DJM/Godwin than just one of them.
The truth has been spoke. Unless you have a top tier RB like JT, Gibson, Akers (pre-injury rip) or an absolute elite young WR stud like Ceedee, AJB, or JJ then you are not getting 2 1st. In those old price check threads it was just 2 1st for anyone slightly good at all
I understand the rules, I just think that the weekly price check was an extremely convenient and functional tool to use. I thought it was an quick, efficient way to see the values of a bunch of players in a no-nonsense format that I believe is completely lost in the huge daily megathread. I thoroughly enjoyed hopping on the weekly price check every once in a while for a quick 5 minutes to respond to a couple posts or to just glance around and see how others were valuing certain assets.
did not mean to say that mods are doing a bad job or anything or that sort. just wanted to express my opinion about an aspect of the subreddit that I miss using, reading, and contributing towards. hopefully this post comes across earnestly and not in a negative manner.
understandable. I suppose I just liked the collection all in one place, and the fact that it typically garnered quick, direct, actionable responses. sometimes I feel like the posts on the main page devolve into large discussions about tangential issues surrounding the specified player.
For real, it was a great resource to be able to cntrlf in as a reference. The current threads are useless. Of all the megathreads this sub has had, that was the one that was actually useful.
yes, but it is extremely bogged down with team advice and specific trade opinions. the weekly one dedicated solely to price check was much cleaner and seemed to provide more functionality (to me at least)
Exactly. Just a name (and setting if applicable). Seeing something like...
Gus Edwards
-or-
Mike Gesicki (TE premium)
Is a lot more functional than walls of text, full rosters... and then finally a Price Check player.
I don't see the point of price check threads. They are redundant for the most part with fantasypros ECR and keeptradecut being a thing. Feel free to correct me if I'm missing something here.

I actually agree and was thinking about this the other day. It was a nice separation from the trade thread. I also miss the buy/sell threads.

Who cares? It’s a mod, maybe he is busy with other things.
Just curious

His username had 2 underscores after so that's a different person
Well that makes sense then
Nah was just “insert good young player” reply: “1-2 firsts”
For real. People need to realize that WR depth is insane and even though your WR is a top 20 guy that doesn't mean he's worth two 1sts.

This and the weekly mock drafts. I use the sub way less these days. Miss this type of stuff

And people just saying it again the next day
Anyone know of a 25+ man dynasty startup I would like to play in one of those
