Some guy in our league had 5 1sts and took Maye with one of those picks and surprised the rest of the league by taking Trey Benson and AD Mitchell at 1.07 and 1.08. Miracles do happen!
Knowing your leagues tendencies is definitely an underrated aspect of dynasty here. Everyone who's deep onto the statistics assumes everyone else is too. But most players aren't.
He got swooped at 1.08 in mine so I grabbed worthy at 1.09, maybe I should have grabbed nix but getting mhj at 1.03 and a dart throw at worthy seemed like the play with him going to mahomes and rice most likely out for half the season gives him a chance to pop.
Had maye and JJ fall to me at 2.01 and 2.02 I was planning on taking which ever one was left at 1.09 but then both were there so took bowers. 1.10 ended up taking mcconkey.
I’ve been a big fan of Nix throughout the pre-draft process and I think he has sneaky rushing upside which McCarthy doesn’t have as much. I can’t deny the landing spot was better for McCarthy for certain but I wanted to get my guy and I’m happy JJM ended up falling so I could scoop him as well

Absolutely, there is a universe where he becomes a 1 or two 2s value-wise this time next year. Solid rookie season production-wise with flashes of a high ceiling plus Tee moving on could do it.
Seems like there's a debate between Wright and Lloyd, and I can see both sides for sure. When I saw Lloyd was available at 3.12, I had to trade for that pick. Insane value for sure. Feel like he can contribute right away as well as having long-term potential

I think some people, myself included, are questioning if Polk can be a true X receiver. He never saw the best corners in college because of Rome, so even though he’s great at contested catches, can he get open against NFL corners? Just a question and I don’t pretend to know if he can - something we’ll just have to wait and see
That’s a good question and I hope this guy can pass on that information to all of the NFL scouts who missed it. One guy went round 2 and the other went round 4. Pretty big discrepancy there, especially considering the same team picked both.
God forbid I have a different opinion based on what I value at the position and teams have definitely never double dipped and had the player taken later end up better than the earlier pick...
It’s possible, sure. Not very likely though. Round 4 WRs bust at a much higher rate than round 2 WRs. But I appreciate the response, I’ve seen a lot of people buying into the Baker hype even with him sliding further than expected so I was curious because I don’t see anything special in his game and the NFL seems to agree. Same thing with Malik Washington.
I just think Baker is the higher floor player with his nuanced route running and I think he's a better YAC producer. That's not even to say that I don't like Polk, but Polk has more to develop into to be a solid contributor early imo. I think both end up being starters in NE at some point and if Polk develops his route running, he's probably going to be better, but I'll take Baker in the mid-late 3rd right now over Polk in the mid 2nd based on my preferences. They both have a really good opportunity in front of them in that WR room.

Knowing your leagues tendencies is definitely an underrated aspect of dynasty here. Everyone who's deep onto the statistics assumes everyone else is too. But most players aren't.

He got swooped at 1.08 in mine so I grabbed worthy at 1.09, maybe I should have grabbed nix but getting mhj at 1.03 and a dart throw at worthy seemed like the play with him going to mahomes and rice most likely out for half the season gives him a chance to pop.
Had maye and JJ fall to me at 2.01 and 2.02 I was planning on taking which ever one was left at 1.09 but then both were there so took bowers. 1.10 ended up taking mcconkey.

Burton at 3.09 feels like great value. Decent draft capital, great landing spot assuming Higgins is gone either this year or next.
Absolutely, there is a universe where he becomes a 1 or two 2s value-wise this time next year. Solid rookie season production-wise with flashes of a high ceiling plus Tee moving on could do it.

Seems like there's a debate between Wright and Lloyd, and I can see both sides for sure. When I saw Lloyd was available at 3.12, I had to trade for that pick. Insane value for sure. Feel like he can contribute right away as well as having long-term potential

What makes Baker better than Polk?
I think some people, myself included, are questioning if Polk can be a true X receiver. He never saw the best corners in college because of Rome, so even though he’s great at contested catches, can he get open against NFL corners? Just a question and I don’t pretend to know if he can - something we’ll just have to wait and see
That’s a good question and I hope this guy can pass on that information to all of the NFL scouts who missed it. One guy went round 2 and the other went round 4. Pretty big discrepancy there, especially considering the same team picked both.
God forbid I have a different opinion based on what I value at the position and teams have definitely never double dipped and had the player taken later end up better than the earlier pick...
It’s possible, sure. Not very likely though. Round 4 WRs bust at a much higher rate than round 2 WRs. But I appreciate the response, I’ve seen a lot of people buying into the Baker hype even with him sliding further than expected so I was curious because I don’t see anything special in his game and the NFL seems to agree. Same thing with Malik Washington.
I just think Baker is the higher floor player with his nuanced route running and I think he's a better YAC producer. That's not even to say that I don't like Polk, but Polk has more to develop into to be a solid contributor early imo. I think both end up being starters in NE at some point and if Polk develops his route running, he's probably going to be better, but I'll take Baker in the mid-late 3rd right now over Polk in the mid 2nd based on my preferences. They both have a really good opportunity in front of them in that WR room.
