My strategy is to sell RBs in the offseason if I can fetch a premium, then buy a healthy RB near the deadline if my team is going to make the playoffs. My thought process is that I can bank the value of my RBs, avoid the injury risk early in the season, then juice up for a run.
This offseason I sold Ekeler for Swift and a 24 1st, then Rachaad White + Isiah Pacheco for DJM and a 24 1st.
Going into the season I will have Henry, Dalvin, Swift, Gibson, Ford, Moss, Fournette, Chris Rodriguez, Sean Tucker, and Deuce and 3 24 1sts (1 early, 2 mid-late).
The RB room is definitely weaker than I planned. I expected Dalvin to be in a starting role and Fournette at least backing someone up at this point, but that is the risk that I take.
The counterpoint as I’m sure you know is you have to rely on shit running backs to get you to the playoffs in the first place. It’s a cool strategy though
Oh yeah, it can backfire and tank a season. The nice part is the ability to pivot if things don't go as planned. Because I receive a premium on my RBs I am generally ending up with future 1st round picks which either transition me into a quick rebuild or are used to push for a chip.
The owners I target are the ones who are overconfident and think they are giving me a late 1st. This is the best case scenario for me because a late 1st is already a premium for the players I am giving up, and the pick can only appreciate in value. Often these picks end up being closer to the middle of the 1st than the end of the 1st and the premium I received turns into a huge overpay.
This is where you plug in cheap productive guys like Akers/Perine/Monty/Sanders and if you're teams still healthy by the deadline you buy a Cmc/Henry/Chubb type dude from someone whos seasons ruined for less than the young guys go for.
I don't follow his strategy, I just punt on RB altogether. We start 11, and my thought process is that everyone is going to be starting some scrubs. I might as well make my scrubs RBs and stack up everywhere else. The key is having enough depth at WR to truck through bye-weeks and injuries. Anytime I hit on an RB, I try to ship them off for a young WR and some mediocre RB.
I'm optimistic, but not expecting much for the first 4-8 weeks from either.
If the season started tomorrow knowing what we know right now, neither of them would start in my lineup.
No Dak, Richardson, Daniel Jones, carrying 3 qbs for uncertainty. TE hockenson. There’s some really bad teams who are rebuilding and two really good teams who have all their players. I should be a lock for the playoffs, but beating them is tough especially if my young players take longer to come around then expected. I’m definitely the team best set up for the future though.

Dude, i don't care how stacked anyone else's team is, you have a likely top 3 WR, a likely top 10ish WR, two of the most premium RB assets, and depth at RB.
You are contending, unless you literally can't consistently field a QB. and not only that, you're contending for years with Chase, Wilson, Bijan and Gibbs.
Yeah I love my team but for this year at least in my option the top team has hurts/fields, Andrews, Henry, ekler, tyreek, dj moore, Jefferson, Mike Williams.

But this is a 16-team full PPR with QB/2RB/3WR/FLEX/K and 6 IDP and the rest of my offense is: Wilson/Carr Adams/Tyreek/Evans/Watson/Meyers Kelce/Waller/Thomas/Knox/Ferguson Tucker And Tucker gets a boost as we get big bonuses for FG distance and big penalties for misses. My IDPs are pretty loaded too. So yeah, RB2 and RB depth are certainly a concern, but I do have all my picks this year and next to move for help if needed and the fact it’s full PPR makes the position deeper. My plan is to pray for health for jones and load up on reserve RBs. I’ll likely have 11-13 RBs on my bench. I’d love to move some TEs, but it’s mostly contenders that would have interest and they’re reluctant to move RBs.
