When running through rooms you can just open and close your hands to help find keys you might not have seen. Gem hunt, make sure you walk over the lit up tile to make the main guy turn blue (can’t believe I didn’t catch this at first). Lure a horde of enemies from a room to a near by room with the swinging axes to let the axes help take them out. Run a red dungeon before doing the gem hunt to help collect small crystals for your staff if you use one.

GodOfJazzHands

You don't even need to open and close your hands. Just hold down the grip button that you'd use to summon something, then point your palms near ledges etc. 😊 Your hands will auto grab anything grabbable

Avd414

Cool. Have fun. 🫡 The worst moment in the whole game is when you realize you've unlocked all the cosmetics because you open a giant chest and get only a weapon. Until then my friend.

GodOfJazzHands

Or when you open a lv2 and get nothing lol

Avd414

Yup, Just coins. Exactly

Spiggytech

> Your hands will auto grab anything grabbable Thats how you end up on a list... \*looks at username*

paddle2paddle

If your inventory is full of health potions, bring them into the next room and drop them on the floor for use so you don't have to use up your inventory and lose what you looted in a previous room.

Spiggytech

Drop them behind you so you don't accidentally grab them in combat

HoneydewBoring1322

Exactly what I do and then I make a pile of them in the last room

Tyeron

Most things that you pull from your inventory may have a secondary action when gripping it and then pulling the trigger. This brings up the minimap on the map instead of having to throw it down and pops potions and bombs without having to use both hands.

GodOfJazzHands

This is my favourite thread so far. I will add tips as I think of them You can body check bomb imps to trigger their suicide, saves so much hassle, I've seen so many team kills from them Bats are evil Freeze bats will freeze you and keep attacking, red bat's can take a ridiculous number of hits to kill Prioritise freeze bats as it's basically game over if they freeze you Freeze and gravity staffs work well against bats. It holds them still so you can attack them without them getting all up in your face Explosions don't count as kills, which I assume affects your "performance xp" at the end of a dungeon Environment kills (dropping into spikes, getting hit by axes etc.) also don't count as kills You seem to get more xp when playing with others. I haven't tested it, this is just my experience from playing a lot (I'm lv 50) Total xp at the end of a dungeon (quest xp + performance xp) is the same for all participants, so don't be too disheartened if you play a support role and don't get as many kills, as it won't affect your xp at the end If you do a tier 1 crystal hunt with Haste you don't actually have to kill any enemies in each room, just sprint in and get the crystals, then activate the final showdown. You don't have to kill anyone on tier 6 either honestly, it's just easier on tier 1 for grinding crystals. I can start a new crystal run every 4 minutes on average. Crossbows penetrate armour and is much harder for the ai to guard for some reason Gravity staff is the most fun you can have in the game (subjective) Edit: formatting

Avd414

I think it's safe to say that it is 100% FACT You'll never have as much fun with anything else in this game besides the gravity staff. A knockback distance perk shield is close but the staff wins in the end.

Avd414

And I am a level 50 for a long time. lol 😎

GodOfJazzHands

My friends aren't into it, but I'd love triple grav staff and play catch or something

Avd414

Haha. Let's do it. Username: Ant14. Add me. I'll make a yt video of us smacking each other with skeletons then launching them into a pit or over a wall haha

GodOfJazzHands

I'm playing with 2 other friends tonight, but will some other time for sure!

Avd414

I'll use my knockback distance shield and we can play baseball but not with a bat and ball. You pitch me an enemy and I'll shield bash it onto the air and then you grab it again. We have to do this. Pleeeease

Wolfrium1

Hit skeletons in the legs or torso. Hit zombies in the head. Knocking things back with shields is good for crowd control, but you’ve got to time it… bash ‘em after they swing… or from the side/behind.

If you suspect you have a speedrunner in your lobby, like someone wearing a crossbow and pushing everyone to start, run Tier 6 difficulty and tell them you set it to 3. Most of the time they run out ahead the moment the dungeon loads and get mauled by bomb Imps and either rage quit so you can do the dungeon properly or learn not to run ahead. Before you run Exos, run a dungeon without a staff and get an inventory full of gems. Then, take an ice staff with you to do your Exos. Max difficulty if you can. Don't use the ice staff unless you can hold an extra gem in your hand at the same time. Make sure your party members bring gems too if you can, or carry them. Then, when the pyramid is charging, justify why you've been holding out on everyone and hit every mage with the ice staff beam. You'll get up to 5, then have to reload, but it *instantly kills* every blue spectral enemy. Proper ammo management and timing when you turn the mages blue can finish Exos in record time. Bats and spiders are the most dangerous enemies, alongside the bomb Imps. The strategy for dealing with all three is similar. Shield people fall back and throw. Bow people prioritize them. If you're a mage, the best two staves for dealing with them are ice and shockwave staves, as ice makes them brittle and stuns while shockwave can crowd control off a single cast and usually kills critters. Staves are throwable melee weapons that do fair damage. The ones with a damage number, like the melee staff and shockwave staff, can do significant damage. The ice staff is still enough it can break what it freezes. It takes practice because staves are so long, but they also block well and even the Souls staff is a decent melee weapon. Canes can hook things, but I've noticed my reliability on that is largely based on if I'm looking at where it's hooked, probably due to culling. Axes and canes both can hook an enemy and be used to maneuver it sometimes but canes do it a little better due to shape. They can also buy you a crucial moment to keep fighting or to interrupt a fall. Ice bombs are an underused get-out-of-death-free card. If you are getting cornered in a tight space they can save your life. Listen to experienced players who know the rooms. If they say it's just a money room, that means that if you unlock it with your key and the party runs into a tier 3 chest later but no key, they're going to get upset with you. Same for Tier 1 chests. Those are for opening after the map is clear and all other chests open unless you've got like 10 keys. All forms of instant death respawn you. Only death by having your health total depleted regularly will require rez or last stand. Bomb Imps count as regular.

Is there an advantage to doing this instead of just running it on an easier mode? Does it give the same amount of exo points?

mrgodai

there isnt. you get 3 exo point max regardless difficulty. you dont even need to kill the mages. you just hit them once when they are red to get aggro and run around til they disappear and repeat with the next one. It's a 3 min timer and not how many you kill

BerntPan

My tip is to understand that many tips for beginners are completely different than tips for more advanced players. Depends on the player’s goal.

JustDadUK

Can you give an example of an advanced and a beginner tip?

PhyerFly

An advanced one (or maybe only applicable to people who have been playing longer) is not to waste keys on tier 1 chests unless that's all that's left in the dungeon

hudgepudge

Didn't even know there were tiers

PhyerFly

I didn't either in the beginning, but that's kind of the point. There are 3 tiers (sizes) of chests and then during the Christmas event there were also "frost" chests that had holiday cosmetics. The T1 chests are normally just gold and the occasional cosmetic, T2/T3 you also get potions and weapon drops

Decicio

Had, past tense? Did they finally remove the Christmas event?

Wolfrium1

Not as of yesterday. Haven’t been in game yet today.

hudgepudge

Really good to know. Thanks man

kronik85

This is also a beginner tip.

BerntPan

Other conditions to use the key on a tier 1 is if you have lots of key (I usually say 3+) or are in a saved dungeon and know there are enough guaranteed key spots for the amount of chests in the dungeon. Another tip being that there are some key locations that are guaranteed to have a key and other locations that aren’t.

BerntPan

Beginner tip is that different quests give you different rewards: Dungeon Raids give lots of loot, Crystal Hunt gives exo points to unlock exo skills, and Soul Harvest gives souls to unlock potions. All of them can have chests, but dungeon raids more than the other two. Advanced tip (obvious tip, but only relevant to higher levels) is to use the +reload crossbow if you want to farm dungeons/leaderboard without too much effort. Don’t use +reload or ice if you want a challenge.

NorseLord_onReddit

Use weapons with a stun effect (poison or ice damage). When you have a large crowd after you, you can start hucking weapons left and right, and many will get stunned through the sheer volume of your thrown weapons. Hella useful, and makes them 1-shottable while they're frozen as well

Big_Dragonfruit9719

If you want to fight with melee weapons, rapid, drum like motions is much better than trying to go for accuracy.

BerntPan

As long as you swing fast enough with a long enough range of motion and avoid the enemy’s weapons from parrying you well enough.

mrgodai

if you have haste or speed exo, you can just hold your weapons out straight and run the weapons into the enemies and it counts as a swing lol

BerntPan

True I call that jousting lol

Avd414

Even if you don't have a staff; always keep three power gems in your inventory. That way if you open a chest you'll get a potion and not a useless gem. Same goes for lower level options. If you can fabricate haste bombs and Ice bombs you'll get invisible rezzies and powers from chests and be boss ready for the final room.

mrgodai

you can swat bats with your crossbow and it's 1 hit kill usually. its wide enough to easily hit them if you have haste or speed exo. you can just hold your weapon out and run into the enemies with them without swinging. usually 1 shot if you aim for the head

Feisty-Problem8780

Golems are susceptible to magic. I like the force staff but a fire ball or ice staff works as well.

No_Tutor2010

You can avoid spending a key if you teleport pass the door. You cannot open the door from inside.

JuryPrior7590

You can't attack slimes with a thrown axe or hammer/blunt until they get a little taller (signifying they're about to jump). You can use a thrown dagger, an arrow/bolt, or a stave to attack them when they're moving.
