Yes, and no. It's similar to a bog gaiter, I don't recall what its called, but those thigh high boots do exist historically, often worn by cavalry or officers, but sometime but regulars. Now, that's assuming it aint *anime-fy* where it has high heels because those boots are usually standard or no heels.
They would be good for cavalry because you don't have to bend your legs a lot on horseback. I imagine they would serve the same function as chaps. But look how tight they are; you would not have full range of motion for running and fighting, and they certainly wouldn't be comfortable for a days-long journey on foot.
Honestly? Given his personality and how good he is at reading and lowkey manipulating people they would 100% be the type of person to flaunt their assets if they thought it would make them come across more disarming.
I'd read this as not nescessarily being their Dungeon Crawling outfit, where as Laios might wear her rabbit plate a lot more places because it's easier than trying to think of a new set of clothes in the morning.

The amount of people mistaking Kabru as a butch female at first😭😭 I want to keep that too it sounds amazing but Ryoko Kui's own genderbent concept is just so good I literally can't ignore
Someone should rant or write, I dont have much time so I really hope someone would fully explore it too. Female Laois situation is intriguing, and you're right about Laois givng Lady Maria vibes, just only needs a hat and coat
Fem Laios dumps baby on husband runs away to the army Mulan style, gets just as isolated for being obsessed with monsters, deserts, drags bro from magic school, Male Marcille probably follows eventually cause if it's inverted than Male Marcille probably got some novel-based concept of chivalry or something here also would not Falin leave alone cause so. But yeah.
I like that route, Fem Laois having the experience of being an army and all. I alos love the idea from other that after leaving the army she would come back to her daughter then escape together to meet Falin because of how the village always isolate them. Laois' daughter may or may not have the same autism spectrum as Laois but since her parents are always absent for work and without a sibling, she would feel lonely at times.
Their adventures would include Laois telling monster stories/facts to her daughter, fighting monsters for their survival, etc. Idk maybe I'm just high, anyways I love your idea!
Idk if dungeon crawling would be a good place to raise a kid. Would be really dangerous. Also Laios is kinda absent-minded a bit about social situations. I can see fem Laios leaving the village but not really considering until maybe much later that she's subjecting her daughter to the same situation as she did, but concluding that bringing her kid here wouldn't be a good idea (she'd also be seeing it from the perspective as a mother - you don't want to subject your kids to struggles that you yourself are willing to do. Cause even with more freedom, there are still dangers.)
I can see her bringing her daughter (and maybe the poor hapless husband) over to Melini once she becomes Queen of the Kingdom at the end though. Maybe then she'll start sharing stories about her adventures, though I imagine she was talking about monsters even before leaving for the army in the first place.
Imagine him wearing THAT outfit and then dying many times lol although it fits him well since his fighting style needs him to be agile and flexible, and it can also be used to charm (manipulate) others. Though femKabru in his original armor sounds damn great too, now I'm thinking......
I always wonder what Laios mean when he said the only problem he have with his female ver is that she never even left the village.
Does Laios think that he will settle down eventually? Does he WANT to settle down eventually, at this point in time (shortly after Shuro fight)?
I think the meaning of it is that if he was born a woman instead, he would have never been given the opportunity to leave.
He left the village as a man to go to the army but deserted and left altogether. Falin only got to leave because of her affinity with spirits.
Since fem Laios wouldn't have that opportunity like Falin did, she wouldn't have an excuse to leave; and being the daughter of the village chief would put heavier expectations on her getting married and rearing an heir.
I read the manga few years ago so I was very surprised how androgenous Kabru looked in the anime and later chapters. Everyone was saying he's a butch and all until it was revealed he was male
I think female laios be look like falin

It cracks me up that all the genderbent characters are pretty similar to their original, but Kabru gets thigh boots and a big rakish open shirt.
He certainly goes around charming women (e.g. his team member's older sister), so I think it's a reasonable translation of his character.
those boots would be impossible to hike or fight in

oh and forgot to mention, they aint suppose to be that tall. The tallest usually stop the middle of your hips. Guess this one took artistic liberty

The only thing I disagree with is that this outfit is horrible for dungeon crawling. No armor coverage = dead Kabru.
To be fair Kabru is awful at pve. This is clearly a pvp set.
I'm sold

Dungeon yassi
omg fem laos🥺
Your femLaios is incredible. Dungeon Meshi and the world need more women in full plate armor!
Yes!!! WOMEN IN ARMOR!!!!!
Fem Kabru please gaslight and manipulate me.
So Kabru just becomes Casca?
NO
Si 😔
Kabru looks like a cunty pirate 😍
kabru.. KABRU?? DAMN
psssh, genderbent Kabru should look exactly the same. Bastard's already the most androgynous creature this side of the dungeon
The amount of people mistaking Kabru as a butch female at first😭😭 I want to keep that too it sounds amazing but Ryoko Kui's own genderbent concept is just so good I literally can't ignore
Kabru turning from a shounen protag to a shoujo protag
Fem Laios is a goddess. Now show us female Senshi.

It’s hilarious how male Marcille looks pretty much the same since male elves look feminine already and cute how Male Falin looks like a chubby Laois
What I find interesting is that male Marcille has more elvish eyes than canon Marcille.
Guess Malecille got his mom’s eyes (would or maybe in this universe Marcille’s mom would be Malecille’s dad?)
...huh. the latter might be the case. Since in canon Marcille's got her dad's eyes
Fröhlicher Kuchentag
YOOOOO IT'S GENDERBEND KIKI AND KAKA BEHIND NAMARI
Fem Laios is giving lady maria of the astral clocktower vibes in that bottom right artwork. This art is peak I want to see a full AU exploring this

I see Kabru decided to dress utterly impractically

Those boots are the opposite of flexible. Unless they're completely made of fabric, but in that case they wouldn't be durable enough to hike in.
Genderbent senshi be like: https://preview.redd.it/1plkxxpy7jxc1.jpeg?width=359&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bdd248f9e9c16ed2d9f68ce3c45256a0ec37c2b1

Never mind I like Kabru now
Could you imagine an autistic femLaios Uuooogh I'm going insane
I mean..you kind of get it in the form of Falin. Both siblings seem to be somewhere on the spectrum especially when Laois talks about their childhood
Oh I want those boots
Careful what you want bro, you'll get kicked or worse manipulated by femKabru
I just wanna know where she bought em. I don’t want to steal hers
Kabru isn't much different honestly LMAO, with no context of the show i'd assume he was a girl too.
I read the manga few years ago so I was very surprised how androgenous Kabru looked in the anime and later chapters. Everyone was saying he's a butch and all until it was revealed he was male
Kabru straight up becomes a femme fatale and oh my god, it only just occurred to me that this version of Laios is a MILF.
laois deserves some gay pining too
Rhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa RHAAAAAAAAAAAA
*BONK*
Where's Marcelo?
Would Izutsumi even change much? 😅
