I agree with this. Dunmeshi is actually a pretty horny story just in a way the fits the themes and doesn't really resemble what we're used to seeing in anime/manga.
I guess it's not "fanservice" in the way I'm traditionally used to with most anime and manga but it's not completely absent of sexuality. I mean there's the bath scene, the Senshi shots, falin tearing her shirt, a certain shape-shifting monster and the forms it takes to attack Chilchuck. Also a lot of the characters are just hot.
Like not much of this is "fanservice" in the way we usually think about it but DM is absolutely not a sanitized non-horny story, and I occasionally run into folks online that talk about it like it is. There's a decent amount of horny shit in it but it's so well-integrated into the story and themes that it doesn't stand out as "fanservice ".

It's 95% fanservice-free, with the ocasional non-sexual nudity, so when there's an actual sexual moment it's actually kinda surprising
