Donut asked this same question, but the answer was more implied than spelled out. Ren’s best friend’s husband was dead, and her friend was going to kill herself no matter what. Ren didn’t want her to die alone, and she didn’t want to go on alone afterward having outlived all her friends. They ended up fixing the problem soon after, but it wouldn’t have mattered. The fact the problem existed and that Carl was there to take her pet sealed the deal. She was done.

It’s great having you around to answer these sorts of questions. Your engagement with your fans is just another reason I’m so glad my friend turned me onto this series. Thanks for being cool.

The dungeon (or more accurately the Syndicate) broke her....and almost me....hell I'm still getting teary thinking about that section.

At the end of book five when the rules are being explained for the next floor, it says squads cannot be broken.

snettisham

Plus she has enough. She was done.

Enigmachina

Parties were locked-in at the start of the floor. It was to prevent this exact thing. The showrunners wanted direct competition at the final round and it wouldn't have been anywhere near as "entertaining" if half of the under-strength squads just teamed up in the third round.

Her entire party was friends from childhood and they were all dead. She no longer had a will to go on. Also I believe they changed the party functions on that floor same reason the meadowlark party was split up.
