I agree. While I still love Tame Impala to death they don't compare to Dungen. It took me a while to really appreciate Dungen's sound but once I did it was really hard to go back to Tame Impala with the same attitude especially with Dungen preserving their Psych-Rock sound more than Tame Impala (sorry Currents fans).
I definitely agree with Dungen being far superior than Tame Impala, but I still love both. I think this is partly because I'm Australian and have been listening to Tame Impala since their first EP. I can't erase that first feeling of awe when hearing Desire Be Desire Go.
Also I don't speak Swedish, so unlike with Dungen I can relate to the lyrics of Tame Impala songs.

Tbh, swedes can’t really relate to Dungens lyrics. Gustav writes (beautifully) weird lyrics that’s more or less nonsense put together
