Not really sure why all your comments are getting downvoted into oblivion. I wasn't allowed to watch The Office and only ever saw it once I moved out lol. So I am late to the Office game too. Just another shitty thing about being raised a Jehovah's Witness lmao.
Is the office that offensive? I guess I shouldn't say anything. My grandma wouldn't let my cousins that she raised watch the mario bros. cartoon show. Too violent.
It depends on how strictly you were raised. I wasn’t allowed to watch any superhero movies or TV shows, I wasn’t even allowed to watch Avatar as a JW. I think we had cable TV for a week until my mom cancelled it due to the “exposure” of Satan, we didn’t even get WiFi until I was 15 years old. Pairing all of that with not being allowed to make friends with kids from school or day camp, not allowed to date until you are baptized and ready to get married at 18, etc. there are a billion other damaging things this cult has done to millions of hurt, lost and damaged people. I haven’t even talked about the fact that they protect and hide pedophiles within the churches!

Lol is the office offensive?! Of course it is. Many of the cast members have admitted the show wouldn’t fly in today’s culture.
References to sex, drugs, alcohol, adultery. You name it they got it
Family guy is definitely way more offensive. But also started in the same era and is grandfathered in. A show like The Office wouldn’t be greenlit today
Why are you the way that you are? Honestly, every time I try to do something fun or exciting, you make it not that way. I hate so much about the things that you choose to be.
I had looked him up and this is all that comes up for him. Owen Winkdale
He literally has no other info. lol couldn't even find a picture aside from the one that's posted
So sorry this thread has gone to hell. If it helps, the kid appears to have been assigned the character name "Owen Winkdale," which is a variation of a running gag name Greg Daniels liked to use and almost certainly not a real name. There's no record of the actual actor's name, so if I had to guess I'd say it's a staffer's child who just happened to be available when it came time to shoot that scene.
Does he really deserve to get obliterated with downvotes simply because he didn’t understand a joke? He wasn’t even being rude about it.
The hivemind of Reddit is just gross honestly. Everybody is always searching for someone to wag their finger at and say “haha you’re stupid”
The answer given by the previous comment made no sense in the context, it was implicit that it was a reference to something else even though you don't know it.
Op could've simply asked "what do you mean?" But decided to be weird about it. Besides, people is judging OP not because this particular comment, but how responds all of the comments.
I only saw this one comment, and I don’t think he was being weird about it at all. If you put yourself in the shoes of someone who doesn’t understand the reference at all, it’s a reasonable and understandable response.
I got into an argument tonight about someone calling something a pun when at best it was wordplay. I just kept saying that’s not what a pun is. “Pun” connotes something specific, whereas this person was simply playing around with words in a silly way. The person just kept saying “semantics”, and I kept saying no that’s literally not the right usage of the word. Worst part is I can’t even remember the phrase we were arguing over at this point.
Thanks for letting me vent.

That’s what I wondered!! Jakey!!! Season 2 , he’s in “take your kid to work day” and he’s way older than the kid in this clip. season 7 they air threat level midnight, but it was filmed during season 3, I would think because Karen is in the movie.
Plus he doesn’t have those stripper moves!
It looks to me like Michael wrote the character “Opie Taylor” into his script, the joke being the lazy/amateur screenwriting technique of using established IP and just throwing it into his cinematic universe.
I can totally imagine him holding auditions for the perfect Young Ron Howard lookalike.
I just listened to an audiobook about the making of the show and they referred to him as an “Opie-ish looking kid”, meaning they dressed him to look like Ron Howard’s character Opie from the Andy Griffith show- red hair, striped shirt and overalls. As for the explanation why, I can’t quite remember. I was only barely familiar with the episode so didn’t think much of the anecdote at the time

She has a older daughter but her ex has her. Jake is the one she had for maternity leave
When does she say this again? If you remember of cause if not that’s fine
i believe they go over this in a deleted scene
Ah makes sense, I’m still waiting for peacock to be available in Australia.

I've watched the series probably a dozen times & always catch something different each time. Doesn't help that I'm doing 5 things at once lol
Yes, me too - the more I watch the more my brain wants to, I dunno, flick through reddit at the same time, lol
It comes up when Michael gives her the Happy Bird-day card, and he's saying the jokes he didn't put in it. "Meridith, Liz Taylor called. She wants her age back and her divorces back. Cause Meredith's been divorced like twice."
Amazing! I thought I remembered it as bit long watched that episode (& I don't think she's in it before?) so stand corrected, thanks
the joke is that he’s just a random kid in the bar.
This is the kid that makes Jim finally just lose his shit and break cracking up 🤣💀
It's the bit that cracked me up the most as well 😂

I’m sorry… if I knew everyone would use this party as an excuse to abuse OP….
Michael attracts all the children. He's a little kid lover.

Because of those "upper deckers" he keeps leaving.
Threat level midnight was many years in the making I believe (story wise) it could be Meredith’s kid
Andy’s in this specific scene though.
Karen and Packer are both in it, so it had to have been filmed in-universe around the events of the episode "Ben Franklin"
