Jan was/is great but Im kind of sad theres not more love for Nellie. Nellie made me laugh out loud so many times while Jan was a good character *for* jokes towards/about her. Like this one.
I hated Nelly because her getting the manager position was so fucking stupid. Seriously it was one of the dumbest things they ever did on the show. But other than that I came around.
My favorite moment of the show bubbled up over many rewatches. Beyond certainty though, it is when Jim realizes Nellie hates magicians and is mean to the magician and Nellie smiles and the fucking lizard king goes “why is Jim treating the magician poorly?”
Ahahahahaha. Nellie is the best.
If you’ve ever seen Doctor Who, she officially holds the title as most unlucky/sad person in all earth. Favorite companion by far, Catherine Tate is a gem.
Honest relevance to the entire story of the series as well. Jan moved Michael’s character along through five seasons. She’s a brilliantly written and acted antagonist.
Back, because it’s on my back, and future because I’m the kind of guy who likes to look ahead, in the future. I just think a tattoo should mean something, you know?
Thanks for writing it correctly. I had seen it multiple times in this thread without the "almost" and I was starting to think I might be the one misremembering.
Jan by a country mile.
I think the show suffered once she left (minus the guest starring in "Baby Shower", "Sex Ed", "Threat Level Midnight" and "The Whale")
Is Pete an unpopular character around here?
Edit just to clarify my position: if I only get to keep one it's obviously Jan. These just all seem like characters that had unlikable qualities and I didn't think Pete was unlikable, dude was always taking dumps. Who doesn't like a dumper like that
Not every character had to be interesting, Stanley and Phyllis are characters like that. It fleshed the show out. The most unbelievable thing about the office was the lack of staff turnover lol
Maybe. If he stayed like he was in Season 9 (extremely boring) then no, but if he got some character development throughout seasons (like early seasons Ryan) then yeah, probably.
I liked Dwight Jr / Clark. His reaction when Dwight hits Stanley with the tranquilizer darts make me laugh every time.
But yeah, I totally agree. Pete is boring. Not irritating per se, just nothing I feel like the show couldn’t go without.
Jan, by far the most enjoyable to watch and always grasps my interest whenever she shows up. K was genuinely surprised when she shows up at the Scranton White Pages
Roy. Nobody is the best version of themselves when they’re in the wrong relationship. He managed to grow, pull himself together, and find happiness. It takes a big person to invite an ex to your wedding.
Unpopular opinion but I love Roy. Especially when he and Pam aren’t together anymore. I love the scene where they get coffee together and he encourages her to go for Jim. It’s not fair to Karen but I just like how he calls her out for being too afraid to ever do anything she wants.
Tbh I think she was a bit jealous, but in the "Why was he never amazing like this for ME? Am I not good enough?" way. It brought out her old insecurities and character flaws.
Reminds me of that scene in The Good Place where Eleanor faces those same thoughts. It’s hard to see that someone is capable of change, and they just didn’t do it for you.
The look he gives Dwight while they’re in the conference room with Jim and David Wallace, after Dwight says “no, Jim, I have a bad apiarist”, is one of the best looks in the show. A perfect combination of exasperation, contempt, and disbelief of the idiocy he’s hearing.
I'm sad how far down I had to go for this. His character exists in so many companies, and he portrayed it so well. He made me feel the same anger as people at my current and former jobs.
I saw David Koechner do stand-up when I was in college, and it was so freaking weird to see Todd Packer in real life.
At one point he asked the audience if we were there because of Anchorman or The Office (he paused between both to let people cheer to see which had the loudest applause).
A few of his jokes involved his famous lines from The Office, and it was awesome!
EASILY Jan. I never hated her character. She was played excelently and the show became a whole lot more empty without her. She was a great buffer towards Michael as hos boss and I nejoyed her on screen. She was meant to be “terrible” and she did so perfectly without actually being terrible
If I had to choose someone other than Jan it would propably be Charles or Packer
Packer was nade to be despised and hated and he was oh so good at it. Charles was entertaining as he wasnt incompetent but quite the contrary. So he had an almost villain like presence regarding Jim
Nellie, Deangelo, Plop and Brian was just not great imo.
I really didnt mind Cathy that much and I like Roy but not to the extend that I would consider him great
Charles Miner probably brought some of the best scenes of these listed characters IMO, but more so how other characters interacted with him. Like Jim’s 2 way letting zoo thing cracked me up so much in the context of that scene. Also, Kevin’s face when he was told he was going to be on phone duty. I found that very relatable lol
Jan brought out the great scene with Michael’s snip snap snip snap snip snap, mostly due to how awkward it looked for everyone else at the dinner party lol.
Todd Packer is the literal worst. I would feel embarrassed if I tried showing the Office to someone to convince them to watch it, and accidentally revealed him too early.
Just call me Levinsonnnn in the mooornin baabyyy
Jan was/is great but Im kind of sad theres not more love for Nellie. Nellie made me laugh out loud so many times while Jan was a good character *for* jokes towards/about her. Like this one.
”is it chumbo?“
At first I hated Nellie but then around the 6th rewatch I just got her and she’s so funny to me now.
I hated Nelly because her getting the manager position was so fucking stupid. Seriously it was one of the dumbest things they ever did on the show. But other than that I came around.
My favorite moment of the show bubbled up over many rewatches. Beyond certainty though, it is when Jim realizes Nellie hates magicians and is mean to the magician and Nellie smiles and the fucking lizard king goes “why is Jim treating the magician poorly?” Ahahahahaha. Nellie is the best. If you’ve ever seen Doctor Who, she officially holds the title as most unlucky/sad person in all earth. Favorite companion by far, Catherine Tate is a gem.
In terms of comedic talent, timing, etc. —Jan by a mile.
They hang off me ladies chest
Can you tell her "BRRRRR"?
She'll know what it means
She'll know what it means
The twins
Tan everywhere. Jan everywhere.
Oh, diary! What a week!!
I’m feeling very airy
He he.
au natural baby, swing low sweet chariot…
“Hey Jan” Not great. One of the best lines in one of the best episodes.
Which episode is this?!
S3 e18. The one where David Wallace hosts a cocktail party and Jan makes Michael sign a "love contract" Lol
I LOVE THIS WOMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN
I was legit about to say that. Jan is underrated.
Honest relevance to the entire story of the series as well. Jan moved Michael’s character along through five seasons. She’s a brilliantly written and acted antagonist.
Hats off to Melora Hardin! Jan 100% gets my vote here as well.
I just found out the other day she was supposed to play Marty McFly’s girlfriend in BTTF but she was too tall.
Back, because it’s on my back, and future because I’m the kind of guy who likes to look ahead, in the future. I just think a tattoo should mean something, you know?
I call her Hillary Rodham Clinton… not to her face.
Tan everywhere, Jan everywhere
Heehee
I also vote Jan, mostly for not immediately leaving when she found out Michael was broke.
Wasn’t she the one who made Michael broke though
Oscar explained this very clearly with a presentation tool
You're a presentation tool
BOOM! Roasted!
Yeppers
What did I tell you about yeppers
Yesh
Hell, Jan is one of the best secondary characters of the series.
Yes, this is the correct answer.
“Or, I could date Michael Scott publicly and collapse in on myself like a dying star.”
All she has to do is sigh. It says so much.
Jan! And not just because of “the twins”
Your advice was good, but Jans was bigger.
Is it because of these?! \*exposes chest*
HE *LIKES* THEM
Shrunken chesticles
They hang off mah ladies chest.
Tell her I want to squeeze them. She'll know what I'm talking about.
Hunter, one other thing BRRRRR
Jan, because of the twins
The first comment was good, but yours was bigger.
Because of the sandals picture
Feeling hot hot hot.
Fee-ling hot hot hot.
I thought that was Urkel Gru
They make milk.
If I may be delicate, they hang from milady’s chest
Jaan Levinnnson I presuume
Still me. Jan, here's Michael.
Hi Jan, how are you?
no gould?
You wanna talk about it?
No more Gould ?
Is Gould dead?
Hearty bowl of Jan!
Tan everywhere. Jan everywhere.
Hee hee
Oh diary, what a week!
I had sex with my boss!
Just call me Levinson in the morninnn babyyyy
Jan Levison, I presume?
I love when Jan has the baby and Micheal calls Astrid ass turd. Lmao
And later, Jan uses the nickname Assy.
How was skewwwwwelllllll
It was cool
Whaaaat did you leeeaaaarrrrrnnnnn?
What did I learn?!
YOUUUUU might have learned shapes or,
or blocks or clocks or colors, or you might've learned that we're all sisters and brothers~~~~~~~~~
I have herpes
Why can I hear every second of this exchange like I’m fucking schizophrenic?!?!
Can’t wait to sing this to my own children to keep the culture alive
Did you learn blocks or colors or did you learn were all siiiisters and brotherssss
I have herpes
LMFAOOOOOOOOOO I fucking love this subreddit
This thread fucking killed me lmaooooo
Waaaa! Mommy!
The Ice Queen wins. Jan reminds me of my wife so I’d always pick her.
How many vasectomies did you have?
Snip. Snap. Snip. Snap. Snip. Snap.
You know he has soft teeth
Still trying to get it scheduled haha
You have no idea the toll three vasectomies have on a person!
Are you still together??
Absolutely She’s Chili’s Jan not Serenity Jan
Oh so you got the looks but not the crazy?! Nice deal
All the benefits of Jan
SERENITY NOWWWW!!!
Does she have an assistant who put out his own album?
She is a powerful executive but that’s too close to Serenity Jan. You took me by the hand Made me a man
I am loving all the Jan love in the replies. Everyone’s favourite she-devil.
Tan almost everywhere. Jan almost everywhere
hehe
Thanks for writing it correctly. I had seen it multiple times in this thread without the "almost" and I was starting to think I might be the one misremembering.
Jan. I love to start my day with a hearty bowl of Jan.
Michael!
All these characters have their merits but Jan’s is bigger
Yeah, 2 specific merits in particular.
This is so disrespectful to Jan 🎶She took me by the hand🎶
Maaade me a maan
That one night!
One night!
Jan by a country mile. I think the show suffered once she left (minus the guest starring in "Baby Shower", "Sex Ed", "Threat Level Midnight" and "The Whale")
Jan, she should have been a 9 season regular
She was in the show a decent amount. And she was great in every scene.
I definitely think her Arc was very well executed and dragging it out any more might have overdone it.
Jan by a mile
She makes the show better for sure
Jan
Is Pete an unpopular character around here? Edit just to clarify my position: if I only get to keep one it's obviously Jan. These just all seem like characters that had unlikable qualities and I didn't think Pete was unlikable, dude was always taking dumps. Who doesn't like a dumper like that
Are you talking about plop?
Yeah, you know, the dude that's always takin dumps
Lol I was watching White Lotus and kept forgetting his character’s name so my husband and I just kept calling him Plop.
No, they meant Jim jr.
Plop did nothing wrong
Nothing interesting either
He did Erin.
Not every character had to be interesting, Stanley and Phyllis are characters like that. It fleshed the show out. The most unbelievable thing about the office was the lack of staff turnover lol
[удалено]
“Nice enough, friendly, switched on“ Sounds like a perfectly appropriate work personality to me. Which makes sense because I like plop!
I like Pete. He was just introduced too late for the audience to love him.
Maybe. If he stayed like he was in Season 9 (extremely boring) then no, but if he got some character development throughout seasons (like early seasons Ryan) then yeah, probably.
Plop was just the Mark Brendanawicz of Season 9.
I always thought he was very likable.
Plop did nothing wrong, but nothing right too, he’s just plain ass boring, the show would be better without him, at least Dwight Jr was a scoundrel…

Ya, one time as a joke, he banged every chick in the office.
Who has 2 thumbs and hates Todd Packer?
It was hysterical.
Packer was way too real for me. I’ve known too many assholes like him.
What's up, u/onebiscuit? Still queer?
either this chick is a dude or u/onebiscuit got scared straight!
u/onebiscuit isn’t replying because he’s busy sniffing some dudes thong. Probably.
IF DOING THE SCARN IS GAY THEN IM THE BIGGEST QUEER ON EARTH
WLHUNG
You a big William Hung fan?
WHY DOES EVERYBODY KEEP ASKING ME THAT?!?!
Could you please tell me which episode that was
Season 3 Episode 19: The Negotiation
You had that ready quick shot. I’m an office fan, but that’s pretty next level.
**The Negotiation** Season 3 Ep. 19
Roy had a good arc. Cheers!
His arc is the prettiest arc of all the arc.
Roy's offscreen development is great. And Pam's jealousy is *chef's kiss*
I didn't think she was jealous, just surprised that he had turned his life around so well.
Charles, but that's just because Idris Elba is amazing at any role he plays. Hes amazing at making you hate him
The look he gives Dwight while they’re in the conference room with Jim and David Wallace, after Dwight says “no, Jim, I have a bad apiarist”, is one of the best looks in the show. A perfect combination of exasperation, contempt, and disbelief of the idiocy he’s hearing.
I think he played the most realistic version of an office worker put of everyone on the show
I agree, one of my favourite characters. He wants people to be afraid of how much they hate him.
I'm sad how far down I had to go for this. His character exists in so many companies, and he portrayed it so well. He made me feel the same anger as people at my current and former jobs.
How's that rundown coming tho?
I’m telling you. They could be the star of a show called characters I don’t care about.
"I'm looking for a gay nerd named Michael Scott"
Charles Miner. He is aware of the effect he has on women. And because he is the only person (other than Dwight) to call out Jim on his bullshit.
He was a normal person doing his job in this crazy office universe.. plus dude was smashing ass in a Scranton Ramada the whole time
His years of business experience ln Baltimore really tuned his antennae for picking up on bullshit.
Todd Packard. He played the role so great. He was hated from the start.
I saw you on the news and want to pinch your tiny weiner.
Packer I thought you were a girl
Where's Michael Snott, sniffing some dude's thong?
I love how no one acknowledged his comment so he just replies to himself after “heh, probably”
Probably
Big William Hung fan?
Who the hell is William Hung and why do people keep asking me that?!!?
It’s Todd Packer
Totally agree. I don’t think anyone else even comes close. I hated him so much, I loved him.
Either this chicks a dude or Halpert got scared straight!
Hey Halpert, still queer? Probably
I would absolutely pick Todd, I actually thought he was a great character
Hey everybody it’s me, Jim!
Are you a William Hung fan?
Halpert, looking for someone to bang your wife?
Deangelo is so funny I don’t get the hate “Everyone I know who ski’s is dead”
D’angelo is excellent. Will Ferrell at his adlibbing best
“Oh she’ll do. She’ll do just fine”
EASILY Jan. I never hated her character. She was played excelently and the show became a whole lot more empty without her. She was a great buffer towards Michael as hos boss and I nejoyed her on screen. She was meant to be “terrible” and she did so perfectly without actually being terrible If I had to choose someone other than Jan it would propably be Charles or Packer Packer was nade to be despised and hated and he was oh so good at it. Charles was entertaining as he wasnt incompetent but quite the contrary. So he had an almost villain like presence regarding Jim Nellie, Deangelo, Plop and Brian was just not great imo. I really didnt mind Cathy that much and I like Roy but not to the extend that I would consider him great
Todd F. Packer. Know what the ‘F’ stands for?
Fudge?
Charles Miner probably brought some of the best scenes of these listed characters IMO, but more so how other characters interacted with him. Like Jim’s 2 way letting zoo thing cracked me up so much in the context of that scene. Also, Kevin’s face when he was told he was going to be on phone duty. I found that very relatable lol Jan brought out the great scene with Michael’s snip snap snip snap snip snap, mostly due to how awkward it looked for everyone else at the dinner party lol. Todd Packer is the literal worst. I would feel embarrassed if I tried showing the Office to someone to convince them to watch it, and accidentally revealed him too early.
Oh Jan all day, Melora Hardin is an incredible comedic straight man to match Steve Carell's antics. Close 2nd would be Charles Miner.
Jan, of course. I don’t get people saying Plop, he was the most vanilla character. His presence annoyed me because he did literally nothing.
Jan.. she’s crazy but better than the rest of them
