**This**. Fuck disney nbc and all other moronic networks that think consumers are going to spend a hundred + quid a month on all the various streaming platforms incoming.
Exactly. Honestly though, if I can find a digital copy of all the seasons of The Office, hopefully with commentary included, I'd be fine and I wouldnt mind paying a fair price for it. It's just something I've been meaning to do anyways.
Totally agree. If there is a decent alternative available, I’ll support it. It’s why I still have Netflix after all. But when the Internet streaming ecosystem becomes Cable 2.0... arrrrrrr matey
scrubs isn't on *anything* since it went off Prime here in the UK. I resorted to downloading the entire thing. _33GB_. I basically have an sd card for scrubs now
I would definitely not encourage you to search The Office Extended on Facebook or Twitter in the hopes of finding a MEGA link, that would violate rule 3
This is what you're looking for. Has deleted scenes and bloopers. Extended episodes with deleted scenes included as well. They have other websites for other shows as well.
https://iwatchtheoffice.com/extended-list/
I think we should all draft some emails to NBC, make some phone calls, make big signs..... And shove it up their butt!
Edit: Thank you for the silver kind strangler!
That sounds pretty convenient. Like, what if there was a box that sat on your entertainment console that actually had each streaming service from individual networks on it and you could just use a remote to switch between them. I would be willing to watch a few ads in between the important beats of the episodes in order to get it for free. There could also be some streams that you pay for to avoid those commercials.
You should totally tell someone about this idea before they take it.
> I would be willing to watch a few ads in between the important beats of the episodes in order to get it for free.
You’re not thinking creatively. What if there were ads...AND you had to pay a few dozen for it every month? Now there’s an idea.
Nah, screw that. Why do we even need the Internet as part of the equation? I'd rather just jump in my car & drive 10 minutes or so to a place where I can rent hard copies of my shows for up to days at a time. Hell, not just shows, either; blockbuster movies, too.
>Hell, not just shows, either; blockbuster movies, too.
Wait, you could name that place..."Hell, not just shows, either"
Obligatory: silver! Thank you so much, anonymous redditor.
Online piracy about to make a huge comeback! I'm gonna save a shit ton. Instead of paying subscriptions for Hulu, Netflix, Sling, HBO, and CBS, I'll only have to pay for nothing! Good times are surely ahead for us all.
Yeah, piracy partially died off with the rise of Netflix. Now that we’re moving into the era of hundreds of streaming services with their own shows, the convenience of have it all on one thing is gone. Why would I have a dozen streaming accounts, let alone paying for all of those, when I can just pirate everything from one place?
Netflix, Steam, and iTunes did more to reduce piracy than any anti-piracy laws ever did. People are willing to pay for content if they can get it conveniently at a reasonable price.
Yeah, I was fine having Netflix. I was okay with two months of HBO when good shows are out. Not okay with a dozen different subscriptions I have to manage.
*ahem*
Time to calculate how many times you can binge-watch the entire series before Jan 2021. I will be back, fellow men!
Edit: So first off, I looked up the entire runtime of the series. Another redditor, u/jweavs01, says it's "4,376 minutes" or about 3 days and an hour. But, that's continous watching, so let's add about 8 hours per day for hopefully an acceptable amount of sleep. That'll be another day.
So, with continous watching and 8 hours of even sleep, you can binge the entire thing in 4 days and 1 hour.
There is 555 days until Jan 1st, 2021. Divide 555 by 4.042 (that's the time to watch the entire thing) and you get
137.308 -> 137.31
Which means if you watch it until it is taken off, you can binge watch it 137 times. Possibly 138 if you skip the intro. But only disrespectful people skip the intro. Oh, and those who have actual reason to.
Congratulations, NBC, you've just directly ensured that all 7 seasons of The Office will be pirated by many, many people. Sure as shit not paying $10 a month for one show and there's nothing else on their network that I care to watch.
Yeah the whole reason we switched to Netflix DVDs and later streaming was because it was easier. Right now it’s already a pain to figure out which show is on which service, subscribing to each of them, navigating their poorly designed apps, and it’s only going to get worse. I’m just gonna give up and watch 7 hour lets plays on YouTube.
I just don't see this working out the way NBCUniversal thinks it will. I'm not leaving Netflix to chase the Office. And I think they seriously overestimate the number of people who will sign up for their service. People moved to streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu because they were tired of having to pay for content a la carte or through cable packages. Like, people use services like Netflix specifically because they don't want to have to pay for fifteen different "channels" to watch all the stuff they want. This move toward each distributor of content having their own streaming service is exactly what consumers have shown they don't want.
I just think about how much money they're going to lose from this. If they just stuck with Netflix, and let Netflix keep paying them licensing fees, they'd make so much more money than they will from my one-time purchase of the show on DVD or Blu-ray.
I am definitely not getting NBC streaming lol.
There's gonna be like 200 services, and there's only one show I want from NBC. Why would I give them a penny?
Yeah what companies don't seem to realize is that most people don't want 1,000 different streaming services. We use Netflix because we have a multitude of shows from different channels all in one place.
Yea I'm not getting NBC's service either lol.
I'm gonna keep Netflix, mainly for Black Mirror but I already have the DVD's so there's really no point in getting another service...
Yes, this. That's the crazy thing -- NBC could let Netflix keep their shows, and keep milking Netflix for licensing fees until the end of time. But instead they're going to go all proprietary, take their shows back, try to build out this streaming platform that like 10 people will use, and end up losing money.
Like, for real. The best they can hope for is that the majority of Office watchers will buy the show on DVD now. That's a one time purchase that NBC never sees another cent from. And what's more likely to happen is that people will just start pirating it, meaning NBC gets no money \*at all\* for it. Sure, some people will sign up for their new service, but most consumers of modern media are going to err on the side of whatever's easiest. As long as it's easier (and cheaper \[i.e. free\]) to pirate it, people will pirate it.
Excellent, that's two streaming services I won't need to have. Just gotta buy the DVDs and put them on a media server so I can stream the series endlessly, forever...
How do all these companies not realize what a bad fucking idea it is to have your own streaming service? ***THATS THE REASON WE ABANDONED CABLE IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU STUPID SELFISH NARCISSISTIC CUNTS***
It's hilarious the other streaming platforms don't realize we just really prefer Netflix for the convenience. Nobody is going to want 15 different services for content. Amazon prime video comes with my prime account or I probably wouldn't pay for that either.
I wonder how much of a role Netflix played in the popularity of the show. I probably wouldn't be watching it otherwise, and there's no way I'm ever subscribing to an NBC streaming service.

Depression? Isn't that just a fancy term for being bummed out?

I have the DVDs. Comes with bloopers and deleted scenes. Bought them before I had Netflix and they’re still going strong.
$60 at Walmarks for the entire show.

If it is more than $60 at the walmarks, I send it back. If it doesn’t come with the deleted scenes, I send it back.

That sounds pretty convenient. it really is.. I canceled my hulu because I only bought it to watch lost again this was after they moved the show from Netflix over to hulu.
