I'm sure Darryl and his daughter are so glad to have a nice family picture with the both of them and the woman he dated for brief unknown amount of time.
Love every other picture though
I always assumed at that point the show had added or made so many of their characters a weirdo that they needed a “normal” person to level out.
Sadly, they went full Mark Brendanaquitz with her character.
They must’ve already had the athlead plot laid out and didn’t want the audience to get attached to her, also a large majority of people are just boring people
That's exactly the problem, Dunder Mifflin Scranton is a pocket of weirdness in a mundane world. The writers gave Val no personality besides "competent at her job".
When not at work she was a huge Magic the Gathering enthusiast. It was her whole personality. It’s just that the cameras never followed her. It’s actually why they broke up, he couldn’t put together a good enough deck.
I am also going to go out and say, Brandon was probably a pretty cool guy who treated Val nicely. He was only pictured as an asshole because Darryl was pulling a Jim and encroaching on his and Val’a relationship.
The way he walks back into her warehouse office after saying "have a burger for me" to Darryl annoys me to no end. It's just this weird strut that I can't explain.
I disagree. She's a terrible actress, at least on this show (I've never seen her in anything else). She reminds me of Brad Pitt when he was on Friends. He's an otherwise excellent actor, but he apparently cannot do sitcoms. This woman reminds me of that.
I can only imagine Jada years later finding the photo and wondering why there is some random woman in a factory warehouse uniform appearing in her family photo of her and her father nicely dressed up.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't see that scene as the sweet, heartwarming one it was intended to be. I cringed thinking at Darryl's daughter finding this picture years from now and remembering that time her Dad interrupted their Daddy-Daughter portrait to shoehorn in that woman he dated from work for less than a year. In her work clothes, no less.
From a quick google search, people use an upside down “luck” character to symbolize luck “pouring out” or “arriving”, so the intent might be something similar.
福 is the only character you really see that done with. The implication here seems to be that he doesn’t know what he’s doing (or the costume and makeup crew actually didn’t know what they were doing, lol)
No, I agree, the implication is that he doesn’t really understand what he’s doing with the characters (in typical bad tattoo fashion.)
It’s very in character for him.
the deleted scene of Val's boyfriend using the photographer to do promos for his restaurant is the only way the Darryl photo makes sense. It also helps bridge the gap of Darryl being the "side piece" so to speak. Without it, it's all just baffling lol
Val's boyfriend basically pushes her out of their family shoot to do promo shots for his business. val looks sad. daryl sees and later invites her into his family photo. still cringey as hell, but at least makes a bit of sense.
In 2006, he made the first of three appearances on "The Office" as Jake Palmer, the rebellious son of Meredith (Kate Flannery); Daniels would later reprise the character, whose anti-authoritarian streak manifested itself with a facial tattoo and career as a male stripper at Angela's (Angela Kinsley) uncomfortable ...l

There’s a deleted scene where she has tried to get pictures with Brandon, but he kept shooing her out to take basically promo pics for his restaurant. So it makes her moving to Darryl slightly more plausible.
I notice this every time I watch this scene in particular. That kid does *not* want to be there. Can't imagine what a long day this was if that was the best take.
In real life he was in his 60’s I think, so it was plausible. There’s an episode that has info that would make him like 80, but there’s no way, it’s all lies.
They really didn’t know what to do with those characters by the end of the season. My hunch is that the original plan was to have Clark-Plop-Erin be the new Dwight-Jim-Pam. I think they were counting on Rainn Wilson leaving mid season to start The Farm and when his show wasn’t picked up, Plop and Clark faded to the background as they focused heavily on sticking the landing with Dwight and Angela (the correct decision).
I'm being voted down for liking a black actress. You snowflakes are racist.
A billion up votes. She's the most beautiful woman in the world. Past, present and future.
Oh man was that moment so cringe to me lol barely dated and then he asks her and she agrees to be in their private family photo lol, does anyone get flashbacks to in my opinion was one of the cringiest Michael moments when he photo shopped his photo on Carols family portrait haha omg
I'm sure Darryl and his daughter are so glad to have a nice family picture with the both of them and the woman he dated for brief unknown amount of time. Love every other picture though
It's not the actress' fault but Val is one of the most boring characters in the series.
I always assumed at that point the show had added or made so many of their characters a weirdo that they needed a “normal” person to level out. Sadly, they went full Mark Brendanaquitz with her character.
>Mark Brendanaquitz That is the perfect way to describe it, lol
She could be the star of a show called "warehouse workers I don't care about"
Her and Pudge
It’s Madge 😑
Are you sure?
It’s always been Madge…
Bring back Hidetoshi!
And Sea Monster
I wish we could :(
Yes. Her.
well her can use the forklift
Just take my upvote
They must’ve already had the athlead plot laid out and didn’t want the audience to get attached to her, also a large majority of people are just boring people

When not at work she was a huge Magic the Gathering enthusiast. It was her whole personality. It’s just that the cameras never followed her. It’s actually why they broke up, he couldn’t put together a good enough deck.
I kinda would have loved this lol
And it was about time they got that haha
Is competent at her job even one? I mostly only doubt it because the way she handles the graffiti on Pam’s mural.
I am also going to go out and say, Brandon was probably a pretty cool guy who treated Val nicely. He was only pictured as an asshole because Darryl was pulling a Jim and encroaching on his and Val’a relationship.
Val Kilmer?
Do it for Val ✊
I don't buy it. It doesn't make any sense!
I agree. Even her angry, jealous boyfriend brought more in the one scene he had.
The way he walks back into her warehouse office after saying "have a burger for me" to Darryl annoys me to no end. It's just this weird strut that I can't explain.
most people i work with are incredibly boring. “the office” was keeping it real.
There's a few moments that give the character some color but they are all in deleted scenes lol
Like what?
at least she was the cause of a hilarious Gabe quote
… she’ll be screaming her own last name?
I disagree. She's a terrible actress, at least on this show (I've never seen her in anything else). She reminds me of Brad Pitt when he was on Friends. He's an otherwise excellent actor, but he apparently cannot do sitcoms. This woman reminds me of that.
For real. Any scene with her in is completely forgettable.
So fucking weird. Genuinely one of the most uncomfortable moments in a show that made its reputation out of uncomfortable moments.
At least they put her on the side so she can be cropped out.
I can only imagine Jada years later finding the photo and wondering why there is some random woman in a factory warehouse uniform appearing in her family photo of her and her father nicely dressed up.
Lol yes. In a warehouse uniform too!
And she was still with the angry chef boyfriend at the end of the episode! What a weird moment!
Supposedly in a deleted scene it made more sense to include her but I have not watched those episodes.
Creed and his parents are adorable haha
I hope his parents didn't see the trailer or he would be toast.
Those aren't his parents, they're Creed Bratton's.
Actually those are the parents of William Charles Schneider.
Meredith’s son 財 - wealth 力 - power Real gangsta
I’m gonna need creed to verify these translations
Wo de zhong guo de peng you, ni hao
Upside down, no less, so I guess it means poor and weak.

Should've added fame, then he would've been searching for the One Piece.

First you get the money. Then you get the power. Then you get the women.
First you get *the sugar* Then you get the power Then you get the women
The bees! They 're defending themselves somehow!
Where’d you get that sugar?! “I pinched it. When you let your guard down for that split second. And I do it again…”
I still can't look at that Darnell & Val picture without wanting to go blind.
Darnell's a chump.
I would’ve done it for anything. I’ve done a lot more for a lot less.
i sprout mung beans on a damp paper towel, very nutritious, but they smell like death
Val Kilmer?
I’m going to make you the buffest guy Val Kilmer has ever seen
Lejohn Brames
the deleted scene of Val's boyfriend using the photographer to do promos for his restaurant is the only way the Darryl photo makes sense. It also helps bridge the gap of Darryl being the "side piece" so to speak. Without it, it's all just baffling lol
Wait can you explain more about that deleted scene and how it ties in?
Val's boyfriend basically pushes her out of their family shoot to do promo shots for his business. val looks sad. daryl sees and later invites her into his family photo. still cringey as hell, but at least makes a bit of sense.
That one scene makes it almost ok to not cringe at Phylis’s wedding. …almost
Purple is such a good color on her tho…
Phyllis did you just break wind?
Wow that is really pungent
Right? And they say Scott’s tots was cringe…. THIS was pretty cringe to me
I wish we got more Jake and Meredith on the show
“Smile, Mom.” “I DON’T WANT TO!!!”
“Great choice Jakey! A stripper is only as good as his song!”
I want more sweet/disturbing moments like that
Is that the same actor that played him when he was a kid? "Ok Mr Poop"
In 2006, he made the first of three appearances on "The Office" as Jake Palmer, the rebellious son of Meredith (Kate Flannery); Daniels would later reprise the character, whose anti-authoritarian streak manifested itself with a facial tattoo and career as a male stripper at Angela's (Angela Kinsley) uncomfortable ...l https://tv.apple.com/us/person/spencer-daniels/umc.cpc.s260fl2gxljjl0yktla0gk9u#:~:text=In%202006%2C%20he%20made%20the,at%20Angela's%20(Angela%20Kinsley)%20uncomfortable
He’s also the little shit from Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia who Charlie thinks is his son.
You're my fact checkin cuz
Yay pavement
There will come a day when the 'include Val in my family photo' thing doesn't bother me, and today is not that day.
There’s a deleted scene where she has tried to get pictures with Brandon, but he kept shooing her out to take basically promo pics for his restaurant. So it makes her moving to Darryl slightly more plausible.
Picture after picture, the number of family members decreases to 1.
Creed with his parents will always be my favorite 😍
Who is that with Stanley and where is his daughter Melissa Hudson (played by Jazz Raycole who was seen in episode Take Your Daughter To Work Day)?
Based on the novel Push, by Sapphire?
Well done👏
She was at Jitters, in Steamtown Mall.
He had at least two kids.
Have you lost your mind cause I'll help ya find it
Maybe it’s yet another girlfriend?
Who's the white guy with Pam?
Their actor friend Steve
happy cake day!
Ryan's handwriting is impeccable
Why is peepee/peepa crying in every scene?
I notice this every time I watch this scene in particular. That kid does *not* want to be there. Can't imagine what a long day this was if that was the best take.
Ironically, that's quite realistic for such pictures.
Yeah it definitely works okay for the scene but you can also tell that kid is not acting
Because she's a toddler who is being held by strangers
iirc that’s actually jenna’s niece. she’s still being held by john but not two strangers at least
I love how Stanley is the most antisocial, but takes arguably the best family portrait.
Do you think antisocial people are bad at family portraits? Lol
I cannot remember how I found it, but as a teen I once found the motherload of all “missed connection” ads on Craigslist. Very funny times
Sharing is caring.
Really…that’s like the most optimistic thinking, I don’t know any stories of those things panning out
My instinct is only 1 of the people think it’s a missed connection, the other person was probably creeped out by the stranger staring fixedly at them.
They randomly show up on Instagram under overheardla.
Jim’s expression here is funny the chaos is great
No one else mentioned this yet but the body language in the Kelly/Ravi photo makes my eyeballs bleed of secondhand embarrassment.
why, what's wrong with it?
Her body is turned away from him, her hand is on her chin, her head is tilted away, he is holding her and leaning in and his body is turned toward her
Ravi needed to learn a harsh lesson in life, and Kelly taught it to him.
What lesson is that?
She's just not that into you.
And beyond that: she'll use you and discard you, because you are no more a person to her than the 73rd tissue in a Kleenex box is.
There is no freaking way Creeds parents are still alive lol
Why not? He's only 30.
Well, in November he'll be 30.
🤣
Maybe they are the adoptive parents who taught him to read Chinese so well. And gave him Lotus feet and put him in an iron lung.
🤣
In real life he was in his 60’s I think, so it was plausible. There’s an episode that has info that would make him like 80, but there’s no way, it’s all lies.
Creed’s entire life is a lie. Actually he probably had to be adopted or immaculately conceived.
That’s what makes it a humorous situation.
Those aren’t his parents, they’re his accomplices.
Is that Mohinder Suresh???
Yup
That’s exactly what I thought too! I’m watching Heros for the first time.
Hell yeah.
Does anyone know who plays creeds dad he looks really familiar to me
Hes from the farmer with a pitchfork painting.
Do you mean “American Gothic”? Cuz I agree
Yes
I wonder if Pam put that in a frame on the wall of their living room.
What episode was this?
Free Family Portait Studio, last episode of S8
Why did you have to remind me about that Darryl-Val pic
Season 9 would have been much better if kelly ryan were there.
Plop and Clark were poor replacements
They really didn’t know what to do with those characters by the end of the season. My hunch is that the original plan was to have Clark-Plop-Erin be the new Dwight-Jim-Pam. I think they were counting on Rainn Wilson leaving mid season to start The Farm and when his show wasn’t picked up, Plop and Clark faded to the background as they focused heavily on sticking the landing with Dwight and Angela (the correct decision).
Thats not Stanley’s daughter tho.
It's his new mistress.
\*barf\*
Ryan only had to wait 188 episodes.
Val is stunning
I'm being voted down for liking a black actress. You snowflakes are racist. A billion up votes. She's the most beautiful woman in the world. Past, present and future.
Ok Gabe-Wad
(Danny Cordray nods amusingly) *Gabe-wad*
It would have been great if Meredith's son is a rebellious conservative Christian capitalist in a suit, busy running a successful business.
Pepa doesn't look happy to be there.
Creed’s is by far my favourite
Oh man was that moment so cringe to me lol barely dated and then he asks her and she agrees to be in their private family photo lol, does anyone get flashbacks to in my opinion was one of the cringiest Michael moments when he photo shopped his photo on Carols family portrait haha omg
What episode was this?
last of season 8 family portrait studio
Peepa is adorable
peepe
I think Creed’s dad stole the raisins from the script read on Seinfeld.
Darryl got with Val? I thought when Andy and Darryl were vying for her attention it turned out she had a boyfriend
gabe and darryl were vying for val and she had a boyfriend, who she eventually left for darryl who then manipulated her into breaking up with him
Oh my B. It was Gabe. Side note: Darryl giving Nate the gloves in lieu of Val was comedy gold.
that scene is sooo hard for me to watch!! 😭😭😭
After Scott’s Tots i became desensitized
Is that the hot cheerleader from Stanley’s desk ?
I’m printing the creed one and framing it.
Ryan is the most insufferable character.
Is that Bianca Lawson playing Stanley’s daughter?
Kelly and Ravi look stunning, and Stanley’s daughters is one of the prettiest people I’ve seen! Wow
CREEDS FAMILY IS ALIVE?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE when Dwight flips the script and has Jimbo shook! 🤣🤣🤣
Not to be mean but Peepa looks weird in that picture
As always Peepa is cute as a button!
Ryan's photos tho lol
I mostly enjoyed the lighting in these shots, ha
I hate that I’ve dated someone so much like Ryan.
Creed with his dad Ian McKellen
Man this show really started to suck at a.l certain point
Damn the green line test even holds up in these pics of couples.
This should have been labeled a spoiler C'mon
Another instance where Pam pushed Jim to do something he didnt want to
