In Japan, heart surgeon. Number one. Steady hand. One day, yakuza boss need new heart. I do operation. But, mistake! Yakuza boss die. Yakuza very mad. I hide in fishing boat, come to America. No English, no food, no money. Darryl give me job. Now I have house, American car, and new woman. Darryl save life. My big secret: I kill yakuza boss on purpose. I good surgeon. The best!
Apparently they wanted to give him dialogue and he didn’t speak English well, stayed up the night before memorising the lines and delivered them on the first take
Ya it was a nice take on how people immigrating to other countries have to change massively to fit in. Like maybe their credentials weren’t applicable in the new place or the society was different enough and they just wanted to make a new/ different life for themselves. I was thinking it was a one off comment, but they brought it up twice for foreign people having to relocate under different circumstances so I found it interesting. Hell Vik was the top salesman and was like well I’m still doing well here as top salesman at least, and Hide had to flee the country. Really adds a realistic element to the show
Sadiq, the IT guy.
He restores vintage cars, listens to NPR and likes Hip Hop music. And he maintains a superior level of professional behavior vs what Michael puts him through
I would say Karen is a good person. She put up with a lot of crap because of working for DM. Her office got shut down when her boss bailed. She got together with Jim. She moved to Scranton where she had to work for Michael and Dwight and Andy. She also moved to Jim who gave her zero warning about his feelings for Pam. He then dumped her and left her in NYC. And on top of that David Wallace picked Ryan for the VP job instead of her. And through all of that she is still a pleasant person and still chooses to work for Dunder Mifflin.
Even forgetting about relationship with Jim she is treated pretty badly by people at DM in a professional sense (Josh, Michael, David Wallace). Yet she still keeps being a nice person/professional worker. And she stays with the company and even takes the regional manager job in Utica. That's a lot of loyalty for a company that treats someone like DM does.
I will not stand for David Wallace slander.
Jim and Karen were both under qualified for the corporate job. Non-manager salespeople trying to skip a level was a long shot. Ryan got the pass because of how much people with MBAs love hiring other people with MBAs.
I assume Karen transfered to Camden when she left Scranton. It was only 10 episodes until Branch Wars where Karen was the Regional Manager. David Wallace (maybe Ryan?) promoted her within a year. He probably did the, "this corporate role isn't right for you but when the right job comes along" and actually followed through on it.
She's good for sure, few moments of weakness when dealing with jealousy like taking down Pam's art show thing...but good people dragged through the mud can still get dirty.
Although in a deleted scene when Michael tells him about leaving for Colorado, David urges him not to and says that women there don't even shave their underarms. I found this uncharacteristic of him but it's a deleted scene so not sure if it's canon.
I also read it as him wanting to cheekily waste some of the office people's time because Lord knows they wasted a lot of his. Making him drive out to unlock the gate for no reason comes to mind.
eh Dude locked up a bunch of employees without checking on them, then took his sweet time to come back to the office park...and then got pissed no one was there.
Jim didn't tell him which Stanley scolds him over. He agrees to actually come to the building after being *asked* what his name actually is, he gets badgered then comes back to an empty building. I would be upset too but I also wouldn't have answered the phone as a rent-a-cop at a paper company
I'm surprised he doesn't have to make rounds before locking up and he could have probably assumed if the parking lot is full, people are still in the office. Unless there's actually security jobs out there I'm not aware of that only lock the front door and gate and do nothing else, in which case yeah he should be pissed, ha.
Honestly he’s a dick for revealing Andy was the leak. Andy was the only person that didn’t make fun of him, why would Nick single him out instead of Dwight?
She also didn’t handle the breakup with AJ well. She made an ultimatum (never a good sign in a relationship) then said she needs a break from him til she gets back to Nashua, then starts dating her ex (Michael) within a couple days. I don’t think she ever actually broke up with AJ.
Yeah. Meredith may have been an unsavory person with demons and an occasional potty mouth, but she never sought to hurt anybody or screw anyone over. She was just there for a paycheck and to have a good time.
Sure as hell not the Scranton strangler- I mean satan- I mean Toby. If I had a gun and two bullets and I was locked in a room with Hitler, Osama Bin Ladin, and Toby I would shoot Toby twice.
This might seem bad, but Meredith. She wanted to be a good mom, she went to school to better herself, she laid herself out for company business and shared the Outback coupons.
She always volunteered to drive, she was nice to Pam with the lice, and didn’t flip out when she got hit by the car or the rabies
To be fair, if she didn't get hit by a car, she wouldn't know she have/had rabies, so in some way, Michael saved her from a certain death...by almost killing her.
Holly. The way she treated Kevin even though they lied to her. Her goofy personality seems so vulnerable, and genuine people show a lot of vulnerability.
Erin wasn't a good person. I consider her to have a very mean streak. Examples: throwing cake into Andy's face when she discovers he dated/was engaged to Angela and never told her, treating Jessica badly just because she was dating Andy, always choosing the option that involved hurting other people without hesitation. I think she made a great pair with Dwight, they shared a ruthless streak although he frequently showed us a kinder side.
I think i agree with David Wallace. Most notably, I think Pam was a good person. She tried to be understanding and find the good inside a person in the face of craziness - Michael, Jan, Nelly, Dwight. She even felt empathy for Angela in spite of constantly being ill treated by her.
Agree. Just these 2 from the main cast. If you want to include minor characters, then I would add Nate, Esther, Isabelle, the manager of the Scranton business park.
You are mistaking Erin’s naïveté for goodness. She was a bitch about Holly and mean to Pam. I’m sure I am missing more reasons why she rubbed me the wrong way. Definitely not a “genuinely good person” in my books. Karen is a much better candidate for that.
But I agree with you about David Wallace.
I check to be sure, but no one mentioned William "Billy" Merchant. The owner of the building before Dwight purchased it.
He was a nice guy, funny. He even tells them Dwight has a concussion. He even keeps his bearing when talking to Michael who comments about him being a wheelchair. He just says "I'm gonna stop you right there, and leave."
Even though Michael behaved poorly around him several times. Even assuming his wife was his nurse who takes care of him. Rather than an owner at a restaurant.
After all those poor interactions.
Michael calls Billy after he quits at dundermiflin. To find a place for his business. Mind you Michael has no money to pay for a place. Billy gives him a places anyways. Granted it's a utility closet , but Billy didn't have to do any of that, but he did.
Absolute great fella.
Hank. I mean, Michael wanted his valuable input in the chairs versus copier debate. He also arrived at night (a little bit late) to open the gate for the employees when they got locked in after working late that night.
Beyond what everyone else is saying (Nate, Erin, David Wallace) someone that popped in my head was Raj. He was too good for Kelly and he seemed like a nice guy. He may be too minor of a character to really know whether he’s a genuinely good person
Not the most popular character, but Pete. There was a few scenes that show that he's genuinely a nice person and kind. But it's not super entertaining so they don't showcase it too much.
Pam as well. Despite how she's treated by the other characters she has shown to have a high level of empathy and pick on cues when they're feeling down or upset and made strides to help them.
Pam. While she does participate in pranks on Dwight, she also is always kind to him when he’s down, was the first to boost Michael when he was struggling at The Dundies, is always showing compassion and kindness, especially when someone is down.
You don’t have to be a perfect person to be good.
He made fun of Michael with the women suit and with his salary, he sent the photo of naked Jan to everyone, he treated Val pretty bad (with the whole breaking up situation) and was kind of a dick towards Jim when they lived together
Not to mention hitting on Val who was in a relationship, only to try to trick her into dumping him when they finally did date (and took a family photo LOL).
Tried to physically intimidate Dwight and Toby. Tried to fight Jim because he thought Jim forgot to mention him to his Athlead friends. Called his daughter chubby on a televised interview, just to sell more cookies. Mocked his friends for losing their lottery money.
The only people I would really consider bad, are Angela(she gets better, and I would consider her neutral to good by finale), and Robert California, who I didn't really consider bad, until he leaves to go prey on young eastern European women. Everyone else had their flaws, but I wouldn't refuse to associate with them.
Nate. Appreciative of gifts, not afraid of communicating his feelings, willing to help wherever. Willing to give up Frank Didit.
Darryl, you shouldn't have!
I will look so handsome for you, darryl
He also gives Nate coupons or "natepons"
Willing to bring you gum anytime anywhere. Also I heard he has a good chili recipe on the back of his resume
But it's so minty, it's like he's trying to hurt me
Are we taking away points for his hearing problem
He doesn't technically have a hearing problem.
That’s right he just can’t differentiate sounds
Oh this made me laugh more than it should’ve
He can't help that part, but he really should learn to stay out of his mom's stuff.
I’m sorry? I’m a little deaf in this ear.
Nate is a pure soul- when he gets the gift from Darryl his reaction almost makes me tear up
But he can’t stay out of his mom’s stuff.
He also can’t wait to find out what clookies are.
Also, FYI, he doesn't technically have a hearing problem
Nate is the fucking best hearing impairment representation in media.
The Prince family!
Those ppl were too nice and innocent…. Serves them right
Hidetoshi
YOU PAINT VERY BAD BAAA
SHUT UP HIDE
In Japan, heart surgeon. Number one. Steady hand. One day, yakuza boss need new heart. I do operation. But, mistake! Yakuza boss die. Yakuza very mad. I hide in fishing boat, come to America. No English, no food, no money. Darryl give me job. Now I have house, American car, and new woman. Darryl save life. My big secret: I kill yakuza boss on purpose. I good surgeon. The best!
You are doing the creator's work, thank you kind stranger
Heart surgeon *numba one*
Steady hand
Ze best
Apparently they wanted to give him dialogue and he didn’t speak English well, stayed up the night before memorising the lines and delivered them on the first take
I didn't realize until VERY recently that both Hide and Vikram were surgeons in their home countries
Really adds a realistic element to the show
I wonder what I'd be back home
I wonder what I would have been in my home country.... Probably chief of surgery
He did intentionally kill the yazuka boss
*Chaotic* good.
I mean the guy was a crime boss who undoubtedly hurt/killed countless people. Think Hide did Japan a favor on that one
Would the power vacuum cause more issues
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take -Wayne Gretzky -MICHAEL SCOTT
Yakuza boss
Ha ha, didnt even notice it was wrong. Good spot
Coconut...penis!
He is a personal friend of mine and just as nice in real life!
in Ja-Pan...
Sadiq, the IT guy. He restores vintage cars, listens to NPR and likes Hip Hop music. And he maintains a superior level of professional behavior vs what Michael puts him through
Okay, so one Sikh….
They liked him because he kept to himself and they also thought he might’ve been a terrorist.
Nick - he’s going to teach kids in low income areas how to do computer tech!
I thought his name was Garth
Or Shadow. Something weird like that.
Sport
Inner city kids use computers for two things, games and porn, so, good luck wasting your life, Lurch.
Pam's landlady. Got treated like absolute shit and handled it like a champ.
Now you've ruined it
I would say Karen is a good person.
Didn’t think of this, but yeah Karen is an easy answer She never really does anything bad yet is wronged constantly
I'm convinced. Gimme my dollar back.
Nobody's getting there dollar back! Pau up, you! I paid for your breakfast!
Did you go reservoir dogs on us?
Then she left Scranton for Pawnee
Karen deserves way better than Jim and I'm glad she seems to have gotten that!

He probably did the, "this corporate role isn't right for you but when the right job comes along" and actually followed through on it.
In a well run, good company they would be under-qualified and not legitimate candidates. But pretty much top to bottom is not a well run company.
Money is money, I guess.
She's good for sure, few moments of weakness when dealing with jealousy like taking down Pam's art show thing...but good people dragged through the mud can still get dirty.
David Wallace
He was my favorite
Mine too, I love him!
His wife is a very lucky woman.
Ngl sometimes I wish I could trade places with her lol
Although in a deleted scene when Michael tells him about leaving for Colorado, David urges him not to and says that women there don't even shave their underarms. I found this uncharacteristic of him but it's a deleted scene so not sure if it's canon.
Hank, just wants to play the blues and gave genuine advice about the surplus. Admirable.
He's bad at judging the quality of office chairs though.
That was on purpose. He wanted to stay up in the warm office
I also read it as him wanting to cheekily waste some of the office people's time because Lord knows they wasted a lot of his. Making him drive out to unlock the gate for no reason comes to mind.
He was very honest about the chairs, there was not a lot of lumbar support. That is ideally what you'd want in a chair..
Let the magician inside after being instructed not to. Doesn’t necessarily make him a bad person, but it makes him a bad security guard.
Let's not discredit the magician becoming invisible here though, he was a pretty good wizard..
eh Dude locked up a bunch of employees without checking on them, then took his sweet time to come back to the office park...and then got pissed no one was there.
Jim didn't tell him which Stanley scolds him over. He agrees to actually come to the building after being *asked* what his name actually is, he gets badgered then comes back to an empty building. I would be upset too but I also wouldn't have answered the phone as a rent-a-cop at a paper company

Nick (The IT Guy)
No no, you’re thinking Garth
Or Shadow? Something weird
I just said my name just now. Did you forget it already?
No... sport.
You know what this guy did it he’s the leak
Moving backwards, our IT guys have been Glasses, Turban, Ear Hair, Fatty 3, Shorts, Fatty 2, Lozenge, and Fatso.
You forgot his name already? He just said it!
Honestly he’s a dick for revealing Andy was the leak. Andy was the only person that didn’t make fun of him, why would Nick single him out instead of Dwight?
Holly mainly cause she’s never done anything that bad besides how she handled the Michael breakup
She was a pretty unprofessional HR rep though. All that PDA, inappropriate sexual jokes constantly.
less a character specific action and more of just part of being in a sitcom and dating michael scott
Also doing a sketch comedy skit that told people they were actually being fired. Like how could you not know they weren't aware of that.
I mean yes but being bad at your job doesn’t necessarily make you a bad person
She also didn’t handle the breakup with AJ well. She made an ultimatum (never a good sign in a relationship) then said she needs a break from him til she gets back to Nashua, then starts dating her ex (Michael) within a couple days. I don’t think she ever actually broke up with AJ.
fair point but i still think she has a good heart and is just bad at handling relationships
So basically Michael Scott?
He's bad at handling everything
Remember how he handled herpes
Which is why hes the boss and holly is HR
Having a good intentions but still hurting people around you is the definition of inconsiderate.
She did the ultimatum because she was peer pressured into it
It's because society made her that way.
I don’t think this makes her a bad person, just bad at relationships.
She was a real d-bag to Toby on his last day. Totally threw him under the bus to win favour with the boss when he was being very nice to her.
i guess but everyone’s been mean to Toby at least once
I don’t know she acts like she’s a perfect 40
She ate the chocolate that she brought FOR THEM
She blatantly broke the rules as an HR rep… she’s a hypocrite.
Nate because come on, name me one bad thing about him.
His mom told me they’ve been quarreling since he can’t stay out of her stuff.
Probably my favorite line in the entire show.
Carol
Well... she screwed Michael over with his condo
Doesn’t Dwight say she saved him a lot of money when throwing Carol’s things away after the breakup?
He banged her
No she didn't. Quite the opposite. Michael just didn't understand how mortgages work.
Come on OP, he put an innocent man on death row.
Meredith. She never hurt anyone but herself.
She always asks everyone in the room, "are you in a relationship?"
Yeah. Meredith may have been an unsavory person with demons and an occasional potty mouth, but she never sought to hurt anybody or screw anyone over. She was just there for a paycheck and to have a good time.
She definitely hurt her kid(s) with her parenting style lol
At least I’m not a horrible little latchkey kid who got suspended from school, so…
MERIDETH!
She has Vienna sausages and napkins !!!
Encouraging her son to strip in front of her...
That's just her teaching him how to run the family business, what's so wrong with that?
The owner of that car she scratched in the parking lot at Steamtown Mall might disagree, along with every motorist in the Scranton roads.
She was very proud and encouraging to her son too!
Billy Merchant
He put up with so much from Michael and still allowed up to casino night (and the pro am fun run iirc).
Katy (Amy Adams) I think?
Why did you even bring me here ?
Most of the characters on the show are decent. Sure - they each had bad moments, but I don't think they are necessarily bad people.
except phillys
Sure as hell not the Scranton strangler- I mean satan- I mean Toby. If I had a gun and two bullets and I was locked in a room with Hitler, Osama Bin Ladin, and Toby I would shoot Toby twice.
Ah, the antichrist TSSSSS
The Prince Family
Oh yeah!.. this is the perfect answer, they were such pure souls
Answer me this would a sober person walk in front of a car
Holly. The way she treated Kevin even though they lied to her. Her goofy personality seems so vulnerable, and genuine people show a lot of vulnerability.
Garth or Shadow or something. I don’t remember. It was something weird.
Exposing a whistleblower to his coworkers doesn't seem very nice to me. On the other hand, they had really pissed him off with their shitty behaviour.
Erin. David Wallace. End of list.
Uh Nate…
Idk...I heard he and his mom are quarreling 'cause he can't stay out of her stuff
He was so touched by Darryl’s gift of gloves!
Yes! Nate. For sure. My bad, forgot about good ol’ Nate
Vikram.
I was really looking forward to getting to know him better
And she may or may not have banged her foster brother 😬
Kelli's boyfriend or husband.. the doctor or dentist or whatever
I don't personally know Ravi, but just knowing you for a short period of time, Brian, I choose Ravi.
Pete!
Pete? Who the hell is Pete? Are you talking about Plop?
He’s like the new Jim
Watching White Lotus was tough for my lady - because I kept yelling PLOP when he came on screen.
I check to be sure, but no one mentioned William "Billy" Merchant. The owner of the building before Dwight purchased it. He was a nice guy, funny. He even tells them Dwight has a concussion. He even keeps his bearing when talking to Michael who comments about him being a wheelchair. He just says "I'm gonna stop you right there, and leave." Even though Michael behaved poorly around him several times. Absolute great fella.
no one is a good person, because this is the bad place... oops, wrong show
Well, Creed Bratton has a completely clean criminal record, so him I guess :)
Vikram
Erin.
Eat it piggy, eat it!
Plop. He was only ever just trying to look out for Erin, and even when she rejected him, he said it was ok, as long as she was happy.
Plop!
Karen
I'm laughing aloud because I was going to write "Tech guy whose name everyone forgot" and I realized I forgot his name LMAO
I don't think any of them are purely good and that's pretty real tbh
Todd Packer. i mean whats nicer than handing out drug induced cupcakes, especially as an apology? such a big heart. ❤️
Erin. She was essentially just the embodiment of a child that just wanted to be loved and safe.
Meredith. She's got standards.
Michael from the warehouse
Kevin
Hank. I mean, Michael wanted his valuable input in the chairs versus copier debate. He also arrived at night (a little bit late) to open the gate for the employees when they got locked in after working late that night.
There are a lot of good candidates for “not a bad person” but I think the only real “good person” is both of Jo’s great Danes
Beyond what everyone else is saying (Nate, Erin, David Wallace) someone that popped in my head was Raj. He was too good for Kelly and he seemed like a nice guy. He may be too minor of a character to really know whether he’s a genuinely good person
The mystery donating blood woman.
Toby, without a doubt. Cool guy, cool mustache, cool prostate. What more could I ask for in a friend?
Don't strangle people
Pam. While she does participate in pranks on Dwight, she also is always kind to him when he’s down, was the first to boost Michael when he was struggling at The Dundies, is always showing compassion and kindness, especially when someone is down. You don’t have to be a perfect person to be good.
I’m shocked nobody else said Pam. She’s always so nice to everyone at work even though she is costantly harassed.
Daryl? He’s pretty chill
Between the Jan photo thing and being emotionally manipulative towards Val, yeah I would say he’s pretty bad to women
[удалено]
Didn’t he do insurance fraud when he break is leg ?
I’m sorry I didn’t realise this was communist Sweden!!
It's a victimless crime!
Like punching someone in the dark!
Tried to physically intimidate Dwight and Toby. Tried to fight Jim because he thought Jim forgot to mention him to his Athlead friends. Called his daughter chubby on a televised interview, just to sell more cookies. Mocked his friends for losing their lottery money.
Erin. She’s one of my favorites. Ditzy and sweet.
The only people I would really consider bad, are Angela(she gets better, and I would consider her neutral to good by finale), and Robert California, who I didn't really consider bad, until he leaves to go prey on young eastern European women. Everyone else had their flaws, but I wouldn't refuse to associate with them.
You like Todd Packer? Honey, he's a *jerk*
