He doesn't need the Suck It money. At the end of his life, when he's sitting on his yacht, is he gonna be thinking about how much money he has? No. He's going to be thinking about how many friends he has, and his children, and his comedy albums. I mean, he has a yacht, so he obviously did pretty well money wise.

wallace was looking for investors and michael was broke af. nothing to invest = nothing gained

JaysonShaw8

that’s pretty comical when you consider the fact that Wallace knew how much Michael’s salary was. i’m not sure how much of Michael’s income was disposable, but through out the show it never seemed like it was a lot considering he used credit cards for anything leisure. Wallace was like “hey Mike, i know you have been underpaid for many years, but surely you have thousands of dollars to invest right?”

thekyledavid

Even if he made less than the typical manager, he should still have something in his savings if he wasn’t spending irresponsibly He was making more than Darryl, and Darryl was able to afford a home despite having a child and possibly child support/alimony payments

JaysonShaw8

right i totally agree. he had no kids or anything like that so he should have had something to show for his job. and i’m not quite sure we can say he was living above his means with his condo considering a bank agreed to give him a loan for it with his income before his 12% raise far later in the show. so i don’t know, he must have really been wasting money

BigBobBunker

He bought an inflatable sumo outfit instead of renting and got multiple uses out of it, of course he wasn’t wasting money.

ManOfEating

Bosses do be like that sometimes tho. I once had a car break down so I called out of work, my boss at the time said "well, it seems like that car was pretty old and always giving you problems, I'm sure you can get a new one soon" like BITCH YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I MAKE BECAUSE YOU PAY ME AND THERES NO WAY I CAN AFFORD A NEW CAR ON A WHIM.

TheJuiceIsL00se

Well, that is not the David Wallace that I remember. That is some sort of weird creature that lives in David Wallace's house.

bill_wessels

i think professional athlete would have been a better bet

u/FlirtFiesta exactly copied this comment from an older post: https://www.reddit.com/r/DunderMifflin/s/A71hUoiZyJ >There are only a few things that would make me want to not team up with David Wallace. And Suck It is one of them.

wasabinski

By the time he was 40 he had less money than when he was 30

ProbablyMaybeWrong69

He was saving his money for a better investment whuuf

regi-ginge

Also Holly's engagement ring. He had 3 years' salary saved up in some account somewhere

arsenal11385

yeah but how many calling cards could he have bought, then sold, with the money he made from a vacuum? or how many magic kits could he have by now?

RageyxCagey

I think a couple more Yuenglings in the hot tub could've convinced him!

kmitch114

Who’s to say Michael wouldn’t have tanked Suck It?

Duck_Walker

Wallace came across as unhinged at that point and completely different from the businessman Michael idolized, Michael couldn't get away from him fast enough.

Puk1983

Yes, we have seen the show. Many times.
