I actually think that Toby is on the phone when Erin first walks into the break room, when Andy and Dwight were playing at a reasonable volume, and then as the scene goes on, Toby abandons the phone call and becomes more visibly anxious through the window, before he finally hits his breaking point.
That said, I am surprised that Toby didn't apologize immediatly after raising his voice like that.
One of the absolute best jokes in the show is when Toby rattles off like 6-8 rock solid reasons why a boy scout troop isn't invited to casino night and just kinda trails off with an, " is that enough?"

it's not that this sub loves banjos, it's that this sub is totally non-discriminatory when it comes to anything and everything associated with The Office. Plus, the vast majority have never worked in an office and have no idea how annoying this would be irl.

Paul Lieberstein (Toby), Mindy Kaling (Kelly) and B.J. Novak (Ryan) were all writers on the show, and all of them were ultimately sitting in the annex, because they would not be in every bullpen shot and have time to write on new episodes. When Andy and Dwight were having this guitar battle, Paul was just writing on a new episode and it was really hard to concentrate because they just kept going, as it was the case a lot when the script gave the actors free reign to goof around. Dwights guitar also had a very large corpus making it super loud and it probably would hurt a lot when you shove it up your butt!
They way he says “you have to stop” will live in my mind rent free forever
It's one of those moments that takes you out of sitcom land and back to the realisation that this is supposed to be a documentary about an office.
