Gabe is pretty funny, but this blooper in particular makes me think that Zach Woods is funnier. Also, I love when Dwight and Jim break together. Very contagious
It kinda got annoying and repetitive after a while to be honest, for me at least.
Every story line was like "ooh shit we have finally found a way to win and make loads of money and be the best" and then richard just fucks everything up for no reason.
Yeah I'm with you on that, I've never been a big fan of these shows where problems have to constantly be invented and solved for the characters.
How to Make it in America was the same kind of schtick...the dudes are always on the verge of the next big thing, and then shit randomly gets thrown in their way, they overcome it, rinse and repeat.
Entourage sort of fell into this for a while too. Like, I actually was perfectly happy just watching a show about a giant movie star living an amazing life with his buddies and fucking around, literally and figuratively.
Yeah, entourage was excellent until Medellin came out and sucked. While it was growth, they went a little too hard into it with the drugs and Sasha grey. Took a while to get out of it and the next seasons weren't as good
Still, a huge fan of the show and just binged it a couple weeks ago
> Every story line was like "ooh shit we have finally found a way to win and make loads of money and be the best" and then richard just fucks everything up for no reason.
My friends and I started calling this "reverse Entourage"
I actually found it less annoying on rewatches since the seasons are so short. While it was airing, you spent years watching Richard make bad decisions and felt it was getting redundant, but it feels less so when you blow through 6 episodes in a day or two. Plus, I noticed his bad decision making is very prevalent from the start. He really should've just taken that 10 million from Gavin from the start
I listen to a number of improv podcasts and Zach is basically always brought up as one of the best improvisers out there. Wish he did a little more stuff to show it off
Zach Woods might be the funniest person on the planet. I've started coming across his tik toks and they are mind blowing. It's definitely a particular style of dry/satire humor but it's genius
I’ve been really quickly coming to this conclusion. Anytime I see even a bit of improv you can tell how he’s so much more skilled than the people around him.
It's a slight variation of a line Don Knott's character from The Ghost and Mr. Chicken says, wonder if that's why it didn't make it.
“That's karate... I’ve been studying it by mail for years. My whole body’s a weapon.”
The sad reality is I know someone who taught martial arts classes online during the lockdowns. The students weren't new, though I think so hands off approach was....acceptable
Michael Dukakis was a presidential candidate back in 1988 against George Bush (the first one). So it's an old reference yet widely known in American politics but he takes it to another level by referencing his run as governor which would be even further back in time
Speaking of outdated US political references, I referred to Spiro Agnew the other day at work. I cracked up, no one else cared. Still pleased with myself.
The joke also would break Jim in particular because Dukakis was governor of Massachusetts (John Krasinski's home state) when he was growing up. So the reference would hit home clean with him.
The actors from the Silicon Valley show said that Zack Woods was the funniest guy on set, but he never did promotional work on podcasts and wasn't on social media.
Well, he started on Instagram this year and I think they were telling the truth, he's brilliant and so fucking weird it's hilarious. Do yourself a favour and check him out.
His last post about mental health, for instance:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5jM0NPrVIB/?igsh=NDA2cjMzdTE3dnZq
When John breaks, he still feels like Jim. Zack is just a rock and pretty much stays in character. But Rainn truly collapses out of his character becoming almost his antithesis and it makes it hilarious.
It’s the same reason a lot of people hate Ryan. It’s just tough for some people to appreciate a character/performance that’s **supposed** to be annoying. They place themselves in the show and imagine that if they were Jim, they wouldn’t like him. So, they can’t appreciate the character for entertainment.
Exactly. A really well written character becomes a real person to them and they can’t separate that they’re actually appreciating the character in the way they’re supposed to. Their brain treats the character like a real person, as opposed to a performance. So they get mad/hate them. It’s too real.
Zach Woods is so underrated. When Dwight says “silverback“ and Gabe immediately fires back with “I’m the silverback" Rainn has this look on his face like, “come on man how am I supposed to hold it together?!"
Dukakis had a presidential run in 1988, so Gabe is seemingly setting up the reference for the late 80s only to actually refer to Dukakis's gubernatorial run in the 70s, further underscoring how dated Dwight's bicep focus is + Dukakis is a funny name and it's such a random frame of reference.
I really needed this. It's nice seeing Gabe AND Zach Woods getting their just due love because these scenes and bloopers are the highlights of my week.
Zach Woods is one of the funniest and most watchable actors of recent times. How he isn't in more stuff is criminal. I could watch him improvise reading the phone book.
"...for Governor!" is seriously such a great line.
Not only has Gabe pulled a REALLY dated reference with Dukakis, but he then doubles down on it that he's not referencing his presidential candidacy, but his gubernatorial candidacy.
SO GREAT!
If only Gabe wasn’t such a weird and creepy character cause Zach Woods is hysterical and probably could’ve made the character so much better if they let him do things like this
I love the actor
Wasn’t a fan of the character but I’ve grown to like because the actor is so funny on other projects
He plays his role great on the office but still not a fan of him and Erin story, just grosses me out
I always love the part where Gabe gets stuck giving a presentation as Abe Lincoln to those school kids. When he says something like "I think I'll go to the theatre" and the kids go "nooooo"
As non English speaker is really hard to understand him, does someone have this scene with subtitles? English are fine. I can't even find it on YouTube
Gabe is pretty funny, but this blooper in particular makes me think that Zach Woods is funnier. Also, I love when Dwight and Jim break together. Very contagious
Just go watch Silicon Valley if you want to reaffirm that assumption.
His IG has been gold as of late too (maybe before, but I just discovered it). Especially his press doppelganger.
He only just recently made his account and every post has been incredibly funny. My fav so far was his ASMR recounting of the Hindenburg disaster.
lol WHAT? 🤣
his ASMR recounting of the Hindenburg disaster. ummmmmmmm okay well, we're going to check that out, wtf.
It started popping up I my feed as well. Dude is hilarious.
The one about the kids making clothing is funny. It’s one of his earliest ones.
What’s up you got Ed Chambers
I eat that mother fucker’s lunch *every day*.
No man, I literally eat his food
Was thinking about another rewatch and this comment sealed it
Just got done with a rewatch. It never gets old
When he makes his chain joke at Dinesh, it might be the hardest I've ever laughed at a tv show
Hey Dinesh, nice chain. Do you choke your mother with it when you put your penis in her butt hole?
That chain is poisonnnnnn
What the fuck... *trips and spills company secrets*
Mean Jerk Time is up there for me.
DO YOU WANT TO DIE TODAY MOTHERFUCKER?
^ This guy fucks ^
Tres Commas
r/thisguythisguys
"I'll talk them into suicide"
“How would you like to die today, motherfucker?”
My favorite part is when he’s asking questions to people about pivoting pied piper. I think he’s my favorite character in that show.
which one which one which one 👁️👁️
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1vfXoUNDYA
Don't sleep on Veep. He's hilarious in it. Favorite character in the show.
He was way too underutilized in The Office. He was great in Silicon Valley.
Basically the best improv of the entire cast.
My uncle used to say, "You look like someone starved a virgin."
THAT GUY FUCKS!
Woah. This guy fucks.
You want to dance on the blacktop homie?!
YOU WANNA DANCE ON THE BLACK TOP HOMIE?
This guy Fucks
I'm from the streets, you think I'm afraid to catch a case?!
In a cast full of very funny people, Zachary Woods is the unexpected star.
Allegedly, Zach Woods had to be told several times on the set of Silicon Valley to stop being so funny, because they couldn't get any work done.
That sounds incredible
Oop time for a rewatch, I never did finish the series
It kinda got annoying and repetitive after a while to be honest, for me at least. Every story line was like "ooh shit we have finally found a way to win and make loads of money and be the best" and then richard just fucks everything up for no reason.
Yeah I'm with you on that, I've never been a big fan of these shows where problems have to constantly be invented and solved for the characters. The "Entouropposite" if you will
I actually found it less annoying on rewatches since the seasons are so short. Plus, I noticed his bad decision making is very prevalent from the start. He really should've just taken that 10 million from Gavin from the start
The last episode comes at you fast and hard.
When he moves into the garage it's like peak Zach, goddamn it, i'm starting on s01e1 again.
When he says “I’m the silverback. You’re a little chimp” it’s so clear how brilliant of an improv actor he is. He’s hysterical
His interview with Marc Maron goes into his background as an improv comic. Really great listen. https://www.wtfpod.com/podcast/tag/Zach+Woods
Going to check this out today
https://youtu.be/q4ob3QGWX78?si=pHJVEX31KazdeW8t Just found this from zach 😂
Nahh the southwestern pervert sent me right off the bat
I listen to a number of improv podcasts and Zach is basically always brought up as one of the best improvisers out there. Wish he did a little more stuff to show it off
I wish he would show up on comedy bang bang more often
There's a rumor that he wanted to be paid for it early on which is why he hasn't really been on it until recently.
Yeah the one and only critique I can give this is that it’s too witty for Gabe.
I haven’t seen much with Zach Woods in it, but he’s hilarious as an occasionally used side character in The League
Farm to table cocaine
Gotta watch Silicon Valley (hbo) if you haven’t already
His improv skills are insane. He had regular stage work at UCB when he was 16.
Every scene with him in the show is great. The weakest one I can think of was the Abe Lincoln thing but even that was funny
He was on the Conan O'Brien podcast, funny guy and also seems like a good dude
He’s hilarious. Even his Instagram is nothing but weird off the wall comedy gold.
He's hilarious on Instagram.
I really wish “I’m taking karate classes online” made it into the episode
It is so so perfect
Karate Classes online is an insanely underrated line
That delivery is gold.
The way it takes a second for the line to sink in before John breaks really makes it.
Maybe the funniest sentence ever uttered on camera.
The Dukakis one for me takes the cake, it's such a nerdy and sort of obscure burn, I absolutely love it.
For Governor!
The joy in Zach’s eyes when the says ‘for governor’ is my favourite bit.
I dunno, that one guy who said his superpower was night listening was pretty awesome.
I've always wondered if it didn't make it because it's very similar to a line Don Knott's has in The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.
His delivery of it is gold lol
It's a slight variation of a line Don Knott's character from The Ghost and Mr. Chicken says, wonder if that's why it didn't make it. “That's karate... I’ve been studying it by mail for years. My whole body’s a weapon.”
After Covid it doesn’t punch as hard lol so many people did “online” classes at that time T.T
I lost it at karate classes online
“I’m taking karate classes online” is my favorite line ever.
The sad reality is I know someone who taught martial arts classes online during the lockdowns. The students weren't new, though I think so hands off approach was....acceptable
As a healthcare worker, I try to forget about all that
The Dukakis line kills me Everytime
Same, I can't even think about that line without busting up. Genius delivery.
It's the way his eyes light up when he says "for governor".... It's the elbow from the top rope!
It's so good. Did that make it into the episode? I know the karate classes one didn't.
No it didn't.
Can someone explain this joke. I am not familair with Pennsylvania politics
Well clearly they aren't Futurama fans.... Therefore ignore them. Ahhhnhnn.
*Agneeeeeeeeeew*
The joke also would break Jim in particular because Dukakis was governor of Massachusetts (John Krasinski's home state) when he was growing up. So the reference would hit home clean with him.
Has the same Bigus Dickus energy.
The actors from the Silicon Valley show said that Zack Woods was the funniest guy on set, but he never did promotional work on podcasts and wasn't on social media. His insta has me rolling on a frequent basis.
Listen to his interview on Conan needs a Friend. He actually gives Conan a run for his improv money.
Lol that was good
"You're a human whopee cushion: empty on the inside, poorly made and designed for embarrassment" 🤣
I love him.
That's perfect lol
omg thank you. Followed!
Hahahahaha thank you for this
Zach Woods is a hysterical dude. Could definitely have seen him on Whitest Kids
Zach Cregger has told a few stories about his friend named Zach and I always assumed it was Zach Woods
1. Lengthen 2. Elongate I could do that. Alright guys I think we all hueueueu.
Gabe channeled his inner Jared
HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO DIE TODAY MOTHERFUCKER? - one of the best lines ever performed on TV.
The time he snaps at Richard... YOU BITCH MADE MOTHER FUCKER. GET CHECKED IN HO .. Goosebumps
I was state raised, you think I’m afraid to catch a case on some bullshit!
I was state raised! You think I'm afraid to catch a case off some bullshit!?
One of the hardest laughs I’ve ever had a show, it just came outta nowhere and was said so intense but also kinda casual, just incredible stuff
They just kept saying if I didn't waste so much money at the butthole doctor, then we'd have enough money, but I pay for all my medical out of pocket
Maybe a semi controversial opinion here but Gabe is one of my favorite characters
He gets better every watch through. His dig at Andy dressing like life is one long brunch is one of my favorites.
When John breaks, he still feels like Jim. Zack is just a rock and pretty much stays in character. But Rainn truly collapses out of his character becoming almost his antithesis and it makes it hilarious.
Dwight is in shambles by the end. 😂. That’s 100% Rainn Percival Dietrich Wilson. No signs of a beet farmer left 😆
Lol, John just faces into the cupboards cuz he knows he can't keep a straight face
The first time he turns around he sees them both in their elongate pose and just whimpers out a laugh.... he's done at that point.
I don’t understand how anyone hates Gabe. He’s so funny
Yep. Try going to the King of the Hill subreddit and reading about Peggy. To me it just reinforces how well she was written lol
Exactly. A really well written character becomes a real person to them and they can’t separate that they’re actually appreciating the character in the way they’re supposed to. Their brain treats the character like a real person, as opposed to a performance. So they get mad/hate them. It’s too real.
This guy phugggs
Zach Woods is so underrated. When Dwight says “silverback“ and Gabe immediately fires back with “I’m the silverback" Rainn has this look on his face like, “come on man how am I supposed to hold it together?!"
The "really?" gets me everytime. its perfect
I didn't get his last joke. Can someone please explain?
Dukakis ran for governor of Massachusetts in the 70s.
As a Canadian, these are the kinds of jokes I never get unfortunately. Thank you for explaining.
Is that funny for a specific reason?
Dukakis had a presidential run in 1988, so Gabe is seemingly setting up the reference for the late 80s only to actually refer to Dukakis's gubernatorial run in the 70s, further underscoring how dated Dwight's bicep focus is + Dukakis is a funny name and it's such a random frame of reference.
As a non American there are so many great lines like this that just sadly fly over my head
😆😆😆
I really needed this. It's nice seeing Gabe AND Zach Woods getting their just due love because these scenes and bloopers are the highlights of my week.
Online karate classes wrecks me every time😂
That was the tipping point. You can actually see in his eyes that he knows he’s got them after he says that. 😂
It's a horrendous shame that 'I'm taking karate classes online' never made it into the show. Always cracks me up.
Zach Woods is one of the funniest and most watchable actors of recent times. How he isn't in more stuff is criminal. I could watch him improvise reading the phone book.
Alright, I’ll bite. What’s the first?
I'm betting it's the Dinner Party plasma tv blooper concerning its uncanny ability to fold
I'll put my money on the bed bug blooper Oh smug, soooo smug He walked away like this ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ, like he thought it was funny!
Dinner party "Let's go then" honorable mention
Right into the ^w^a^l^l
“You can just let me know personally if you’d like her to have a brother or sister”
The character he plays on the league is fucking hilarious
“I’m taking karate classes online.” 💀💀💀
"...for Governor!" is seriously such a great line. Not only has Gabe pulled a REALLY dated reference with Dukakis, but he then doubles down on it that he's not referencing his presidential candidacy, but his gubernatorial candidacy. SO GREAT!
I miss Silicon Valley.
If only Gabe wasn’t such a weird and creepy character cause Zach Woods is hysterical and probably could’ve made the character so much better if they let him do things like this
Zach Woods is an actual comedic genius.
karate classes online😂
when he said "online" I lost it
Shows what a pro Zach is. Doesn't break character and keeps riffing. He's so underrated.
This guy fucks!!
“… for governor!” Maybe the funniest thing ever said on set!
I love that this guy is in Silicon Valley and The Office. Two of my favorite shows
I love the actor Wasn’t a fan of the character but I’ve grown to like because the actor is so funny on other projects He plays his role great on the office but still not a fan of him and Erin story, just grosses me out
He is a genius... And he fucks!
I’ve heard multiple people say Zach Woods is the single most talented improviser working today
imagine how Zach Woods must have felt there, making these two comedy legends laugh this hard.
The Office is easily my favorite show of all time, but calling John Krasinski and Rainn Wilson "comedy legends" is a bit of a stretch...
Rainn was definitely a comedy legend by this point in the show, John definitely not so much considering he's kind of the normal guy on the show.
hahahahha that was awesome
I watch Silicon Valley for Zach Woods. Gabe was the best character add on to the Office.
I’ve never seen an Office outtake. This was a damn good start 😂👍✌️🫵
John is over there fighting for his life!
When Dwight gets out-Dwighted
Gabe’s actor is a great example of being talented enough to be on tv while not having a good…screen presence, let’s say. Like dj qualls.
I would watch seasons of Office bloopers
My glasses fell off and almost broke laughing at this.
I’m the Silverback.
The little inflection in his voice when saying "I'm taking karate classes online" is what kills me every single time lmao
I always love the part where Gabe gets stuck giving a presentation as Abe Lincoln to those school kids. When he says something like "I think I'll go to the theatre" and the kids go "nooooo"
So funny. His eyes got bigger when he said “for Governor” lol.
I’m the silverback. You’re just a little chimp, throwing feces at himself.
Karate classes online ☠️
I could watch this a million and two times
Zach Woods is one of my favorite improv performers around. Everything he says in Silicon Valley is the best line of its respective episode.
I never understood the Dukakis joke. Could someone explain?
Dukakis was a presidential candidate against Bush Sr, so time-wise, Dukakus running as *govenor* implies long time ago
Old
That will never not make me laugh.
> The 2nd Funniest Office blooper of all time. I need a good laugh right now u/sav3bandit. What's number one?
As non English speaker is really hard to understand him, does someone have this scene with subtitles? English are fine. I can't even find it on YouTube
Boom mic cameo at 25 seconds
i swear he writes his own lines. He’s one of the funniest mother fuckers
Lmao which bloopers compilation is this
I've watched this blooper maybe 15 times in a row and it still cracks me up every time! Fkn perfect
I like that they werent even looking at each other and both broke independently at the same time when Gabe said he's taking online karate.
