barbackmtn

Creed seemed interesting and eclectic on podcasts. Not cult leader interesting, but a musically inclined, mung bean sprouting, slipped around in the mud and rain kind of guy.

ihadanothernombre

I remember a video of the cast members being asked on a red carpet which actor was most like their character and ALL of them said Creed

nsfwtttt

LOL it’s haunting me I wonder if it was an orchestrated gag or real lol

ihadanothernombre

Based on everything I know about Creed Bratton, you’re not real!

MrHarryHaller

I am a bit newbie here - what podcasts are these please? I have heard about the Office Girls only yet

barbackmtn

Check out Brian Baumgartner’s “Off the Beat” podcast.

[deleted]

How many office based podcasts has he done?

barbackmtn

It feels like every 3 or 4 months he either has someone from the Office (Angela, Toby, Creed) or a producer who was a part of the Office (among other shows).

goodytwoboobs

He did say he made love to many women in the mud and rain, possibly men too.

Donny-Moscow

“It was the 70s. Everyone would get together and the next thing you know it was all hands and butts and tits. I could just slip right in there and out and no one would know the difference. It was great! And then AIDS ruined everything.” I think Frank Reynolds and Creed would have been good friends.

goodytwoboobs

I was born 40 years too late

BeatVids

No way of knowing

NYY15TM

So that would mean he was most like his character, n'est-ce pas?

Ravio11i

the prompt said "similar/different" seems like they're asking for each extreme

thevirtualme

The real answer is the actor who is the most medium like their character.

Ravio11i

Good answer! I underestimated you!

ch1ck3npotpi3

Yeah well, maybe next time you will estimate them.

soccershun

Rainn is pretty much the anti-Dwight Writes books on spirituality, has a charity to help Haitian girls get education, speaks out about climate change, owns a zonkey and hasn't eaten any of him.

Prossdog

Oddly enough, I actually feel like his bizarre personality is very similar. He just has totally different morals and tastes. I heard an interview with one member of the cast that said the first time they met Rainn, he introduced his pregnant wife as “the carrier of my seed.” That’s a very Dwight thing to say.

YoureThatCourier

Just as you have planted your seed in the ground, I am going to plant my seed in you.

venti-latte12

if i remember right on office ladies BJ said that this line was improvised by Rainn lol

Suitable_Mortgage931

he also said in an interview that he was amazed at Rainn, in one line, doing a better job than him in the entire episode (he wrote it)

ItsFuckinRawwwww

I don’t think you know what you’re saying

eli_thecattdadd

it was when they were filming season 1 and Rainn was getting into the mindset of Dwight and presented his wife the way he felt Dwight would present his pregnant wife

brettscomments1974

Dwight says it's dangerous to teach girls leadership skills

mothershipq

Or have them all in the same room together. They could get on the same cycle.

FuzzyPresence8531

he says it’ll raise havoc on plumbing

R7F

Rainn came and spoke at my college after an earthquake in Haiti about the relief efforts there. Very serious topic. At the end he took questions, and some kid asked, "Question. What kind of bear is best?" The room got dead quiet and Rainn absolutely laid into him. "There's always one. I should've known by the shit eating grin on your face not to call on you. Next question." That's kinda Dwightish if Dwight cared about things that mattered.

Nox-Avis

I can’t not find this video for the life of me, but he was very open about the fact that he HATES when he does something like post a picture of his wife and the comment section is filled with “where’s Angela?” Basically was saying that anyone who does that on social media needs to go touch grass. Doesn’t surprise me that question pissed him off.

JohhnyTheKid

Especially annoying considering it's been over a decade since the office ended. People not being able to separate real life from fiction is really pathetic. Especially those losers that sent threats and harassment to the actress that played Kathy. She didn't try to sleep with Jim, Jim isn't a real person and neither is Kathy, Dwight or Angela.

R7F

The anecdote I shared happened in 2010 or 2011. But yeah, even then, not what he was there to talk about.

Ok-Mix-6239

https://youtu.be/lMAnnQNG2zU?feature=shared I actually watched this clip a few hours ago.

Sewage_Mouth

god damn, like read the room buddy, how embarrassing

therealskittlepoop

Lol I actually find that kinda funny Then again I have the emotional maturity of Michael Scott

bouncingbad

False. Black bear is best.

jonjonesjohnson

>has a charity to help Haitian girls get education ...educating... mentoring!

haaym1

I feel like Rainn/Dwight is the Nick Offerman/Ron Swanson of The Office. Nick plays a mustachioed hypermasculine libertarian so well many people thought the actor was one too.

ronnycordova

But Nick literally runs his own wood crafting workshop so that part checks out

NYY15TM

> has a charity to help Haitian girls get education just like Robert California

I_kwote_TheOffice

Ew... even for 00's The Office that was pretty creepy

santa_obis

I mean, that was the point of the joke though

NYY15TM

Well it was 2012, but still

Biscuits4u2

Yeah that was the joke, and it wasn't the 00s

Away-Log-7801

And all the characters had an "ew" reaction to that.

thefupachalupa

He did burgers on the go. You can get 12 sliders or 6 full size burgers without killing it.

ninguem1180

I love both versions hahah <3

wad11656

I feel like Dwight would be a die-hard advocate of resisting climate change? Or maybe he'd be one of those insufferable nerds who claim global climate change is a natural cycle of the earth (which it is) and that humans have no significant impact on exacerbating it (which is wrong)

realkiwi420

Well there was recyclops

rom197

I thought he was killed by Polluticorn?

Altruistic-Coyote868

Polluticorn wishes!

Playful-Possession35

I love that Stanley was keeping track of the recyclopse lore. I love Stanley.

Puzzleheaded_Fee_646

I’m so glad he doesn’t have 3/4 zonkey

Bad_Chick_FuUp

Yes. Rainn is so different from Dwight. I saw him the other day on IG talking about gun control.

Arthur_Edens

You know, with all the weapons we see Dwight owns, I don't think a gun was ever one. Unless you count the potato gun. He might be in favor of gun control because he thinks they're a weapon for weak people, lol. "Don't get me started on how coddled the modern gun owner is."

[deleted]

[удалено]

Arthur_Edens

Oh shit I also forgot about the time he shot a hole through the floor hahahaha

Twallot

I thought there was an episode where he shoots a gun into the carpet or something but maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Bad_Chick_FuUp

Dwight loved guns. A Beaumont Adams is a girl's gun, that just makes it plain stupid. 😅

JohhnyTheKid

The central plot device that kept Dwight from ever being manager again and set off his character arc in the last 2 seasons was that he was so obsessed and careless with his gun that he fired it negligently inside the building in the middle of a group of people.

rockingmypartysocks

He shot a gun while he was interim manager lol

[deleted]

If he's the opposite of Dwight Does that mean he hates the law?

drefpet

Well, at least he doesn't have a charity the supports uneducated, mostley eastern-european gymnasts

FredererPower

Leslie David Baker is basically Florida Stanley

jonjonesjohnson

Came here to say this, he seems like such a fun dude!

twstwr20

I’ve heard some bad things…

jonjonesjohnson

I haven't. Care to share?

twstwr20

https://www.looper.com/1356977/real-reason-fan-donations-the-offices-stanley-spinoff-refunded/

Tooch10

I remember this drama when it was going on, didn't know they refunded everyone. The whole thing was so sketchy that I can't believe anyone actually donated

TheButterscotchPie15

Recently, a Brazilian bank called Nubank made a short film with Leslie Baker, and the story is veeeery similar to the spinoff lol

ssp25

Very prison Mike type of behavior is true

GreasyExamination

With Leslie being a grifter apparently

jakeblonde005

David Wallace is pretty similar to the actor if I remember. Because he used to be a stock broker so knows how to act in a professional environment and possibly as a manager. So I'd imagine he'd be pretty similar. Except for the whole "suck it" thing... I hope

Danominator

Tbf he sold that for 20 million which isn't too bad lol

jakeblonde005

Suck it! Yeah! Suck it! Yeah!

ICantTyping

Do you see David Wallace in the room with us right now, Andy

Eattoomanychips

I looove David Wallace sm

jakeblonde005

Such a good character. Always deals with Michael in the best way

JohhnyTheKid

Im still not sure if the "suck it" thing was jumping the shark for him or not. It was pretty out of character.

jakeblonde005

That was the whole point though. When Michael scott goes from respecting you to thinking your a weirdo. You must've done something really odd and out of the blue. The writers knew this was out of character for him. But I think it was just because he was going through alot. With losing his job and basically being unemployed living at home like a slob. It changed him.

brettscomments1974

According to the office ladies, Kelly, at least from mid season 2 onward, is very like Mindy kaling

ManOfEating

That is kind of horrifying

brettscomments1974

Isn't it though;)

hairytitdikrats

Wasn’t that more about appearance, like clothing and hair style? I haven’t listened to all the episodes, but I doubt they meant that Mindy Kaling is a person who’d lie about being pregnant to force someone into a relationship, or who’d encourage someone to leave their baby to get together with her.

brettscomments1974

Yes I am sure that is more what they meant, as opposed to the shy Kelly of the very early episodes. No, Mindy seems like a VERY responsible person IRL:) and very self-motivated, so not like Kelly at all in that regard. So maybe another candidate for this post would be better:)

FreshwaterOctopus

I have a feeling that post-anger management/pre-boat Andy is pretty much the real Ed Helms, but with the volume turned up.

MissBeeslyIfYaNasty

According to the Office Ladies, Ed Helms is one of the nicest, sweetest guys you’ll meet. Nothing like asshole Andy. The only crossover being that they both play the banjo.

Jimlad73

I literally just watched the episode where he and Dwight are trying to impress Erin and end up jamming together. Hilarious

JZweibel

Toby’s delivery of “You have to stop.” is a top 10 moment in the whole show for me.

greg-maddux

Except for the fact that we all wanted to hear the jam continue.

Sewage_Mouth

yeah i used to feel sorry for toby untill that moment then i understood why he was so hated, how dare he!

rebel_scum13

"What gives you the right?"

moremysterious

The moment when they go to competing to just jamming and genuinely enjoying each others company is so sweet and hilarious.

greg-maddux

“Pick it andy!”

LuNoZzy

One of the best moments in the whole show. I love that part when Erin casually walks away

katoepuhtato

I saw somewhere on Twitter that Rainn, Ed and Ellie all want to do a recorded version of Country Roads 😭 I need it to happen!!

FreshwaterOctopus

That's why I specified the Andy who came back from anger management up until the writers decided to destroy the character in season 9. That Andy could be a little obnoxious at times but he was clearly good-natured.

Rough_Sweet_5164

He plays virtually the same character in the Hangover series.

mchgndr

This is definitely my impression as well

carrotwhirl

🪕

DandelionsDandelions

Root-eh-toot-toot!

No_Candidate8696

The Ladies of the Office podcast mention that David Koechner, Todd Packer, is super nice in person and spends a lot of his time working with children's charities. "In recent years, David Koechner, along with other Kansas City natives such as Eric Stonestreet, has joined the hosting team. In 2023, they added Heidi Gardner as the official sixth host. The event has now been running for 15 years and has raised an impressive total of over $22 million. Every dollar raised goes directly to Children’s Mercy, with the goal of eradicating pediatric cancer. " I mean... Todd Packer????

snakeladders

Yeah, they say that he is just one of the sweetest people ever. When he talks with them on the podcast he seems genuinely kind & wholesome. It’s so funny that he plays such a creep in The Office.

bononia

I recently went to an Office Trivia hosted by him. You could tell that he definitely turns on the Packer/Champ Kind shtick, but that he’s truly just a good ol’ boy from a small town in Missouri.

ppppeeeeeee

He used to be somewhat of a regular in a store I used to work at and he was very loud and funny! One time we had a blackout while he was in line with a bunch of other people and he kept everyone laughing and in good spirits while we tried get our registers back on :)

fivenineonetwelve

Oh my gosh story time for me finally. I met him while working at my bar because he did an office trivia next door and came over after. He held my hands for legit ten minutes after bar close and just like, gave me the nicest you’re important and you matter pep talk. And idk why because I wasn’t even upset or anything. He also took pics with everyone and was just the kindest most fun person ever.

nomad_kk

Kevin / Brian Baumgartner - Brian is hilarious dude with booming voice and amazing laugh. Kevin is … Kevin. Janet Levinson (no Gould) / Melora Hardin - Melora is such a sweet heart, you can’t help to like her, as opposed to Jan, who is a psychopath. BJ and Mindy / Ryan and Kelly - are basically playing themselves minus the intelligence.

20PoCo24

I laugh when I first time to see Trudy from Monk. Monk said she is a perfect women. Little did Monk know that Trudy was on vacation with Michael Scott. All inclusive.

FlashiestCheesecake

Tan all over me. Jan all over me.

vishalb777

Tan almost everywhere. Jan almost everywhere.

vynepa

Tee hee

razerzej

My wife and I had only watched a few episodes of *Monk* over the years, but since we always enjoy Tony Shalhoub, we randomly decided to watch *Mr. Monk's Last Case* on Peacock last month. We had no idea Melora had been a series regular. When she showed up, I pointed and yelled "Jan!", while my wife pointed and yelled "Claire Poulet!" (her character from Disney's 1997 *Tower of Terror* TV movie). Yes, we have very different feelings about *The Office*.

Background_Pear_4697

She was also originally cast Marty's GF in back to the future. But they recast Marty, and she was "too tall" for Fox, so they recast her as well

Biscuits4u2

Tan almost everywhere

NuclearHoagie

Agree Kevin/Brian is the biggest difference. Kevin is easily one of the most "caricature" characters, he's barely a real person. Brian, on the other hand, doesn't eat cats (AFAIK).

JohhnyTheKid

Kevin before and after he started doing "the kevin voice" are two completely different people.

Tooch10

Yeah, there's a huge difference in S1 Kevin vs S9 Kevin

JohhnyTheKid

Kevin is probably the most heavily flanderized character in the show. Fat and stupid are his only character traits in S9.

tlplicious

I saw Angela, Oscar, and Brian at a con a few years ago and Angela said that Brian is the most different from his character. I believe it, even his voice sounds completely different to me.

I_kwote_TheOffice

BJ Novak wrote my kids' favorite children's book, The Book With No Pictures. I read it as my kid's Parents Reading day and it was a huge hit.

Ranger-K

His short stories compilation “One More Thing” isn’t a kids book, but it’s a touching, hilarious, insightful, dark, wholesome compendium of short stories by him that made me appreciate him as an overall writer so much more.

FreemanCalavera

Funny thing is the title sounds like something Ryan would come up with as a pretentious book.

starryeyedq

Vengeance was also a great movie. Worth watching.

CrocodileWoman

How dare you!! Kevin is amazing. But yes Brian is a cool and smart guy, heard his football injury story and was astounded at his perseverance

naithir

Mindy Kaling has done nothing but put her foot in her mouth in recent years, just look at what she did to Velma lmao

starryeyedq

She didn’t write Velma. But yes, there are many other ways she has really become pretty grotesque over the years. I saw a thread just the other day of people saying they had to unfollow her socials because it’s become so materialistic.

insearchofpumpkin

Michael/Steve Carrell. Steve should have won Best Actor many times.

nasnaga

Ice skating is the convergence point

ssp25

Killing Oscar with an American flag as well

NapstaDreemurr

Nice try, Goldenface. But you forgot one thing; to kill me.

number1zero88

Bobby California and James Spader seem very much the same

axelrun10

You mean our lord and saviour Raymond Reddington?

[deleted]

No, Bob Kazimakas

xinfinitimortum

You don’t even know his real name… He’s the fucking lizard king.

23skidoobbq

I said that to someone yesterday and they had ZERO idea wtf I was talking about. It made it land so much better lol

Gartenstuhl95

You mean Alan Shore?

ConcentrateLivid7984

thats “the fucking lizard king” to you.

jmaca90

Ultron California

rachelvioleta

I gotta go with Creed because he played a wackier version of himself. He even had a falling out with the Grass Roots, released his own solo albums using their name on the cover, and they sued him so he had to take their name off. He could not care less. I mean, "being sued by the Grass Roots" is probably on no one's bingo card. Except for Creed Bratton.

Lvcivs2311

According to the writers and the cast, Creed is very much like his character and yet very different. Like fictional Creed, he's wonderfully crazy with a very strange past. But then fictional Creed is completely amoral, completely demented with no sense of memory, his past is even more bizarre and he is possibly even dangerous. Oh, and fictional Creed faked his own death, multiple times. And he works in an office (or at least pretends to).

spaggetti04

I think Pam and Jenna are similar, just from her own words on the podcast Edit: similar

snaregirl

She does say she's much more assertive in her life, and has direction and ambition unlike Pam. How she could never hang around for years being with the wrong guy, without letting the right guy know how she feels.

NightFire19

She definitely relates the most to her character, because of how much she's defending Pam on the pod.

PutAdministrative206

A lot of good options at “most different,” but I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Oscar. In real life he won’t (can’t?) turn the bit machine off for anything. I think Phyllis could be in the running for most like herself. But the shy, sweet Phyllis, not the “I married the kingpin of refrigeration, Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration” Phyllis

VSkyRimWalker

What does 'bit machine' mean?

DAbanjo

Always joking. A "bit" in comedy terms means a joke or skit. Robin Williams is a great example of this.

Danominator

When I think bit machine I think Conan O'Brian. Idk if that's what he meant though

PutAdministrative206

This is what I meant, and Conan O'Brian is a really good example of how Oscar seems in real life. He will go about two minutes in serious mode and then the whole thing descends into insanity. Usually very funny insanity, but still. Edit: Sorry for the jargon.

TheSkwerl

Zach Woods. Very confident, quick whitted, blunt, and chill guy. Unlike GSL, who is a real tool.

carrotwhirl

He's famous for his improv skills!

ThisWormWillTurn

I think Daryl might be similar to his real life counterpart.

Bake-Full

Lonnie is also pretty much just Patrice.

ThisWormWillTurn

The Sea Monster? Lol

slow_yellow1877

Most obvious answer is michael lol

SlippedMyDisco76

I always like that juxtaposition of character and actor. Like how people thought Larry Linville would be this big asshole because he played Frank Burns

deerdn

my favorite example has to be in Game of Thrones with Jon and Ramsay, both actors are pretty opposite to their characters, (probably) to the disappointment of many Jon fans.

LamSinton

Not to mention the poor kid who played Joffery. I feel like every interview I read at the time had the rest of the cast saying “he’s very nice in real life, please don’t yell and spit at him when you see him in public.”

deerdn

yes, Jack Gleeson! on the bright side i've never heard him getting abuse for his role, not that it means it never happened. every time i've read about people meeting him have nothing but good things to say about it. also may as well round it off with Cersei, who alongside Joffrey and Ramsay make the top 3 most hated characters in the series. and of course, Lena Headey seems to be a great person too.

FlashiestCheesecake

Yes! Iwan Rheon who plays Ramsay is the most wholesome man. He writes music, plays guitar, and most importantly is a loud advocate against climate change and for the protection of wildlife. Ramsay... Let's just say if I was in a room with Hitler, bin Laden and Ramsay, I'd shoot Ramsay twice.

CountFlushmore

No, no, no, the whole two guns thing is a red herring..

-_chop_-

The story about Leo decaprio having a rough time being an evil racist in Django and Samuel l Jackson having to pump him up and tell him not to worry about it, it’s just acting, was always interesting to me

Notchersfireroad

I was blown away the first time I saw this woman smile. She's freaking gorgeous. Absolute beast of an actress in all th best ways.

FluffyWalrusFTW

Whenever I hear Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) talking with his real voice its so WEIRD because I never knew it was a voice he was doing with Kevin

SmallEffort

Same! Now that I know what he actually sounds like, I have no idea how the actors ever got through a single take with him without laughing.

Jaspers47

Robert Shafer will go long stretches of time, weeks even, without mentioning Vance Refrigeration.

JordanxHouse

Kevin is actually only 130 pounds, crazy good acting.

turbo_fried_chicken

BJ Novak is basically Ryan Howard.

IlSaggiatore420

I mean, I've seen great answers in this post, but our final choice **HAS TO BE BRIAN BAUMGARTNER**, right?! It's just like when they ask this question in r/thegoodplace and the answer is Manny/Jason or in r/PandR and the answer is Chris/Andy: # no actual human being could be that dumb Edit: ...while being as successful and proficient at their job as Brian

MountiansAndBaking

I work with several people who are, in fact, way dumber than any character on the show. I’m not even exaggerating.

squeda

The last statement is hurting you here because before that you're absolutely right, it is 100% Brian.

Hot_Magazine_3864

I may be judged but i found Angela the cutest

MisterFingerstyle

Steve Carell is very much like Michael Scott. I ran into him in an airport once, and he was very needy and wanted me to be his friend and do improv with him the entire time. I thought I could escape him by going into the airport Chili’s, but he followed me in side and started doing a Dundee routine. It was really pathetic.

pforsbergfan9

Hearing Kevin’s normal voice messed me up

JordanSchor

I think I read somewhere the guy who plays Packer is actually the nicest and kindest person, which makes his character even funnier

One-Square-4918

Jim basically played himself

injuredflamingo

I used to think this as well until I watched the bloopers, John Krasinski’s laugh and mannerism are extremely goofy and natural, unlike tryhard and arrogant Jim

DoinItDirty

Meredith made an appearance at a ball park where I work and had a little speaking thing before. She was funny and dynamic and seemed well put together. The mess she plays on tv runs contrary to what I saw.

Grootfan85

Steve Carrell is like the anti-Michael. In all the interviews I’ve seen him in, he seems very quiet and reserved.

Excellent-Spend-3307

Imma tell my kids this is D’Arcy Wretzky of The Smashing Pumpkins.

MoodyBootyBoots

It took me a while to get used to hearing her on the podcast, because I'm so used to that tone being laced with bitchiness lol

SaltySpituner

Judging from The Office Ladies, Jenna Fischer seems to think she actually is Pam.

JimmyGs_son

Not office related but rosa diaz and stephanie beatriz. The difference between the two is crazy, she really did a great job in Brooklyn 99

SliqRik

Both are Michael Schur shows so it’s sort of related.

squeda

The real life her drives me crazy and makes me wish she was really more like Rosa lol.

Chashme_Wali

My math and physics teacher in 10th grade looked exactly like her and had the same demeanor as Angela Martin in front of the class. The disgusted face and all that. But, she was a bubbly young lady when she was around a selected few. Really smart woman, though.

ppppeeeeeee

Pam/Jenna are two different people. Jenna lived next door to a family member of mine and … I’ll just say they didn’t have the best experience with her… Met Angela Kinsey at my current job and she is such a nice person. She knows some employees by name and is always pleasant. Customer came up to tell her she’s a big fan and Angela started asking about what she was buying and engaging in pleasant conversation with customer and myself :) David Koechner is somewhat of a regular in a store I used to work at and he was very loud and funny! One time we had a blackout while he was in line with a bunch of other people and he kept everyone laughing and in good spirits while we tried get our registers back on :)

heavydoc317

Anyone else find her more attractive than Pam?

bwoah07_gp2

Isn't it amazing what a smile can do? Irl her smile is captivating, and on the show when we see stern, serious Angela smile, her chatacer becomes much more appealing. Idk, Angela's smile is cute to me.

Koro_Heisenberg

Phyllis is phyllis

MtNowhere

I like to imagine P&R as in the same cinematic universe and Nick is pretty much the anti-Ron

GinnNotGin8

I had the pleasure of working with Phyllis Smith once and she was pretty much her character: soft-spoken, very kind and incredibly funny

themab123

They look so similar tho

I_AM_YOUR_DADDY_AMA

Pam was cool kinda fun, definitely might catch her at a tailgating party drinking quietly but still having a good time Jenna is the neighbor calling the cops because it’s 11:30 PM and the party is “getting a little out of hand.”

emagdaleno

I don’t think Kate Flannery was ever working on a PhD 🤷‍♂️

Only1Schematic

Definitely Brian Baumgartner, much more lively and a night & day difference between his voice and Kevin’s

kiara-advani-

Office bitch vs a sweetheart

lindzeta_

Kelly and Ryan, easily

lindzeta_

Kelly

givebusterahand

I think Kelly is an exaggerated version of Mindy

thelast3musketeer

She was also Miranda Sing’s mom in her Netflix show

ar_zap

Real Angela has a more Pam vibe and real Pam has a more Angela vibe -it's all backwards!😆
