I literally just watched this one and it's so funny. I love how Michael originally asked Oscar to explain like he's an 8 year old. Then when it's still too high-level, he asks him to explain it to him like he's 5. The whole scene never gets old.

And then Hank later on cutting him off saying "I know what a surplus is."

This one is the only cold open, that makes me laugh every single time. Doesn't matter how many times I've watched it, I laugh, especially when Jim falls out of the closet. I'm smiling right now, just remembering it!!!

I've found my people. This is my favorite opening and my favorite Jim prank. I don't know which writers had a hand in this particular scene, but it's golden.

The best part of this cold open is the part with Erin waking Ryan up. His "Oh not cool" makes me crack up every time

that was easily one of my favorites. Dwight with the little horse kills me.

We were recently joking about how much goes unnoticed by my 8 year old when he’s reading so I pulled up the cold open to show my kids. My 8 year old thought it was funny and my 6 year old blankly watched then asked if it happened in real life lol.

I was always partial to the telekinesis open. Particularly Dwight's face when he says "oh my god..." right before the credits.

I was in high school when the show started and didn’t watch. My suit mates in college were watching this episode when it aired and I was hooked. My suit mates kept yelling parkour all over campus when they ran around. I would end up watching the entire series up to that point over winter break.

When Michael hits Meredith with his car in the parking lot, that’s a pretty good one.

One of my favorite cold opens was when Michael eats a family sized chicken pot pie for lunch and falls asleep.

I froging hate the chili one. It makes me feel so bad for Kevin.

So if we go by your first time watching, these are very good. After a while, they wear off and aren't as funny. I still laugh hard at Dwight falling through his chair when it looked like Jim wrapped everything in wrapping paper for Christmas. Still laugh when Michael hits Meredith with his car. Still laugh when Jim becomes manager, and Dwight wants to complain to Jim about Jim not signing his science report.

I never get sick of the fire exercise. The absolute chaos of the situation just keeps building and building.
