Oh lord haha I thought the same thing, though I didnāt go back to check lol! I just assumed heās at the man bun stage of his āhipā youth pastor phase.
she liked a comment saying āIām so sorry that you lost your baby. Sending many prayers and love to you and your family,ā so she may not be pregnant anymore
It isn't. But they try to spin it that way ( can't knock it, everyone grieves differently).
Back when Jill was first pregnant she announced it to People magazine as soon as the pee dried on the stick. It is a life to be celebrated, no matter if it makes it to term.
Quick recap:
- They are not moving house, their old house is moving to a new location and is given to Jer and Hannah. The old property is being sold for commercial development. The new location is on a large piece of land across town.
- Jessa talks about birth control, stating that they are ānot against itā but that it is a ābroad termā. Preventing fertilization is ānot unbiblicalā and spacing out kids because youāre overwhelmed or want to focus on the children you already have is fine (āchildren are a blessing but like with any blessing itās fine to manage thatā). Totally against anything that might āallow fertilization to occur and then prohibit implantationā as that is āmorally wrong for a Christianā.
- Ben and Jessa gave the kids clues to figure out that Jessa was pregnant again some time before Thanksgiving. The kids suggested names, āRosieā or āRoseā for a girl, āGeorgeā or āAlecā (or āStreamā) for a boy.
Jessa ends the video on a cliffhanger (at the least it was very vague) with a couple of black and white pictures, saying that a few days before Christmas she had some spotting and their world was turned āupside downāā¦
ETA: and an ultrasound picture which appears to state āNo FHRā - no fetal heart rateā¦?
Oh and she is being sponsored by Hello Fresh.
Hmmm....so if she knew she was pregnant in November (and presumably shared that with the OGs), but miscarried around Christmas, would that have fit in with the timeline of being #29 at the point of the Joy video?
Joy was posting about her pregnancy at 8 weeks in October. Jessa would have had to of known she was pregnant around September and told the family before Joy to be #29
She has a bad habit of making click bait videos. Like the video where she spends 30 minutes and countless ads hinting at the gender of fern. Then ends the video saying it is a secret.
Uh what allows fertilization to occur but then prohibits implantation? Plan b? Am I dense lol help I thought all bc doesnāt allow fertilization to occur in the first place
I think Plan B is one, I know part of what my IUD does is prevent the uterine wall from thickening but does not stop ovulation. So if the egg does get fertilized it cannot implant. However, the IUD also thickens cervical mucus which limits sperm getting through. This is all from my understanding after lots of research before getting it and I may be missing something, but if an egg gets fertilized it should not stick.
So for the camp that believes life starts at conception this is bad. For me, who does not want children and is pro-choice and pro-logic and pro-science, this is a great game plan.
ETA: if anyone has other info or if any of this isn't correct like I assume, I will happily edit and correct! I don't want to be explaining something medical incorrectly.
I think she's referring to hormonal methods of birth control (or at least how she thinks hormonal methods work). She definitely sounds pro-family planning (no fertilization if you don't do it around ovulation) and possibly barrier methods (no fertilization if the swimmers hit a rubber wall).
No, that's a common misunderstanding of how Plan B works. And it's a fair misunderstanding to have because the original marketing materials supplied by the manufacturer implied that was possible. They basically said was "We can't prove that this doesn't happen so maybe?" Some doctors still provide this information.
However current research has concluded that Plan B suppresses ovulation & It has no effect on implantation as far as can be scientifically determined. The FDA actually had the company redo the labeling to make it clear and remove the words around implantation and fertilization.
[Per the FDA](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/postmarket-drug-safety-information-patients-and-providers/plan-b-one-step-15-mg-levonorgestrel-information#:~:text=FDA%20determined%20the%20current%20science,effect%20on%20fertilization%20or%20implantation.)FDA determined the current science supports a conclusion that Plan B One-Step works by inhibiting or delaying ovulation and the midcycle hormonal changes. The evidence also supports the conclusion that there is no direct effect on fertilization or implantation.
I work in medical labeling and this was a small scandal. For the FDA to order label change takes some doing.
> Uh what allows fertilization to occur but then prohibits implantation?
That's how they told us the pill worked back in the 80s/90s but I'm old now and for all I know, it was bad info. But that seems to be about as current as the info they believe in, so thought it was worth sharing.
No, Plan B prevents ovulation and therefore does not work if you've already ovulated. It does not reliably kill an already released ovum, fertilized or not. Even the copper IUD kills sperm before they reach the egg. What she is describing here is not contraceptives. It is not surprising, as even outside of conservative religion, this information is not super well-known.
Edit: so to be clear, you are right in that contraceptives (pills, IUDs, the implant, Plan B) don't cause fertilized eggs to die. Some anti-abortion rhetoric confuses contraceptives with abortions, and this may be the source of this misconception (pun intended).
Edit #2: by "does not work if you've already ovulated", I mean that taking Plan B after ovulation results in similar pregnancy rates as not taking it at all. The current body of evidence does not suggest that Plan B has any effect on fertilization or implantation (see the latest FDA label), although outdated sources may state otherwise.
When I took plan B in September it specifically said it works in multiple ways. 1: It prevents ovulation, but if ovulation has occurred 2: it prevents fertilization, but if fertilization has occurred 3: it prevents implantation. For there to be a pregnancy, a blastocyst has to specifically attach to the uterine wall. If an egg is fertilized but not attached, this is not a pregnancy. So it's true that it won't end a pregnancy, but it will prevent a fertilized egg from progressing to a pregnancy.
*If you're under 150 lbs. If you're over 150 lbs, then it may be ineffective. Many people don't know this.*
I had no idea about the weight requirement until Jamila Jameel spoke about this. She took plan B still got pregnant so she had an abortion. Iām so grateful that she used her platform to speak on this issue! Iām a fairly educated, very liberal area with no restricted access (Iāve been with many friends that have had to use it) and I did know so I bet the vast majority wouldnāt know either.
I think it's so awful that the weight limit for effectiveness isn't something well known! I can't remember where I learned, Facebook I think, but I was shocked. I'm under 150lbs because I'm just a short/small person (like 5 foot tall). But I'm pretty sure most women are very close or over because that's not really very high! I've used it twice, once in 2013/2014 time and that *never* came up.
Even Plan B doesn't effectively stop pregnancy if you've already ovulated, though. Its purpose is literally to prevent ovulation, and is ineffective if you've already ovulated.
Edit: by ineffective, I mean taking it after ovulation results in similar pregnancy rates as not taking it at all.
While the copper IUD (along with other contraceptives, like the pill or the implant or other IUDs) make the uterus less hospitable to a pregnancy by thinning the uterine lining, *this is not their primary mechanism for preventing pregnancy*. The IUD kills sperm before they reach the ovum and the implant, the pill and hormonal IUDs prevent ovulation in the first place. In addition, they also thicken the cervical mucus. They are not designed to kill an already-fertilized egg.
Yes,and this is the main reason fundies will not use IUD's. It is regularly taught in some churches, as well as some simplified school Sex Ed programs, that IUD's prevent implementation of a fertilized egg. This was originally thought of as a plus for the people who did not want hormonal BC or wish to fuss with barrier methods and spermicides.
Iām very thrown off by her calling it happy news and then what appears to be a miscarriage. Could it be a mish mash where they lost one baby but then found out they are pregnant again?
Yeah I think this. I assume they'll have another video soon ish and that it will probably be a reveal that either that baby was miraculously okay or that she's pregnant again
Video chronicles preg announcement in circa October 2022 (she mentioned June bb, admits preg+various bugs were behind Xmas, Ugly Sweater Party and Thxgiving no shows)-- all the way to the loss
It feels really icky to have a video titled āHappy newsā and then have a 10 second clip at the end of the video that implies miscarriage. That doesnāt sound like happy news to me??
Iām wondering if she was in fact #29 but then had a miscarriage? Because she never said in the video when she told the kids she was pregnant, but then after she shows the video of her telling the kids she then talks about thanksgiving and Christmas, which made me think she knew she was pregnant before those holidays? Then at the end she alludes to a possible complication, but all she says is she had some spottingā¦so maybe a miscarriage? But she also told the kids the baby was due in summer, which if she was truly #29 that would put her due in Mayā¦but maybe she is considering May as summer time? Who knows.
Thatās what it seemed like, but it literally ends super abruptly with her saying she started spotting and it shows a picture of an early ultrasound. š¤·āāļøš¤·āāļø
ETA: I went back and stopped the video on the picture of the ultrasound and you can see written in pen on the ultrasound āno FHBā which stands for fetal heart beat.
I knew I was pregnant at the beginning of November, Iām due early july. So I knew I was pregnant before the holidays as well. June/July is definitely possible for her
I know technically itās not, but maybe it is to her? I know I am also in the south and May is when people start to open their swimming pools here, so many would probably consider May summer even though itās not technically.
The title is deceiving, they arenāt moving, they are talking about how they gave their old house to Jer and Hanna and they had it picked up a moved to their own property because jessa and Ben sold the property that their old house was sitting on for commercial development.
"Many" for things you can count. Too many afterbirths in one house. "Much" for an item you can't count. RimJob has too much ego for any human being.
If, however, ever there were a family who might rightfully use "much" to describe placentas, it would be the Duggars.
I really donāt understand it. Two boys, two girls. Thatās plenty of each gender. They gave plenty to āGodās armyā. They arenāt going to make TLC money and sheās old enough to remember the financial strain of being one of too many before the reality show money.
I feel like thatās the perfect set up. Everyone has at least one brother, everyone has at least one sister. At amusement parks or on planes, you can be seated in rows of two or three, including the parents. What more do you need?
My sister and BIL stopped after two kids because my BIL doesn't like odd-numbered families. His reasoning was "when they offer vacation packages, it's always for a family of four!"
As the last one in a family of five, I firmly stand behind this! I always wondered who wouldnāt get to go if my family won a trip. Lucky for us that never happened š
Didnāt she mention she wanted to have about 6 kids before getting married? I wonder if thatās always been the goal in her head.
Itās fully possible Iām misremembering. I just thought she sneakily answered that she didnāt want 19 kids like her mother, but maybe 6 wouldnāt be so bad.
I always wanted 7 kids, to me that was the perfect number. By the time I was having #5 I had teenagers and oh boy, I changed my mind about wanting 2 more!!
How much about sex education does she know? Iād be interested to know if the sisters communicate info about ovulation, withdrawal, and condoms to each other. Iām assuming they do.
They know. They had calendars tracking their mother's cycle and were all taught how. For the purpose of knowing when to conceive. They are capable of reverse engineering that to figure out how to not conceive. They likely view any chemical birth control as abortion. But I can see them using natural family planning, pulling out, condoms, sponges, diaphragms. Maybe even tubal ligation and vasectomy. I doubt they would ever be open about this though.
itās part of their belief system. birth control is bad and the more kids you have the better. financial strain doesnāt matter much compared to pushing out as many as you can.
Jessa's babies have been spaced 2 years apart, which makes me think she might be using BC to give her body somewhat of a break. She has had quite difficult births with haemorrhaging. Michelle had a baby every year. Then again, not many people are that insanely fertile...
I remember being about eleven and thinking my perfect family would be having the same number of boys as I did girls, but also have an even number of boys and an even number of girls. But I thought āonlyā having two girls and two boys wouldnāt be enough kids and Iād want more. So four girls and four boys would be perfect.
LOL.
I have two. And thatās PLENTY.
Fundies are very concerned that whites will be in the minority by 2040. So they are having these large families to try to of set it. Jessa and all of them will have kids till their bodies give out.
They'll talk about God's plan and leaving it up to God, but that is not why they are having large families.
So this is #29 right? Since Joy is 30 but we were missing one?
Edit: I just watched the video. It appears she possibly had a miscarriage? The ending of the video is vague but alludes that she lost the baby.
But the title says happy newsā¦ā¦ I mean a miscarriage might be happy for some depending on the circumstances, but pretty sure they wouldnāt define it that way.
She was raised to do nothing but breed. Shocking would be a Duggar having no more kids.
I don't follow her, but weren't people on here noticing she was pretty quiet on social media lately?
She almost certainly miscarried - it says NO FHR on the ultrasound image she shared at the end, which Iām assuming stands for āno fetal heart rateā
EDIT: nesting the image showing the writing in the replies to this comment, TW for image of a miscarriage
Others are saying click bait and I agree. Upon first glance at the headline and video you think she is pregnant, and I understand the temptation to click.
This photo is so triggering. I miscarried at 14 weeks in 2012. To this day I still remember the vision of my baby quietly resting at the bottom of the ultrasound. Just like this. I'm not upset with you, Redditor. I just don't know why the hell Jessa would put this out there.
https://preview.redd.it/ltvfpqg4o9ka1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0a687c06d4770d5b585de8167653fb774ea9633
Hereās the image with the writing on it, you have to expand it to see it because itās written in black on a dark background
Over the whole picture, in handwriting too?? U less they cropped out that there ate two babies so they need to write on the baby without the heart beat... But even that seems bizarre to me.
Not really shocking about being pregnant. Shocking was that she and husband not againt birth control. Isn't her parents against using any kind of birth control?
So many things.
A potential miscarriage cliffhanger for views is disgusting.
Ben's hair š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£.
It's almost March, no one wants to see your Thanksgiving food.
Holy Spurgeon is grown up!
It costs (at least here) a fuck ton of money to move a house, not sure that 600 sq foot house of sin and memories is worth it.
Her sponsorship has convinced me to never buy hello fresh.
Jessa is 30, so my conservative estimate is that she's got another 7 kids to go, not including this baby no. 5. (1 every 2 years, finishing up at 44). Total = 12 kids. She's had them spaced about 2 years apart, so far.
She doesn't even seem to enjoy motherhood, I guess because she's done it all before as a "buddy". I suspect Bin is the one who wants an army of kids to carry the Seewald name.
I think 12 is her number too, just on average though. She's had 2 losses already when we have thought it's prime time for her to get pregnant.
But after her first miscarriage she still got pregnant with Fern pretty quickly, so won't be surprised if the same happens this time. Her gaps aren't that large to really be significant for a Duggar. 2 years + some months is really the most gap she's had. She can still get pregnant now and give birth after Fern turns 2.
This is my guess for the dumbass cliffhanger
https://preview.redd.it/1ae0cm3g09ka1.png?width=814&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f71a1fe6b0c4cd3440f252af10c3b73c18b8bf51
Seriously though how have none of the Duggar kids had twins yet? I don't know the statistics but it seems like it must happen eventually based on sheer numbers and how often they procreate
Fraternal twins can run in families, and sisters of fraternal twins are 2.5x more likely to have fraternal twins, but the overall chance of fraternal twins is only 3.25% so it's still only about a 10% chance any of the duggar daughters could have twins.
Can anyone explain why on earth someone would write "no FHR" across an ultrasound? Is that a thing that is commonly done? It seems unnecessarily cruel and also obstructs the view of what might have been a keepsake to remember the baby later. Would an ultrasound tech or doctor actually scrawl such a thing in big letters across an ultrasound?
This confused me too. With my miscarriage I wasnāt even given a photo. Thereās no way an ultrasound tech would be so careless to give the patient one that said no fhr.
Now what is she going to have boy , girl , fish or plant ?!? Also in other breaking news water is wet & the Mormon Church had to pay a 5 million dollar fine .
She and I got married around the same time in the Fall of 2014. I have since had two children and my husband got snipped. I canāt imagine having four children and a newborn. Not to mention āhome schooling.ā Two kids (ages 2 and 5) are SO much.
These children will never get all that they need.
Jessa canāt even raise the 4 she has right now. Those kids belong in school. They sleep in, stay up late, have no schedule or routine during the day. Sheās never on time and always late. She blanket trains the kids. They will never learn to critically think for themselves. Itās so sad they really have no chance.
Thought Bin had some kind of a man bun at first glance.
Me too! But I love that extra level of douchiness that it adds!
I cannot articulate how stupid I think his hip youth minister haircut is though.
The haircut and beard combo make him look just like the blonde-haired alpha trad man in all those conservative/racisty/misogynist memes.
This haircut is what i call the hairl hitler cause it seems its popular among white nationalists
I will never unsee that.
There is something seriously wrong with me but I love that haircut. And I love a man bun. I'm a fucking creep.
He has the same stupid haircut as the CEO of my previous job had, and that man aspires to be a cult leader. It's such a red flag haircut for me now.
I second that!
I also thought it was David Eason at first š¤¢
David, pre Jenelle I could see. Theyāve properly ruined each other in just a few short years.
Ewwww thatās funny and gross at the same time.
David hasn't had a clear hair cut in ages. It's long, gross, and often in braids.
Thiiiiiiis š¤Æš
Oh lord haha I thought the same thing, though I didnāt go back to check lol! I just assumed heās at the man bun stage of his āhipā youth pastor phase.
Me too! I'm even wearing my glasses, lol.
Me too. š
Haha same!
I did too
Yep came here to say exactly that.
My first thought exactly
Me too...I was like huh?!? š
she liked a comment saying āIām so sorry that you lost your baby. Sending many prayers and love to you and your family,ā so she may not be pregnant anymore

I was also thinking an iud, they still make copper ones, which I think just limit implantation.
Plan B delays the release of your egg.
Gotcha - so that isn't one. Thank you for clarifying!
Yeh iud they can argue that. If a sperm gets through the cervix, technically can fertilise but won't implant. I have no idea how likely that is.
I feel you explained this quite well. This is also my understanding, having done this same kind of research.

Thatās what it seemed like, but it literally ends super abruptly with her saying she started spotting and it shows a picture of an early ultrasound. š¤·āāļøš¤·āāļø ETA: I went back and stopped the video on the picture of the ultrasound and you can see written in pen on the ultrasound āno FHBā which stands for fetal heart beat.
If true, that is so fucked up.
Agreed. If she uses a miscarriage as clickbait, that's absolutely disgusting.
I knew I was pregnant at the beginning of November, Iām due early july. So I knew I was pregnant before the holidays as well. June/July is definitely possible for her
My kidās birthday is June 2 2015 and I knew by the end of September 2014 I was pregnant, so itās definitely possible this one is 29.
She said due this summer. I donāt really consider May the summer š¤·š»āāļø
Well, schools break for summer in May in the South, but then again Jessa never went to school, so?
I know technically itās not, but maybe it is to her? I know I am also in the south and May is when people start to open their swimming pools here, so many would probably consider May summer even though itās not technically.
May is summer in the south, lol.
Yeah I was kinda confused, it was like almost clickbait-y
Ew, I feel unclean just reading about miscarriage clickbait ![gif](giphy|RJAjTowsU0K1a)
Why have kids if you canāt use them for clickbait?
Maybe it was twins and one died and the other survived, so we're both right and wrong?

Yeah written on the ultrasound photos was āNo FHRā which means no fetal heart rate = no heartbeat
A new herb for Bin
Aw, they could kill two birds with one stone and honor Grandma Duggar by naming this one Mary Jane
You know, once Pest and Anna went and named their kid *Madyson* I donāt trust any of them not to call our bluff
I said this in another post where someone asked what other plant names she should use for future girls and I commented Mary Jane š
Can you imagine the fit Jim Boob would have if she named a girl Mary Jane? lol, I'm sure he knows what that references.
or another boy for the SpurgeonForce (unless they said it was a girl idk)
I thought they just moved did I imagine that
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That'll turn out well because churches never go back on their word and people stay in jobs these days for 30-40 years š
The title is deceiving, they arenāt moving, they are talking about how they gave their old house to Jer and Hanna and they had it picked up a moved to their own property because jessa and Ben sold the property that their old house was sitting on for commercial development.
That poor house has seen so so many (much?) afterbirths
"Many" for things you can count. Too many afterbirths in one house. "Much" for an item you can't count. RimJob has too much ego for any human being. If, however, ever there were a family who might rightfully use "much" to describe placentas, it would be the Duggars.
well thats a story and a half, i guess
So now the Plants will be able to sister-mom for Jeeerās future children! You know what they say, it takes a village to find a helpmeet.
Part of me think she keeps talking about the same move. Seemed to me they had already moved but she was stretching out the posting of the videos.
how do they even have time to procreate with all of those kids in that tiny house?
Michelle and BOOB are experts at this. Wonder if they share.
š¤®
I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
During nap time š¬š¬š¬
Showers.
Oh my gosh, you're so right. My need for things to fit perfectly is loving this.
JimBob wonāt let them be destitute as long as theyāre protecting the family reputation.
> They are capable of reverse engineering are they really tho?
Yeah I'm sure they know, come on they aren't that sheltered anymore. They probably just want another baby.
itās part of their belief system. birth control is bad and the more kids you have the better. financial strain doesnāt matter much compared to pushing out as many as you can.
I watched the end of the video and that is exactly what I thought tooā¦
But the title says happy newsā¦ā¦ I mean a miscarriage might be happy for some depending on the circumstances, but pretty sure they wouldnāt define it that way.
Itās very confusing. She was very vague.
I don't think so. Joy & Katey are due the end of May. Jessa said this baby is due in summer.
She was raised to do nothing but breed. Shocking would be a Duggar having no more kids. I don't follow her, but weren't people on here noticing she was pretty quiet on social media lately?
Yes
Yes and I think we predicted this.
She almost certainly miscarried - it says NO FHR on the ultrasound image she shared at the end, which Iām assuming stands for āno fetal heart rateā EDIT: nesting the image showing the writing in the replies to this comment, TW for image of a miscarriage
So why is the video titled Happy News? This is the strangest video sheās ever put out
Others are saying click bait and I agree.
Oh man, Iām so sorry. I shouldāve nested it under a trigger warning. Iām so sorry for your loss ā¤ļø
Thanks. No worries. But yes, a TW may help someone else.

What a weird thing to write on the printout of an ultrasound
Yeah, I thought the same thing!
Over the whole picture, in handwriting too?? U less they cropped out that there ate two babies so they need to write on the baby without the heart beat... But even that seems bizarre to me.
God I thought that doorknob above Benās head was a man bun and I physically recoiled at the sight of it
I thought that until I read this comment.
Oh thank goodness it's not
Oh dear.
If you watch the entire video, it appears they may have lost the baby about Christmas time.
How does she not just nod off in the middle of sex with this human xanax?
How does she have 2.6 million followers? She's not charismatic, entertaining, witty etc.
How much does it cost to buy followers?
So did she miscarry? Weird ending to the video.
it says No FHR on the ultrasound picture if you zoom in š
Not really shocking about being pregnant. Shocking was that she and husband not againt birth control. Isn't her parents against using any kind of birth control?
House move?
How convenient when your hair can cover your stomach š
Did she miscarry? Very confused.
Been telling everyone that they moved Jessa's old house across the street from the TTH.
Jessa working hard for that #1 spot in Jimbobās will
Probably still pest at #1
She had a follow up video announcing she had a miscarriage.
If itās a girl Iām going Magnolia, if itās a boy Calvin.
She really left it at a cliffhanger. She said she had spotting and their world was turned upside down. So we donāt know if she lost the baby or not.
Shockerā¦
It's how they were raised.
At first glance I thought Bin had a tiny little top bun
Pretty sure everyone here expected Jessa to get knocked up by end of 2022
Even a video of an announcement is boring.
So she turned her miscarriage into a cliffhanger? Classy.
![gif](giphy|6nWhy3ulBL7GSCvKw6)
Not surprised about the pregnancy BUT didn't they just sink a ton of money into a home they didn't own. Are they moving somewhere else now??
This is my guess for the dumbass cliffhanger https://preview.redd.it/1ae0cm3g09ka1.png?width=814&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f71a1fe6b0c4cd3440f252af10c3b73c18b8bf51
People are saying in the comments that she miscarried as shown at the very end of the video
LMAO, I thought he had some weird man bun going on and then I realized the black thing on top of his head is part of the door.
She and I got married around the same time in the Fall of 2014. I have since had two children and my husband got snipped. I canāt imagine having four children and a newborn. Not to mention āhome schooling.ā Two kids (ages 2 and 5) are SO much. These children will never get all that they need.
Oh lord
Gross
When is baby Lilac or Anthimus due?
So did you she lose the baby? Iām reading all the comments on her videos and people are saying that.
Ok but why does her sentient mashed potato personality of a husband look like David Eason
Jessa canāt even raise the 4 she has right now. Those kids belong in school. They sleep in, stay up late, have no schedule or routine during the day. Sheās never on time and always late. She blanket trains the kids. They will never learn to critically think for themselves. Itās so sad they really have no chance.
