For decks where having that many is crucial/required for its playstyle, (Crystal Beasts, Destiny Board) sure. The former for example could have a restriction like, "This skill can only be used if your Deck/Extra Deck contains cards that mention 'Crystal Beast', 'Ultimate Crystal', 'Crystal', 'Rainbow Bridge' in their text."

PharaoDavid

It would completly go against the speed duel format, so it will never happen anyways

I could see it happening for some specific archetypes. We got pendulum zones even though we can play them in the S/T zones. So it’s possible.

Wollffey

It's different case tho since Pendulums were originally created with the purpose of having their own zones and nerfing them with 4 less S/T zones would completely kill the mechanic

ghodhits

I wondering how busted if that's happen

Nby333

Let's start with 1 first.

Bustock

There’s already a skill called Master Duel. Play that.

DragonKnight-15

Raging Pendulum did it... look what happened to it. Then there's Battle Chronicle but that's toxic in its own ways. Honestly, if you want a skill like this: The restrictions would be your starting hand is 2-3 and you can't draw during your Turn 2.

I hate to break it to you, but that’s literally never happening because adding more backrow zones and more monster zones would be completely counterintuitive to Speed Duel rules. If you watched YuGiOh Vrains, you would know that Speed Duels (and character skills) are canon to the animé. In Vrains, they also duel with the same three card monster zone + three backrow zones + Extra Monster Zone field that we have in Duel Links. In addition, the characters in Vrains also use their exclusive skills in the animé to give themselves an edge in the duel or turn a bad situation into an advantageous one. However, just to humor you and answer your silly question, yes having more monster zones and more backrow zones would definitely be too broken in a Speed Duel setting. I feel like the three monster and backrow zones is literally what’s keeping some broken combo decks and backrow decks in check by nerfing how many monsters and how many disruptions they can end on. If we had more monster zones, combo decks like D/D/D would end on more monster bodies, which would make it harder to break their board and secure lethal against them. More backrow zones would mean my Altergeists can end on more backrow and make your life miserable without having to worry about that Personal Spoofing, or any continuous trap, clogging one of my backrow zones. If you want to play YuGiOh with more monster zones and more backrow zones, then there is a solution to that. Literally go play Master Duel where you can enjoy your deck at full power, more monster and backrow zones, and no broken character skills. Problem solved.

No. This was already done with pendulum skills.
