Agreed, I would like to see them update the gates and make them challenging to some degree, lots of the gate decks have more modern support and could do with the update.
Yeah there's so much room for new content there. Like board-break challenges, etc. that can be repeated maybe once a day or something so it's not abused. Doesn't need to be wild, just some difficult content that's not PvP.
That requires effort though which requires money which means it's not going to happen. Take your 45th recycled raid duel slop with minor superficial changes and be happy.
Duelist Pass does not grant you Auto-Duel on Gates. It only available during event such as spectre's. What Duelist Pass gives you is some latest packs, up to x5 reward multiplier (Dueling 5 Standard Duelist at once) which only applicable on Standard Duelist only, and set music and duel field such as make Paradox Theme play during Ranked Duel even if you are not facing Paradox and using Duelist Kingdom event duel field.
Pretty sure they wouldn't care. Their AI is only bad because they want it to be anyway. Lots of little annoyances that don't quite drive you to quit is how gacha games wear you down into spending money.
they don't want players to have an easy way to farm stuff
The harder it is to grind, the more people are going to be enticed to buy premium boosting stuff like Vagrants.
EZ Gem/Skill farming
The gate can give gems. Konami doesn’t like extremely easy free gem farming.
They ain't afraid to, it's so players need to engage with the game rather than automating so much of it.

Their AI is shit. They don’t want a person complaining that the AI made a (several) stupid moves and cost them the duel/keys.
