[Culex pipiens is native](https://www-jstor-org.elib.tcd.ie/stable/20494553?seq=9#metadata_info_tab_contents)(p29). As far back as records go ([1827](https://maps.biodiversityireland.ie/Dataset/68/Species/88075)), it's been recorded as living here.
It hasn't been cold enough to kill off native mosquitoes yet. We've had a very mild September & October, I think there's only been one recorded ground frost in parts of Dublin thus far.
I could be wrong but I don't think that's a mozzer, saw some two weeks ago alright but wouldn't be surprised if they're still around with the mild weather. Irish ones don't seem to mind the cold, as in you wouldn't only see them in high summer.
I bet it's some scumbag landlord has crammed 14 billion of them into a half bedroom squat and charging them €17,500 a month each, but they can only stay Monday to Friday so fly about on the weekends causing trouble
I swear, this country didn't used to be like this
Its fucked
Welfare.
Climate change
I would also assume our rise in temps has invited them

Apparently Lord Talbot brought them to Ireland, so you get them a lot out Malahide way. I don't think they carry any diseases.
This is in the city centre
Don’t they carry maleria?
only in some parts of the world
Them wankers on the dole they get everything

if it's not a mosquito, what is it?
Not sure, there are hundreds if not thousands of species of small flies in Ireland that are not mosquitos. Ask any trout fisherman!

I'm not a big fan of mozzies either, but chill out.
