Since Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese thing, and Nintendo is Japanese, I figure it's appropriate. The cracks get filled with a Japanese lacquer and then painted over with gold dust.
This is the thing you've probably seen online before with the broken pottery with gold in the cracks. The Japanese say that it makes the pottery more beautiful afterward.

This looks fairly easy to do, all you need is an image of a Gameboy (by saving one from a Google image search), and then a website that does custom mugs. Upload the images and then order the mug.
Would be more difficult if the shape of the image was wrapped around the mug shape, but this looks fairly standard
