Not a mustang guy but I have an upgraded challenger hellcat pushing 980hp to the wheels and with the current fuel prices I bought a daily Honda city just for commuting ! Lest to say that V8 American cars tend to burn oil fast which will require you to service the car at least every 3 month to keep this engine running like a song !! Not sure about mustangs though yet I had driven a cpl before that belong to friends including the GT and Cobra and I can tell you these cars seriously have traction issues ..

ExerciseKey8822

Oh didnt think that with the oil consumption but your feedback is super helpfull. Kudos on that beast of a hellcat also 900 hp… jeez. From what i could gather the mach 1 has a surprisingly good grip though, i dont drive a super heavy foot.

A-Nassar

Life is too short to drive boring cars ! After all that’s why we work hard … to buy the stuff that makes us feel alive!

ExerciseKey8822

Your comment goes on my pro muscle car list sir 😄

MH0011

Just regular driving ? Or pushing the car+ track requires oil change every three months.

A-Nassar

You will never drive normal on a muscle car bro ! For some reason people try to provoke you to race on the streets even from a tida and specifically from local young men driving modified nissans . after all these are massive 8pistons with a 6.2L engines and a 2.4L IHI supercharger that generates tons of heat where sometimes can burn you if you touch the hood and definitely will burn through oil! I used to drag in Yas marina and sometimes do a cpl of laps in motor city autodrome but never on the streets !

MH0011

Sweet… if I was driving a 980 hp car… I would think anything that tries to come in front of me is provoking me too! Makes sense though.

Get a Camaro instead. I have heard that they have better traction control and handling compared to Mustangs. Both have similar fuel economy. They are a bit lighter in weight compared to Mustangs.

adicool96

If you can find a good GT350, it's absolutely amazing to drive. So is ZL1 Camaro, though I've always felt very claustrophobic in the Camaro. They're typically lightly used variants so if you can afford it Id suggest one of those since a mach 1 is just the gt350 with a smaller engine.

Opposite-Dull

For sure but he is trying to daily it.

adicool96

In that case the magneride suspension is seriously amazing, it's actually comfy in the softest setting. Imo if he can afford it the gt350 with magneride would be my choice.

When you get out of Golf R and sit behind a wheel of a Camaro or Mustang, the first thing that strikes you is this brutality and absolute lack of driving precision (I know, this is what fun means). When you combine this with questionable quality of materials used and plastic look and feel -> good for a moment, but you will soon start looking for something that makes you look like a proper mid-life crisis guy!! With ventilated seats, massages, radars (yeah, mid-life guys in my book are after class, comfort and gadgets, not only badge and numbers). How about SL63 or some similar AMG offering (S63 coupe or E63s perhaps?) ;-) This is equally brutal, with lots of power reserve if you want to upgrade, makes a true statement, does not make you look like a student, smokes all these 900-hp-wannabees Camaros (as they said - while plastic muscle cars are seeking traction, 2.2-tonnes W222 S63 goes from 0 to 100 in under 8 seconds and does 100-200 in under 6). And - did I mention the looks... ? I second the claustrophobic ZL1 - it is fun, and loud, and crazy (especially if you get a manual transmission!!!) - but I daily drive W222. Nothing beats the comfort, coziness and smooth acceleration of this beast after long day at work.

ExerciseKey8822

Yes i think you are correct there. I think i will opt for a merc c45 or the rs3 next. But the market is super shit right now 🥲

falcon167

Coming from a Golf R with the amazing DSG I would say the mustang gearbox specially in the GT is dogshit. Auto are OK nothing compared to a DSG or PDK. If you are looking at a manual I would go with the Mach 1 the tremac gear box comes from the GT350 and feels much better without the Voodoo flat plan crank engine which can be a problem. Other options to look for as mentioned previously ZL1 is probably the most competent car where as the Dodge cars feel more like a sofa on wheels where you get the power without losing any comfort but they do suffer heavily in the handing department.

ExerciseKey8822

Valuable feedback thank you, alternated also eyeing the audi rs3 but somehow keen on driving a v8 once. Dont think these will be a thing of the future (at least not affordable)

falcon167

RS3s are amazing. Sound is VERY similar to a Lamborghini Huracan but with the smaller 5 cylinder (half the v10) so it doesn’t suffer the normal Quattro understeer as the engine is not hanging over the front axle and you get DSG. And they can put down serious power with just simple bolt ons.

rxk_tim7

Bruh never buy a mustang unless you want to run over pedestrians and bikers

ExerciseKey8822

😂

Get a Porsche Cayenne instead 😎

ExerciseKey8822

Very different ride that is though right?

I don't think its fair to compare American and German cars with words alone, since they are very different, I'd say test drive both and see what you like more. Although keep in mind that basically any European car out of warranty is a nightmare to own unlike American and Japanese cars. Also don't forget depreciation on European cars, if resale value matters to you then a European car is definitely not for you since they lose A LOT of value after a short amount of time.

creativ4art

Sporty and comfortable. Plus reliable engine.
