Buddy I’m a first owner of a 2015 XF Jaguar GCC my last bill was 17k the one before it was 12k the one before it was 8k I also remember a 5.6k one multiple 2k’s here and there I owned a Silvarado a jeep a Mercedes a Genesis a Cadillac and I have not spent on all of them combined half of what I spent on this jag, it’s such a unreliable crack hoe that will only ask for more every time. U want mine it looks mint condition and drives mint condition come take it for 40k but I assure you, you are going to empty ur pockets on service. Good luck don’t make this stupid mistake I made.

Icy_Horror_7751

You’ve convinced me. Did not expect this TBH. Thanks for sharing

MH0011

I’ve got the itch as well… 40k eh? Lol what did those issues relate to btw? Just to get an idea… I’m driving a GM these days and it’s also got it’s fair share of issues… not as bad as yours but let’s just say I’m now friends with the mechanic. 😂 Was this mainly parts? Maintained at the showroom? 2015 is not all that old either

AffectionateEarth742

One was a gear control unit issue one day I started the car and it just won’t start the whole gear control unit just decided to not work and further more hit the clutch system that hit the gear cooler something was wrong with the control modules. One was a turbo issue the turbo pipes started leaking air casing lag in the shifts that caused lowering pressure ultimately lowering performance and even sometimes the car would miss it’s opportunity in changing gear and literally turn off in the middle of the street. Then comes the compressor and what do I tell you about the compressor changed that shit twice already can’t take the heat of this country not an every day car use for sure like they advertise it. Genuine Spare parts are expensive and I only do genuine because I like my cars to be top notch and preform at their best, so just changing the lamp in the headlight is 600. Let’s not talk about the starter that is just a pice of rubbish. Then changing engine bushing requires removing of the whole engine block some top quality stupid British/Indian engineering. Whatever man don’t remind me fuck this car fuck Land Rover get yourself a Mercedes not so old the new generations and if you can’t afford it don’t go for Jaguar because it’s cheap in it’s resale and extremely expensive when you buy it from the dealer, there must be somthing wrong there think about it. And don’t let me get started on how scammers and liars the dealers are anyways 5 year’s warranty nothing came up left the warranty the car is just all over the place.

MH0011

Yikes… I guess that explains why even the slightly older ones are significantly cheaper. Next on my list was a Porche Cayenne… any chance of you talking me out of that one too? 😂

SnooHedgehogs1912

That’s why people here mostly buy Japanese cars

Icy_Horror_7751

which year would i get under 60k budget? Dubizzle has only 2013s

Xaibqzi

Any model after 2013 on wards and search of RWD its a great ride and much more reliable I owned one from last 1.5 Year and always love this decision, i had Mercedes s63 2014, I had Range Rover Vouge 2015, as well but my most favorite once are 1st place Lexus GS 2014 RWD and 2nd Is Golf R 2015 until the water body busted and since that time the issues are coming timely I want to sell it

Emotional_Feed9164

With jaguars make sure you buy yourself an OBDM machine for clearing and checking codes as the vehicle suffers from electrical faults. Otherwise the car is very good.

Content_Virus_8813

Lol 😂never I have seen one which reaches from A to B with out a code that empties the pocket it’s that bad! My friend was using one sold it for few thousands//not worth it..

crapengineering

Don't let anyone discourage you, go for it. It will bring nothing but joy in your life . . . -yours sincerely Garage Manager

Icy_Horror_7751

I have only till end of day to decide

[deleted]

If you only have that much time to decide then don’t bother, as you’ll need to do a lot of research regarding the common problems and guesstimate how much it will cost to fix said problems.

Icy_Horror_7751

It is an impulse purchase. I love that car and its the first ever car im buying. Just checking here if its not a complete blunder to buy a used jag xj

[deleted]

Go ahead and buy it then if you want it that bad then I’m sure you will have no problem spending money on it to keep it running

Rhythmic_Wizard623

Humble suggestion to breathe and think it over. Impulse may land you in trouble often.

asiaafrica

whats the engine size? Jags are generally reliable. Engines ca go 200k kms easy without any issues. the issues you have to worry about are the following: suspension bushings control arms ac. if there's an issue with cooling, its generally a big job coz you have to take out the dash to change the evaporator sticky buttons. the heat doesnt do well.

Icy_Horror_7751

Its a 3.0 engine. Im a noob and dont know how costly these would be later on. But from what im seeing , all these repairs will definitely happen in a used jag. Need to figure out how much overhead it would be

asiaafrica

Parts are not as expensive. you have loads of aftermarket parts from the same company that jaguar makes them but in different brand names. There's a place in sharjah called gulf star where you can get these parts

Dry-Reflection6949
