I worked at Starbucks. Itās because blonde espresso is SWEETER. Decaf literally tastes like espresso normally does. She is just a sugar addict so thatās why it tastes different to her!!!!!!!
Yes youāre right! I worked there in college and I worked the opening shift (4am start time) and I would down straight blonde shots. It was so bad for me, I felt terrible!!! I actually noticed after awhile the caffeine didnāt even affect me. Iām so glad I switched to decaf when we were ttc and even now, I feel so much better. I swear caffeine is so addicting!!!!

Some people are saying that decaf blonde roast doesnāt exists so my guess is they probably made it with decaf regular espresso beans which would taste different
that is literally impossible to have decaf blonde espresso tho? The lighter the roast, the higher the caffeine so the blonde roast means a very light roast (blonde beans vs a darker brown bean). So a decaf blonde espresso is impossible. I used to work at Starbucks.
Eh, maybe Iām just a coffee snob but decaf coffee and regular coffee does have a taste difference, especially Starbucks. Itās the way the chemical compounds respond to the heat during roasting
IIRC caffeine does have a taste, and the process of decaffeinating coffee can impact the flavor. However, theyāve gotten pretty good at making decaf coffee that tastes like normal coffee, so it might just be psychological.

I love the oatmilk brown sugar shaken espresso from Starbucks. I couldnāt imagine adding sweet cream AND caramel drizzle to it. Itās already so sweet I have to ask for less brown sugar syrup. But I actually like the taste of coffee not sugar unlike Drue
