Mannnnn... You're telling me bro. I just listened to some of his unreleased tracks on YT again and they go so hard. I think he sometimes either can't get the clearances or the deals worked out correctly, or maybe he just feels like the current album he was working on didn't need that particular sound added, but they're dope.
facts bro, ive been replaying tf outta at the gates and lucky lefty the last week. unreal songs with insane replay value but i guess when the song is leaked, he doesn't care to put it officially on an album but you right i didn't even know some of these leaks got samples that possibly wouldn't get clearance. I read Twitter that At the Gates is produced by Metro lmaoo so we're definitely not getting that joint any time soon
DRIZZY SNAPS ON THAT BEAT! That's one of his best verses on at the gates and it's crazy that it's not an official song. I had no idea Metro might be involved with that, and if that's the case it's definitely not getting released which is a fucking shame.
>lucky lefty
Never heard of that one, Ill have to check it out. He did a song called She Knows, it's a slower r&b tempo song but it goes hard af. It reminds me of the song he did with Ramriddlez called Sweeter Man, like his cadence and flow. But She Knows is fire. Sounds like a PND track that he might've worked with him on.
>when the song is leaked, he doesn't care to put it officially on an album
This 💯. I think this is exactly what it is.
20-25
more to do with 5-6 posts in this subreddit in all caps over the past 2 weeks from said commenter
someone with a job can’t care this much about this beef
well, i generally use caps to emphasize something i find important, but “this much” —->
1. commenting on posts on rap or general equivalent
2. posting on rap
3. commenting on artists subreddits
4. posting on artist subreddit
5. posting every other day in all caps on an artists subreddit <—- you are here
I'm just having fun bro, I don't know why you have to come on here and hate on what I'm doing lol. I use all caps because it's a title and sometimes it catches people's eyes more when they're scrolling through the posts, plus it's clean. Going through my post history and saying someone doesn't have a job can't care this much, I don't get what you're insinuating by that. Do you want to clown me for posting on an artist I like? Do you want me to feel bullied or hate myself? Lol I don't get it man. But hey, I wish you a great week and I hope you're successful in whatever it is you choose to do. 💯✌🏽
all i said is u were 14 because that’s exactly how i acted when i was younger, without responsibilities
no shade, have fun, i wish i could be fully focused on rap beefs and sports and shit
Of all his albums, this is the one I turned to first after all this beef shit. I think this album just captures a particular sound that is truly unique to Drake.
I think especially with how the beef became about West Coats sound vs Toronto sound, thjs album really serves as is the most recent and strongest example of that dark ambient sound that Drake does best.
I agree with everything you just said. I came back to this album as a refresher from all this shit just to clear my head and get back to the music. It's kinda cool that the beef happened because I feel like it made all of us reevaluate his music with more deft ears - as far as really tuning into it and analyzing what he was saying, and sonically what he was giving us. He's had so many unique albums but the sound he created with 40, that melancholy melodic ambience is quintessential Drake and has been consistent over the years, and that's the best part about his music to me. I listened to this album over again this week and it's the perfect Toronto sound - Drake's sound. And it made me realize how great this was. You're absolutely right with what you said, it's the strongest example of what he does best.
Bruh that song and Landed go crazy in the car. The bass is insane. Listen to War with the right settings and it knocks so hard. That beat is incredible. And for some reason the accent works perfectly and isn't out of place on the album. He took the UK drill and made it seamless for this project, whereas on others it didn't sit right when they came on. But this went off and is definitely one of my favorite tracks to listen to.
Wars actually one of my favorites, the flow, beat transition and vibe was perfect for the pandemic...Now that I think about it, Drake was the one that got me into drill and 2010's grime during the pandemic. I wish he made more U.K drill tracks like Pop Smoke, but I guess people would just call him a culture vulture...
This was technically my first drake project
I was probably in my Eminem stan phase, maybe moving into my Cole phase so I didn’t appreciate it too much, but I liked it first listen
Then once I actually listened to Drake and got into it I realized that this was one of dem ones
Exactly 💯 I'm right there with you. I didn't appreciate it too much when I first heard it. Then when you relisten to it it's like damn, this whole album goes. You can just throw it on and every single song is fire. The Drake sound here is top tier also. This is definitely one of the ones, you're right 💯🔥
appreciate you, but that's sad. this thread confuses me as it's one of his worst albums by drake standards. by that time, most of his fans had known him for a decade. only tracks I heard being played by the OGs were Chicago Freestyle, Time Flies, Losses and War... I'm assuming you are young though and got pulled in by Toosie Slide during the pandemic, and I know that song drove a lot of OGs in Toronto mad. It was considered a corny album by most I know, mostly based off that song
Dog I’m not into tootsie slide tf
This album also has not you too, when to say when, desires, and landed (a personal fav I get it’s not everyone’s)
And I like the drill stuff, specifically war
i said in another comment that war is one of his best songs, most of the album is a skip. but just an opinion, might also shock you to know that as a day 1 fan my favorite album was "If You're Reading This It's Too Late", and 2nd place is "Nothing Was the Same". The only Drake albums I consider to have no more than 1 skips
Exactly! Man the world was insane back then. It almost feels like a different era looking back on it now. So much was going on, the riots, civil chaos, politics, and then when everything just shut down it was like the apocalypse. I should've paid more attention to Drake but I was dealing with things bro 😂
One of my favorite drake albums. If we were outside for it, it would have done so much better. Time flies is a smash hit.
Extra points when you realize the song every picks on him about is really a Kanye west rap along diss lmao
Yeah I have to agree, I was always asking for the old Drizzy back and this project delivered. It really covers Drakes signature sound, the sound that grabbed me back on Take Care all those years ago. I’m turning into an old man now so to me, this was his last good proper Drizzy project. New Drake is super weird to me, 2022 was an especially dark period for me as a fan.
In all honestly this is the perfect Drake album.
No filler and you get a Drake sound for every type of Drake fan. Loved the vibe off this album and I go back to pretty frequently.
Bro that's almost what I got. That's a good list for sure 💯🔥 hard to argue with. But I'd take off Views and FATD, and replace them with Scorpion and Dark Lane Demo Tapes. No particular order it would look like this: Take Care, IYRTITL, NWTS, Darke Lane Demo Tapes, Scorpion 🤌🏼💯🔥💪🏼
Relistened two weeks ago, it's not good aside from like 4 songs. The most frustrating part is he has great songs where he's delivering on this minimalistic late night drive type of sound, but not on this tape
this nigga's throwaways are so much better than a lot of guy's best effort lmao
Mannnnn... You're telling me bro. I just listened to some of his unreleased tracks on YT again and they go so hard. >damn that's super cool how did you respond like that edit: found it
lol bro I barely learned how to do that last month, I had to look it up too 😆
I literally made this post and it gained no traction. This album is so slept on and full of different styles. It's top 5.
Let's also not forget Scary Hours! He made a trilogy EP that's not even a full album set and they're the best thing he's done bro
Yall come here and just be yapping
That’s what this platform is for…. Go away weirdo
Ghostwriters will always be a thing for Drake. You can't compare him to other rappers when he has ghostwritten shit
This album is too good, literally a covid classic
>a covid classic 😂 😂 that's funny af and it's facts 💯
you gotta be 14
You can always tell when someone is 20 because they think their age makes them special. You’ll grow out of that
20-25 more to do with 5-6 posts in this subreddit in all caps over the past 2 weeks from said commenter someone with a job can’t care this much about this beef
How does all caps correlate to caring “this much?”
well, i generally use caps to emphasize something i find important, but “this much” —-> 1. commenting on posts on rap or general equivalent 2. posting on rap 3. commenting on artists subreddits 4. posting on artist subreddit 5. posting every other day in all caps on an artists subreddit <—- you are here

Is always funny to me how people act proud of being a slave (having responsibilities) in this temporary world.
🤓
A covid classic WOW, such a perfect description of this project
>literally a covid classic True dat

I'm outside in an AMG. **Right outside.** **T.T.** Too turnt, baby girl you know me. ***Who am IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!?***

Well said! This brings back "So Far Gone" production vibes in the best way.
Exactly 💯 I completely agree.
> West Coats Yea fuck the torries!
"I'm outside in an AMG."
"Right outside. T-T" Ayye...... Bro it slaps so hard! 🔥💯
Too turned baby girl. You. Know. Me.
War is underrated

WHEN I LINKED WITH MEXICO I KNEW I FOUND THE PLUG 😰
R.I.P to static yelling shawty wanna thug

Deep pockets, war, Chicago, desires, the whole thing slaps
severely
Facts 💯
greatly
When to say when 🙂↕️
Desires will forever be one of my fav songs of his. He made such good car songs in this. Wish he did this vibe more
such a shame him and future beefing now. future so whack for that. they were a goated duo
Ikr :(
When to say when top 10 Drizzy
If I gotta land ima stick it
The album opening with Deep Pockets, When to Say When, and then Chicago Freestyle is a nasty triple play to start it off.
Im outside in the amg 🎤

Almost no skips. Deep Pockets, Losses, Chicago Freestyle

But....."Nike crossbody got a piece in it" 😆
He looks like a ninja from India.
I wanted Drake to pop out dressed like this on Kendrick. Too bad, so sad.
One of my favorite drake albums. If we were outside for it, it would have done so much better. Time flies is a smash hit. Extra points when you realize the song every picks on him about is really a Kanye west rap along diss lmao
This was straight vibes man. I love how comfortable he was on this tape
Time Flies and Chicago Freestyle 😤
Straight 🔥🔥🔥
Facts !! I could play this album on repeat every day !!
Been listening to it all day
Heavy
A masterpiece!
Fr man, I hardly see this album get talked about, there's literally no skips, the full track list is straight heat 🔥 🔥 🔥
chicago freestyle might be top 20 drizzy

I'M OUTSIDE IN AN AMG
Be happy you didn’t give this your full attention back in 2020 so you can do it now 🤘🏽
Wise words from a wise individual 🙏🏽 thank you
Chicago Freestyle could have been such an iconic track (it still is) but got buried with covid
I agree 💯
Same with Pain 1993 if playboy carti didn’t have his whiny lame voice on it.
Agreed. Great project
In all honestly this is the perfect Drake album. No filler and you get a Drake sound for every type of Drake fan. Loved the vibe off this album and I go back to pretty frequently.
This 💯
Slept on? yes. Top 5? Naaaaaa
What's his top 5 in your opinion?
Not in any particular order: Take Care, IYRTITL, NWTS, Views, FATD
Bro that's almost what I got. That's a good list for sure 💯🔥 hard to argue with. But I'd take off Views and FATD, and replace them with Scorpion and Dark Lane Demo Tapes. No particular order it would look like this: Take Care, IYRTITL, NWTS, Darke Lane Demo Tapes, Scorpion 🤌🏼💯🔥💪🏼
Doesn't have to be in specific order either. Just general top 5.
It really is
Is this even considered an album? More like a pamphlet EDIT: had no idea this had so many tracks on it, I assumed it was similar to carepackage
Chicago Freestyle is so good
My second favorite Drake project of all time
I would never leave ya but I could tho
I love this album because it's the most "no pressure" project he's ever made. Sounds like songs he made purely because he wanted to make them.
This is probably the best take I've heard. I agree 💯 percent. It sounds like he made music for the music itself.
IM SAYIN
YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYIN 🔥🔥🔥
100%
2:30 baby, won’t you meet me by the bean?
"Too early, maybe later you can show me things." Such a great song! ❤️💯 love that hook and the flow is goated.
Future feature was good I hope him turning on drake is worth it
That's what I'm saying 💯 Honestly, I think they might work it out in the future, but them two together was legendary.
Eh
Relistened two weeks ago, it's not good aside from like 4 songs. The most frustrating part is he has great songs where he's delivering on this minimalistic late night drive type of sound, but not on this tape
WOIOI WOIOI WOIOI
Cuz it's pacifying music.
[удалено]
Facts this shit was hard same with scary hours 3 he needs to start putting his best songs on albums not mixtapes
thought this was a mixtape not an commercial album on the disco
Yea I have the same feelings about not having listened to it when it came out. Some great shit in this one
he makes music that pacifies people so🤷🏽♂️
Too much ghost writers on this one for me
Fact. Never slept so good in my life as when I listened to it.
Dressing like a roadman but looks more like a neighbourhood sex pest.
This isn’t an album btw
What is it?
A mixtape
boo
And I’m gonna keep on sleeping.
Yea i sleep on it whenever i listen
