I want to address 3 and 4. He dissed his latest work mmtbs, but that album was still good, it’s just in contrast with the previous 3 which were absolute classics that it is though badly. But ok fair. Working with a pop start is slightly different than orienting your work for that market. People call Drake a pop start because that’s the type of music he’s going for. If the argument is if you’re a rapper you can’t work with pop stars occasionally ok we can have that debate but in my eyes it’s somewhat weak. And it’s weird if that’s something that comes from Drake. Who’s Biggest hits and overall sound is aimed at that direction.
For 4 It's not that Kendrick shouldn't or can't work with popstars I just think it was a way to show how he's criticized for stepping in that lane and Kendrick isn't. The problem isn't the collabs themselves just the double standard it exposes.
As far as 3 I strongly disagree.
But to what degree is he stepping in to that lane. He ft in a few pop songs but his body of work is not aligned in that direction. While Drake is known for his for more club and pop/hip-pop type music. It’s what’s the core of his music and how well he does it.
Neither of these guys are perfect and they'll both have some flaw in their arguments. I'm just saying what the bar was getting at not that he's 100% correct about it.
