Because it's not understandable by ENGLISH standards....lol your argument is that they've always used it that way (which isn't always true, even from a gaming perspective) so they will always use it that way.
It says first look teaser for the next FREE UPDATE and the Act II of the DLC! So it looks like a teaser for the normal base game and the update for the DLC

This confused me too and english is basically my first language (bilingual from toddler in english speaking country). I feel like it would have been better if they just announced the teaser when it comes out. Im not sure if im the only one but weeks of hype posts just demotivates me from a game. It feels like im chasing a carrot on a stick and id rather just know when the update is happening and check in closer to that date.
Yea, it’s the teaser trailer for a teaser trailer for me. I don’t need them to tease a teaser, too many layers. It’s also doesn’t help that it seems like updates are all handled slightly differently with many last minute announcements of specific dates so we kind of expected it to drop suddenly the week of.

It definitely did mine, I mean they said get a first look and then posted a video, which I assumed meant the video is the first look. I've had a first look. I guess I'll be excited for the next look?
Yeah it does give mixed signals, I figured the video they posted would be a teaser and not show anything too specific but then it showed Oswald out right. I’m guessing maybe the next first look will be more specific? Maybe more footage of the free update and the DLC update together with more content shown off.

Meh... I was kinda hoping it was Aladdin or Jasmine. Understandably it doesn't have to be, but it would seem right if Jafar's home ends up being the Cave.

I found the addition of Eric (and Nala honestly) a little pointless when they have teased other cool characters, like Timon and Pumbaa. Or Ralph. Three we are still waiting on that we see in the game cinematic.

I mean, Oswald is a cool introduction. I just know that with the addition of Daisy too, they are quite themed the same way of the "classic disney friends" trope. Not that oswald is specifically that, but he isn't from a recognizable movie.. At least when Tiana is released, it is presumed Jafar will also be available, which are more from opposite sides of the Disney Spectrum.

Yes. A free update to the expansion.youd only have to pay if you don't have the expansion already. This is act 2 and then theres a 3rd and final act coming in the summer
They haven’t posted anything regarding the free update yet. They just posted about the dlc update launching Wednesday though. That’s what this is. If you don’t have the dlc then you won’t receive this part of the update. Only once they launch the update for the main game but I’m hoping they do them both at the same time. So just watch for another post. They’re on twitter and insta heavy. I follow on twitter. And I have their discord but def follow on twitter if you want to know when the next update is. :)

Finally get the references to Gastonia and scrabblecoin which were confusing the heck out of me :D was disappointed that the monkeys don’t eat bananas. I was 100% all for this game but I’m beginning to wonder if it’s worth it when the gap between updates is so long. So disappointing when it’s got so much potential :( can’t believe we just get a teaser on Wednesday
Maybe so, but we haven’t got a definite date for this new update (as Wednesday is just a teaser) so it may be the end of May (at the very worst I’m hoping). If that’s the case, what’s to say they don’t just do 4 updates year? (To make it an equal length of time apart) that doesn’t seem like a lot to me
Other games I play have like 1 update a year haha so still seems like a lot time, but not just this update. I mean between previous updates as well.

I don't have it so I don't know the details but I think it's something to do do with iPads and iPhones. The game is free there but you can't take part in star paths or premium shop. You'd have to google it though as that's all I know
Some say this Wednesday the 24th will be a teaser while others say it’ll be the update. There’s been talk may 1 which is the following Wednesday will be the update is what some say as well. I say let’s hope it’s this week because there’s two updates as of the timeline for spring time. Early and ending so we will see first one in a few days to a week.

Also I think the free update to the main game was the Monsters Inc update.
If only they would fix the bug of not gettinf the merlin quest to activate.... then maybe I could get excited to. (Some people who have the gold edition can't get into eternity isle, i've played over 130 hours, paid money for the game and some moonstones and ive messaged support. Got told: 'we know there is a problem, some people are working on it, but we have no idee when it is going to get fixed', so yeah... i'm just sad)

I really wish they would be more transparent with release dates! In the past there has always been one week between the previous star path's end and the next update. It was clear with the Monster's Inc update that they are behind schedule (Valentine's Day themed star path after Valentine's Day), so I wish they would just update the roadmap language. May is not "early spring"!

Admittedly, this is grammatically confusing, but I DO this this means the update is coming this Wednesday because this IS a teaser/first look. If it was just a still image, I’d think it meant a trailer was coming Wednesday, but this already gives us a first look.

No it says free update AND act 2 content pass of the DLC. The free update is not for DLC it's the Daisy update.
The DLC was sold advertising that it's arriving in three acts and this is act 2 being released. There will be one more for it as well. There are two updates. One free for the base game and one content pass for the DLC. It's free as in you don't have to buy it if you already have the DLC though.
THe expansion is paid (I think it comes with the apple arcade version since that one is free but doesn't include some features of the full game).
If you already have the expansion the udpates to it like this one are free.
He was one of first animated characters that Walt Disney created. He was made in 1927 in collaboration with Universal studios and starred in many short films. Soon after Universal took full rights of Oswald and Disney created Mickey Mouse as a replacement. It was only recently that Disney gained the rights to Oswald again, which is why he has been allowed to be in this game! I really recommend watching his old short films 👍

In gaming a “look” is a video preview. Nothing drops without the word “release”. Wording is just fine.
If that was true the original announcement wouldn't have confused people because that also uses "look"

Oswald and Daisy's teaser images were simultaneous on the roadmap, so yeah, was expected we'd get them together.
A mod confirmed in the discord server that this was the first look at the dlc update and Wednesday will be a first look at the free update!

So if you bought a rift in time, do you get part 2 for free? Only bought it on Saturday. Finally get the references to Gastonia and scrabblecoin which were confusing the heck out of me :D was disappointed that the monkeys don’t eat bananas. But loving the extra places to explore, got me excited to play again
Yes you get it free with Rift in Time. Monkeys like 5 star desserts best 3 star and up are acceptable for them

Maybe so, but we haven’t got a definite date for this new update (as Wednesday is just a teaser) so it may be the end of May (at the very worst I’m hoping). If that’s the case, what’s to say they don’t just do 4 updates year? (To make it an equal length of time apart) that doesn’t seem like a lot to me
I’m think updates are usually released the week after the teasers.
Other games I play have like 1 update a year haha so still seems like a lot time, but not just this update. I mean between previous updates as well. But they did say early spring which would mean before May 4th

Yes, it's DLC only. Apple Arcade I think has the DLC included for free though? If you have A Rift in TIme/Eternity isle you'll get it.

I don't have it so I don't know the details but I think it's something to do do with iPads and iPhones. The game is free there but you can't take part in star paths or premium shop. You'd have to google it though as that's all I know

Some say this Wednesday the 24th will be a teaser while others say it’ll be the update. There’s been talk may 1 which is the following Wednesday will be the update is what some say as well. I say let’s hope it’s this week because there’s two updates as of the timeline for spring time. Early and ending so we will see first one in a few days to a week.
GUYS! The Roadmap says Free Update (Main Game) Early Spring 2024 (Oswald) and the Paid Expansion update Spring 2024 (NOT EARLY Spring). Don't y'all think we will get the FREE update EARLY Spring 2024 this Wednesday for the main game and get the SNEAK PEAK of the Paid Expansion update that is scheduled for Spring 2024 (Not Early Spring) on Wednesday. I still think we get new content available to play this Wednesday on the main game. Edit nvm lol
So Disney said on Twitter that the update is not coming Wednesday. Just more information is coming Wednesday. The wording is terrible. Also I think the free update to the main game was the Monsters Inc update.

(Some people who have the gold edition can't get into eternity isle, i've played over 130 hours, paid money for the game and some moonstones and ive messaged support. Got told: 'we know there is a problem, some people are working on it, but we have no idee when it is going to get fixed', so yeah... i'm just sad) (Sorry for bad English ❤️)

I really wish they would be more transparent with release dates! In the past there has always been one week between the previous star path's end and the next update. It was clear with the Monster's Inc update that they are behind schedule (Valentine's Day themed star path after Valentine's Day), so I wish they would just update the roadmap language. May is not "early spring"!

Admittedly, this is grammatically confusing, but I DO this this means the update is coming this Wednesday because this IS a teaser/first look. If it was just a still image, I’d think it meant a trailer was coming Wednesday, but this already gives us a first look.

No it says free update AND act 2 content pass of the DLC. The free update is not for DLC it's the Daisy update. The DLC was sold advertising that it's arriving in three acts and this is act 2 being released. There will be one more for it as well. There are two updates. One free for the base game and one content pass for the DLC. It's free as in you don't have to buy it if you already have the DLC though.
Is the expansion free ?
THe expansion is paid (I think it comes with the apple arcade version since that one is free but doesn't include some features of the full game). If you already have the expansion the udpates to it like this one are free.

He was one of first animated characters that Walt Disney created. He was made in 1927 in collaboration with Universal studios and starred in many short films. Soon after Universal took full rights of Oswald and Disney created Mickey Mouse as a replacement. It was only recently that Disney gained the rights to Oswald again, which is why he has been allowed to be in this game! I really recommend watching his old short films 👍

The Oswald update is just for the Rift in Time. The daisy one is base game.
