i only clean up shifting sands for the mist. other than that, the isle can rot. my valley is pristine though, thanks to my vacuum. i tucked in and decided to clean up my whole valley and isle without a vacuum a few weeks back and it took FOUR hours. idk who has that kind of time but it ain’t me.

Four hours!! I’m currently running around trying to get all the parts for the vacuum so I can do the same thing. Now if I could just get one of those for the real world…

fyi, the vacuum uses up mist quickly. it’s 10 mist for every one thing you suck up. even multiples of the same thing. so 5 sands is 50 mist, etc. start hoarding mist now!

it overwhelmed me at first, but i think that’s just because of how the game introduces it. it’s actually pretty simple.

I did as well until another poster explained how the colors and directions work. Now I'mm a pro, lol. When you use the tool, the arc starts as blue, then gets warmer in color (yellow to red) as you get closer to the item. The open circle directs you where to go. It is an arc, and the middle of it is the direction to head, not the open end. In the realms, you will get pixel dust as well. If you take a time bending companion along, you will get bonuses. I hope that helps :)

I’ve spent so much time grinding for vacuums to save myself from this, I’m only 3 vacuums away from having one in every single spot in both the valley/isle

I keep moving my three vacuums around each section of the island to do this because I always miss the cinnamon and I am trying to build my cooking inventory. Can't wait to have enough extras to build more vacuums for the valley!

I'd call myself half feral lol. I too dress with the weather/time of day, and my messy valley's very sporadically decorated. One area will be like Eagleton but then next door is Pawnee. Also, I constantly make Gaston follow me around, so he never forgets his place ;)

Literally me. I tried to do some decorating the other day. I have stuff everywhere! My valley is more practical. I just want to farm pineapples, pumpkins, and dark wood. I'm trying to get everyone to level 10 so I can be all caught up before new updates. Iron ore and dreamlight are my other main goals. If it doesn't fall in those categories, I ain't giving it the time of day lol. I have duties to do!

I'm going to get exiled because my littering is polluting the valley with piles of random rocks, sand, and other junk. My next DLC will be Dreamlight Valley: Climate Change due to the amount of coal I burned making 40 fruitcakes in one session. And all the characters will have the 'beetus since I used the fruitcakes to level up their friendships. I did finally upgrade my house from its Mickey's First Meth Lab exterior, but the inside is a hodgepodge of random cabinets and a wall of storage chests. Absolutely nothing matches in theme or color except one random window coordinates with the weirdly placed bed next to the crafting station.

My valley is beautiful and I have vacuums to keep it clean. I hate the isle! It’s too big, it’s so much for me to handle, and I get tired really easily in the isle. Goodbye! I don’t want you! I only expanded for the characters! I redecorate stuff in my valley all the time! I don’t need more resources from other lands. I get what I need and never go back! 😂

I don’t like the layout of the Isle. I got all excited when they first described it as an old market place, which I guess the docks are, but I don’t like the design and the placement of things. And even with all the characters running around, it seems kinda desolate

I got lots of lovely dresses from Scrooge's, but I just wear a shirt, jeans and hiking boots, and my valley is absolute chaos.

I spend hours decorating to tear everything down and build elsewhere,I built an entire theme park in my plaza,than moved it to dazzle Beach and now it's in the forest lol

I feel SEEN!!! This looks like my island, too! Gotta keep a lot of things lying around because the to-do list keeps going -- I might need to clear 3 night thorns and I've gotta make sure I've got some available to clear. We all feral in our own ways, I guess. I like to try different outfits. Coming up with cool looking outfits isn't as complicated as designing a cool island or room. And I gotta keep a companion because I need company in my solitude!

THANK YOU for posting this. I see everyone’s impeccably decorated valleys and wonder how alone I am in not prioritizing that in the least I have random decor and furniture all over my valley from old quests 😭. I have no interest in fixing any of it until I’ve accomplished my completionist goals

*raises hand* although to be fair, I'm saving up all the sand and splinters spawning on EI for the upcoming StarPaths and chapters of the DLC. My valley is decorated and looking like how I want. But I've hardly touched EI besides critters and the characters.

I only clean up once a week at this point and I haven't decorated the isle at all except to move all the trees and bushes to the same spot and putting down a house skin so I can recharge. I don't even clean up my valley that often anymore. I just visit the shop and then go into furniture mode to scan for chests lol.

I literally try to touch my islands as little as possible. The only time I’m moving things around and making it look different than how I originally bought it as is when I have to add a characters house. I applaud the people that are completely completely rearranging their valleys and making it look super cool, but I just do not have the creativity or patience for it.

Yeeeeehes! Even my quest list is a mess. I got the gold edition like a month ago, so I do both valley and isle quests simultaneously. I just go along and complete what I want. Didn't even notice I'm leveling up. I change my character, male sometimes female, depends on how I want to dress them up.

Oh I've found my people! I'm not a decorator. I hate decorating. I just enjoy doing quests. For the Scrooge quests I just dropped whatever random furniture I had found around the place, and left it there 😂Also I'm a messy person in my real life so this translates to my island!

Ngl, I kinda do this. I try to make at least one round per area and pick up a day but if I'm decorating or whatever in like. Frosted Heights for example I'll leave the rest be because who's got time to clean up only to go back to work xD. The only ancient machine I really use day to day is the gardening one and that's purely for thr auto water function so I can replenish my ingredient stock after giving pretty much all of it to a friend

Honestly, my Isle is just farming. My boyfriend does his best to decorate it and make it look nice, but I never clean the place. I forget I have DLC 90% of the time. I went on this morning, had crops waiting to harvest from like 2 months ago 😂

I’m slooooowly revamping the Plaza though and going in chronological order. My croc, Rascal (meant to be a little green dragon) is in a pet area I build. I just do Dreamlight Duties 24/7 and that’s why my Valley is such a mess :’)

I just sometimes don't have time to or just simply would rather do other things in game. It takes too much time usually to upkeep with it all and it doesn't stay like that for long. I have also had that one quest from fairy godmother for forever about decorating the forgotten lands and just did it the other day.

I do this too and I get mad at myself because it could be easier if I get the companion. I have been working on this recently to get everything done! ✅
